We hired a Citroen from Toulouse airport. On the second day of our holiday the car BROKE DOWN. The radiator overheated and we pulled over and called them to let them know. They EVENTUALLY organised a mechanic to come and look at the car. He decided to take the car away leaving us stranded. About 2 hours later we were eventually picked up and taken to another car hire company in Pau (they were sub-hiring from Hertz as they did not have any cars available for us).
To cut a long story short, we returned home and they called asking us 'where the car was'? We told them that THEY organised a mechanic and THEY took it away leaving us stranded. 3 weeks later we receive a bill itemising damage done to the car and they have TAKEN money from our credit card without properly evaluating the situation. We phoned and they said just reply by letter. They took money, a lot of money, without even receiving our letter in return? What sort of car hire company is this? WE DID NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT and several people drove that car before it was returned you. HAVE YOU ASKED THE GARAGE?
