This is singing the praises of Marc at the Montreal (Pierre Elliott Trudeau) airport location. I had booked my rental online for a midsize car. When I asked Marc if it had a GPS, he told me only luxury cars had GPS. He didn't think he had any but when I told him I was driving to Cowansville about an hour away he kindly offered to check and see if there was a car available. And there was. Marc was very kind and patient and really bent over backward to get me a car with a GPS so I wouldn't get lost. He went over the basics of the car and I was on my way in no time. On my return the car was checked over quickly and I was on my way. I would highly recommend Alamo Montreal to anyone looking for a rental while in Montreal and specifically ask for Marc. And your rates are very reasonable. read more

As you can see on 10/12/2022, I posted a very unprofessional experience with Alamo Rent a Car at Pierre Trudeau Montreal Airport. The very next day, Alamo posted that they wanted to talk with me. I immediately sent them all the information they asked on for 10/13/22. Four days have passed and I haven't heard a word from Lisa S, Business Manager, Customer Service. She is not responding as she said she would. Same experience I had with calling Customer Service and e-mailing the Manager of Alamo Car Rental in Montreal. A really bad experience. They claimed damage to the car which I was unaware of, and didn't contact me at all during their "investigation" instead they passed my information to a debt collection agency who hounded me for payment on a charge that I had no way of disputing. Despite trying to contact them several times to discuss, none of my calls were answered or returned. Their system is so poor that they didn't actually have my details on file to give the collection agency. I learned a harsh lesson in doing the right thing. Don't use them if you have any expectation of customer service or hope that they will do right by you as a customer. read more

I have used this location several times now and it has become my "first choice" for rentals when coming to Montreal. First off, the prices here are really good and you actually get the same vehicles as you would with National. The difference is that National has a points reward program and an "elite" program where you can get your car without stopping at the counter. Regardless, I enjoy the lower price over saving a few minutes. The cars here are well maintained and I haven't ever had an issue. In the winter I find that they could be cleaner but I'm sure washing cars when it's -3 out isn't easy. The returns are super fast and you have a full receipt before you walk away from the car which I love. I hate it when you return a car and they email a receipt that is higher than it should be so the receipt at return is a big plus. Enjoy! read more

This was one of the easiest car rentals I've experienced. They had a low miles compact SUV with all the bells and whistles available for us as requested and ready to go when we arrived. On return, they went out of their way to make sure we got checked in and taken care of. I believe the managers run an efficient operation, but are interested in assuring a good experience for their clients. Accessibility: I drive with hand controls. After making a reservation online through Costco's travel site. I called Alamo's direct hotline with my accommodation request. Often I am told that they can't promise what car they can put the controls on, or even if they do, it's often substituted for a different vehicle without checking with me. In this case, I needed an compact SUV to carry all of our party and luggage (plus my wheelchair). The rep promised we'd get what we wanted, and Alamo delivered. The YUL office had a midsize SUV with hand controls pulled up to the curb for me and we were all set. Upon return, the person checking us in went out of his way to make sure we could unload with enough of the space and time that we needed. read more

I got to Alamo and they told me they don't have any cars. They left their online reservation open and didn't take new reservation. This agent TAREQ pretty much told me I was on my own and It's not his fault that they don't have a car for me. So I spent 170$ for not having a rental. I never seen such awful customer service in my life. It is humiliating and irritating. read more

The provided car by Alamo at PHL was not clean on the outside and had some slight odor, like cleaner or cigarettes. This was the only full size car to choose. Apparently Alamo and other car rental companies consider an Altima to be full size, but it is smaller than a "full size" Impala that I have rented before, and I consider the Altima a mid-size. read more

I normally rent from National but this time I rented from Alamo because they were half the price for a similar full size car. However, there were very little choice of full size car and I ended up driving away in a Buick that did not have electric seats. I paid 217 dollars for a one week rental in US dollars Getting the car and returning the car was very fast and I had no problems with the car. read more

I returned the car with a full tank and the attendant still charged me $20. He claims that even though the tank is full, the kilometers when I picked it up to my return did not match. Very disappointing as I only deal with Alamo Car Rental everywhere I go and I have never been charged regardless if the mileage doesn't match as long as I return it full. Beware! read more

Have rented cars from numerous places before but these guys has been one of the best so far. Always great at accommodating you and putting your priorities first! Misheard the reception guy tell me that additional driver was $10 for the whole duration of rent instead of $10/day. After the return I called them and they even refunded the difference in a quick moment. Very impulsive decision making to help clients instead of forwarding them around in a loop between reps to postpone getting a solution which a lot of companies nowadays do. They've always given me piece of mind and there has never been a time I've faced hidden costs or charges upon return. read more

Do not rent from these people unless you have absolute proof of any (and I mean any) minor scratch or dents on the car prior to driving it away. Picked up a car in a dimly lit parking garage and failed to notice 2 scratches on the car. The attendant pulled out a ruler when I picked it up and said "anything bigger then this come back and see us, otherwise don't worry about it" Don't fall for it. I did not see the scratches until I had left and was able to see it in daylight. Funny thing, upon my return, the attendant immediately went to that area of the car as if they knew what was they were looking for. Did not say anything at the time and gave me my receipt. 3 weeks later, I get a letter from their claims department demanding payment for the damages. Had insurance with my credit card company but beware. My own fault for not checking better when I picked it up but still... I have used Alamo/Enterprise at numerous airports before but this will be my last. read more

I started my online search today with no intention of writing a yelp review. I happened to stumble onto Jade R.'s post (for the other Alamo Rent A Car location in Montreal) coincidently while searching for rental car damage 'scams' and found that my story had already been written out to a tee by another customer: a seemingly simple and uneventful short-term car rental turned to a large bill and undeserved headache. I received a bill for roughly $750.00 in damages that I firmly believe did not occur while I was in possession of the vehicle. The vehicle was returned to an attendent that did a walk around and found no damages - this made the email notice we received a month later that much more surprising. The invoices included pictures of the damage presumably taken at the repair shop. The damage itself looks malicious and intentional - a single dent over passenger door on the driver side. No where can I even match the license plate of the vehicle we drove to the license plate of the vehicle with damages - I'm not confident that it is even the same vehicle. Unfortunately we did not think to take our own pictures of the vehicle when we returned it since the weekend had gone smoothly and without incident. The attendant also did not provide us with anything to confirm the vehicle was returned in good condition so we do not have documentation to support our stance. Like Jade R., my attempts to communicate with Alamo fell on deaf ears. I am livid at the allegation made by Alamo and am even more infuriated with my inability to plead my case. I suspect that this incidence is an unethical and illegal business practice. read more

So two buddies of mine & I decided to road trip for the weekend last minute, went to a few rentals and they didn't offer unlimited milage.. they also weren't nice at all plus their rates sucked! We found Alamo last minute through a website and they offered the best deal for the car.. I showed up and told her the reservation and was being nice and Polite (even though I was stressed out for the past two hrs driving around and trying to find a deal) anyways, she treated us amazing! gave us a great deal with a free upgrade and weaved the extra charge for driver! so if you ask me, I think they are really amazing and would recommend and use them again read more

Our week in Quebec (Montreal and Quebec City) was the more delightful because of the Ford Explorer we rented at the airport. We had previously reserved a standard but for a modest sum made even more attractive by the US/CAN exchange rates, we upgraded to the larger vehicle. (lots of luggage too) Our check in was coureous and quick. I'm fairly new to Alamo, but will continue to rent from them! read more
