Very pleased with this location. We rented a car through Costco travel, which I also highly recommend because the second driver is included, and we had our choice of Alamo, Budget, Enterprise, or one other company, I believe. Due to its high Yelp reviews and low prices I chose Alamo and I believe I made the right decision based on this trip. After you get your luggage, follow the signs and eventually you will end up across the skywalk in the car rental area. There was a bit of a line but eventually we made it to the front and we were given a booklet with our info on it. From there, you proceed into the garage and Alamo is on the 5th floor. We paid about $500 for a 5-day rental and we had selected a standard SUV, which was marked as being a Ford Edge or equivalent. I'm not sure if they were out of the standard SUVs that day or something but they ended up giving us a Ford Explorer instead, which was rather huge but a super nice car; it had adaptive cruise control, navigation, and tons of legroom. To return the car yesterday, we followed the signs off of Post Rd. or you can plug in Alamo's address into your GPS, and you drive the car back into the garage, an employee scans it, and you gather your things from the car and walk back across the skywalk into the terminal. Very easy. Based on this experience I would definitely rent from Alamo again, specifically this location if I was in town. read more

First - just be aware for **all** car rentals at the Providence RI airport: it is 1/3 of a mile (yes I mapped it) between baggage claim and the rental counter with no shuttle. Fine for us folks in great shape but be aware. Second - everything all around was good. Due to the pandemic rebound sort of straining all the car companies we could only rent an SUV - which for me is far bigger than we wanted. But they were short and gave us a sedan and a free tank of gas (and I was so glad later in some of the tight parking and narrow streets in Rhode Island that we had a smaller vehicle). read more

I contacted the desk hours before closing and was assured that someone would be at the counter until 0300/3am. I get to the counter at 0215/2:15am and there's no one to be found. Complete ghost town with signs pointing to another rental car service, that's also empty. All I needed was honesty and it could've prevented an extra hour of an already delayed travel day. Believe it or not, this was the best experience I've ever had at a car rental place. Every time I rent a car from other rental agencies within TF Green, I'm always left disappointed or angry. We walked right up, and the agent called us up right away. She asked for our license and looked us up. There was a light up sell but she wasn't pushy. She checked us in and tah-dah. Easy as 1-2-3. We went to the next floor up and a gentleman greeted us right away right off the elevator. He walked us over to our small sedan and said, "you know what, here's a nicer and more spacious sedan for you." The best customer service I've ever had. We got into the vehicle and we checked out. Returning the vehicle was also easy. They checked the vehicle for any damages and off we go. I'd definitely choose this place again next time I need to rent a vehicle. Avoid Alamo! Not only do they overcharge for insurance and fees, they send a collection agency after you, even if you've paid in full! That's what happened to us: we received a number of threatening letters and emails, demanding payment of our ZERO balance, or else we wouldn't be able to rent a car again and it would impact our credit record. It took a lot of time, effort and phone calls to fix this. Don't let this happen to you--there are many other rental car companies--choose any one but Alamo. read more

On April 9th I attempted to pick up my rental car at Alamo anticipating it being a quick process as I completed the pre register form online. After being sent from the 3rd floor to the 5th then back to the 3rd I was told my Maggie the " manager " that I couldn't complete the process because my new license is coming up red on their scanner.i inquired what that means and she couldn't explain or articulate as the manager. She told me there's nothing she can do for me and provided 0 solutions. After the horrid service I received I just walked over to the budget rental counter and not only did I get the rental wIthin 5 min with no reservation, it was also cheaper in cost. Budget provided a wonderful experience, I highly recommend budget. Stay away from Alamo and their "mgmt".. DO NOT RENT HERE! read more

Boo Alamo! Boo! 2nd time poor service. Pre booked with toddler seat request. Came with a 5-year old child. They saw the child. Said seat not paid in advance. No problem. We paid for it on the spot. Mind you know we woke up at 4am California time to catch our 6:40am flight. Arrived providence PVD 6:30pm. Kid is hungry, cold and tired. Went to get the car and got an infant seat back facing which my 5-year old can't fit into. No help whatsoever. We need toddler seat. Paid for toddler seat. No one is apologetic nor helpful. What's up Alamo? Gave the keys back. Don't care anymore eventho we paid already. We are not that rich. But the disrespect they showed a colored man and his child is unacceptable!!! Not playing the racist card here but this is the 2nd time in less than 3 weeks. Why booked 2nd time you said? Because my assistant booked it. Went over next counter to Budget, voila! The rental experience was great car was super only minor problem the tire pressure went off I checked the tires they were fine so I reset the tire monitor. I rented from TF Green and it's the red Toyota if I was them please double the pressure on the tires before you rent it again. read more

I rented from Alamo Rental car out of Providence's TF Green regional airport for 3 days. Got a sweet deal off of Priceline at $20/day, so that was great. I saved a good $40 off the total from an original booking from Orbitz, so I cancelled that for the Priceline deal. I arrived here from Honolulu and after 2 layovers in Seattle and Minneapolis-St Paul. After a long travel day, I followed the signs to the rental car area - which is like far away from the baggage claim area. I guess they were closer to the cars themselves, but wow. It was about a 10 minute commute. The physical address for Alamo Rental Car was on Jackson Avenue, per Yelp. As it turns out, Jefferson Blvd is where the actual garage where you check in and out the rental cars at. It's connected to the airport, of course, but the physical address is on Jefferson Blvd. Cute. And so, I got here and checked in. The process was good and the dude at the counter was professional. I opted for the LDW insurance as always, since stuff happens out there on the roads. Better to have yourself covered, rather than trying to battle it out with the company especially after something had happen. So peace of mind, but a $$ maker for the company. I got an economy car , which was fine and I proceeded to the car lot and was told I got a free upgrade, since they had no economy cars available that day. I was like, free is definitely good. I picked out a Toyota, which was pretty sweet, but as it turned out, that was a problem and took me a good 15 minutes to sort out. As I drove out of the lot, the Alamo attendant told me to wait and subsequently, I was told that the model I was driving was in the process of recalling. I was like, you're kidding right?? And so, I had to pack up my stuff, while another guy asked me what kind of car I wanted. After a good 5 minutes of waiting, he drove up with the car , which happened to be a Nissan Maxima, which looked kind of epic and spacious, so that was a good thing, i guess. The car rental spaces were on the 5th floor of the complex, so I had to find the exit and drive down 5 floors before heading off to the I-95. It was an experience that was definitely interesting and my 1st time doing so. Not that it was bad or annoying, but I just needed to point that out. It just costed me time, but I had time as I was on vacation anyway. The check back in process was just like any other. Drive back in the facility and check the car back into inventory. It was a good 11/2 hour drive from Falmouth to Providence and I was sad to go, but had a good experience here in New England. Hope to be back. The car insurance LDW was cheaper than that of Hertz, which was great. Just $16.99/ day versus $24.99/day. Thought that was very good. Other than that, if you don't mind not being a loyal rental, the prices online via Priceline are great, if you don't mind renting randomly - as long as you get a great price, certainly I don't. Nice to shop around, don't you think. Overall, my experience at Alamo was spot on, even though the incident was kind of unavoidable. Pretty good though. Recommended for all your travel needs. I was traveling from Florida to Providence and I didn't initially book through Alamo as they were more expensive at the time I made my reservation through another company. When I got to the other company I was denied my reservation and they told me to go elsewhere. I had rented from Alamo before and decided to go there first. Best decision ever. The man behind the counter who sadly I do not remember his name, and its no where on my paperwork, was amazing and super friendly. I let him know I just needed the cheapest possible, as I know I was booking last minute so it was more expensive. He processed everything super fast and the price was only about 20$ more than what I would have paid at the original reservation company and I was perfectly happy with that! He gave me all the paper work and told me to go to the 5th level. I got up there and anther man greeted me and I gave him my paper work. He informed me that most of the smaller economy cars, which is what I paid for were taken, so if I would like I could get a midsize with no extra charge. I ended up picking a Nissan Vogue. Other than some scratches on the window, looks like they tries to peel off a sticker, the car was in amazing shape and very clean. I know that I will also always continue to book through Alamo even if they are more expensive! read more

Hello - I am contacting you to share my extreme disappointment with Alamo. On 9/26/2018, I was scheduled to rent a compact vehicle at approximately 1 am from TD Green Airport in Providence. When I arrived to the check in counter, the gentleman working was extremely pleasant to chat with. Things started going downhill when I walked outside to Level 5 and I quickly see the area where my car options are. There are two large pickup trucks, one large minivan, and a Jeep Wrangler. I walked around for about 5-10 minutes before a gentleman in the booth yelled to me to take the Jeep Wrangler. At this point, I was frustrated from waiting at 1 am for a vehicle and this Wrangler was not what I expected. I was going to be traveling long distances in an outdoor/off-roading vehicle and transporting two kids. The backseat was horrible getting in and out of. Anyhow, when I entered the car at the airport, a very strong scent quickly came upon me. The customers before me left a very strong smell of marijuana in the vehicle. This made me very uncomfortable. WHY WASN'T THIS NOTICED BY STAFF prior to me getting into the car? This is unprofessional. I didn't want to drive this vehicle for over 100 miles to Connecticut with this odor. It was after 1 am at this time, so I started driving and then notice that I'm having trouble driving in the down pouring rain because the inside windshield was filthy. I pulled over to wipe what looked like food on the inside with some napkins that I had on hand. The following morning, I called Alamo to express my frustration. They told me their only locations were are at airports: Bradley, New Haven, or Providence. I informed the girl that I was working and did not have the time to exchange cars at these far locations. I was nowhere near an airport. She then informed me Alamo has a contract with Enterprise and that they could do an exchange of the vehicle. She provided me with their phone number and sent the local Enterprise office an email. I called 3 different Enterprise locations for the next three days asking for a car exchange but they kept saying they have me on a "waiting list" and when a similar car comes in, they will reach out to me. Never once did they reach out to me. The communication and professionalism between Alamo and Enterprise is unacceptable. Needless to say, my trip is over and I returned the original Jeep to Providence this afternoon with a very dirty taste in my mouth with Alamo (and Enterprise). My customer experience was absolutely horrible. Alamo knew I was not happy with a car smelling like an illegal drug, yet they did not reach out to me to assist. These are controllable incidences that ruins customer loyalty. As consumers, the word of mouth is extremely powerful, so I hope this incident is looked into further. Thank you. read more

Hands down the best experience you can have with a car rental place! The people at the front desk were super nice and very professional. After checking out and going to the garage a very polite lady greeted us right away, checked our papers, showed us our options, and we were done in five minutes. We were actually upgraded while looking at our options, which was super nice. The car was clean and had a full tank of gas. I guess the guy who checked me in in Rochester really messed up the reservation It took Sarah and the manager a little bit time to find it. Because I had to wait they really took care of me. After experiencing a nightmare of a situation with Hertz a few months ago I had lost faith in all car rentals. However renting with Alamo was completely headache free. We waited a few minutes for our car but that was only because there was an obnoxious man in front of us dressed head to toe in gold who kept insisting he needed a Chrysler 300 and then had his card declined. Other than the flying trim panel that came out of my Chrysler Town & Country rental that I took from MA down to Florida - They were good enough not to charge me for the missing panel and understood it was a defect w/ the car. The Toyota Avalon was a very nice ride and the Bluetooth handsfree was a perfect accessory, along with the USB and lighter charging options for cell and tablet. In and out quickly. No frills customer service. Seriously easy. Only warning, and it's not even really an Alamo issue, is the walk from the terminal to the agency. It's long. However, they have the moving walkways and a golf cart shuttle if you're that lazy. read more

I'm very frustrated with Alamo's customer service as a whole. The staff here was great. My issue is that on returning my car, I forgot my keys in my rental and realized this mid-flight. When I arrived at my destination, I could not reach anyone at this location - all the locations use the 800 number call centers. This particular location is not part of the alamolostandfound.com website. I'm still unable able to get any information from anyone within the Alamo 800 center except that no one has responded. I just want to be able to talk with the location. Can someone PLEASE do something? Yes, I forgot the keys and that part is my responsibility but it's clear Alamo doesn't enable good old-fashioned customer service in these situations. read more

First, I give 3 stars because of the weather context of bitter cold and plentiful snow. However, there were 2 issues when I picked up the car at 10:30PM to start a 3 hour drive. First, it was covered with salt and dirt. the appearance part is minor but the reduction of visibility through the windows was an issue. Second, the windshield washer reservoir was empty.. When I realized this, I had to find an open store to buy some late at night in unfamiliar territory. When I returned the car, the fellow who checked it in told me that I could go to the counter for reimbursement of the $4 for the washer solvent. I chose not to spend the 30 minutes that i am sure it would have taken to do so. read more

I got a very good rate online to rent a Ford Escape SUV so I could help my daughter move all her stuff from Providence to Washington, DC after her college graduation. I was happy to see that the one-way rental did not cost anything extra. After making the booking I called Alamo's membership line (I am an Alamo club member) and asked if I could add my 22-year-old daughter as a driver. The phone rep said yes, for an $11 fee. That sounded great -- but when we got to the rental counter at PVD, the reservations agent said that was wrong -- because it's an SUV, a driver under 25 cannot be added to the rental for any amount of money. I was very annoyed about that -- had to do the whole drive to DC myself. I would have kept looking around for another car rental company to find one that would allow an under-25 driver to pay an extra fee to be able to share the driving on an SUV. I guess this is more the fault of the rental agent on the phone than the counter clerk at PVD - but I do have to say she wasn't very nice while giving us the bad news. Despite that snafu, the pickup of the SUV went well, and it was a great car for the drive, and the drop-off in DC was fast and easy. So I'm giving 4 stars, but not 5. read more

I've been renting cars for decades and got fed up with the increasingly dishonest tactics used by discount rental companies like Dollar, Budget and Enterprise. Alamo wasn't as bad, but there were issues. So I switched to Hertz and didn't look back. You pay more, but no hassles with upselling, insisting I must have certain options, or finding a miniscule ding on the windshield and charging me for the windshield. In Providence the charge for Hertz returning at a different location was so high that I took a chance on Alamo. What a great experience! Nothing but efficient professionalism, no dishonest sales pitches, in fact no upselling at all! I've found that the business practices of a given location can vary greatly within the same company, but I'm not willing to take another look at Alamo. read more

Mostly fine. It's annoying to have to examine the car for damage prior to use when Alamo already knows about existing damages. Why not have those known items marked on the rental agreement for each vehicle? Annoyance reduced. Or are you charging multiple customers for the same damage??? read more

Our experience with the Providence airport Alamo site was great from start to finish. We rented through Costco, which was a great deal. We rented a full-size SUV. As expected, we were given our choice and we picked a Ford Explorer. It was a fairly new vehicle and was the top of the line Explorer. We were very pleased with the ride as we put nearly 1,200 miles on it over a six-day period. The process at the counter took just a few minutes as they weren't busy. We did add the electronic toll payer for about $20 for the period we had the car. We had $13 in tolls. I wasn't crazy about it, but it's a necessity these days. The pickup was as easy as it gets. I did notice a couple of dings on the Explorer, so I did a video of it, noting the dings and a couple of scrapes. The lady at the booth to leave the parking garage was nice and helped me with quick directions. The return was about as easy as it gets as well. It was pretty busy at that time, but they had plenty of people helping customers. All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to rent at this location again. FYI, there are a few gas stations right near the airport, check GasBuddy.com or their app vs. Alamo's price to see which is better. read more

I had reserved a Ford Fusion but asked about an upgrade when I arrived at PVD. The nice gentleman at the counter worked with me and I was very happy with the black 2017 new body Camero which had only 150 miles on it. All in all the experience was great!
