A group of 5 of us were working on completing the E.T. Highway Geocaching Mega Trail and decided to use Alamo as a base of operation for the first half of the trail. We got two rooms at the Alamo Inn, one for two of us and one for the other three. Both rooms were pretty rough and if there had really been more choices around, we'd probably have moved but there is only one other place in town (double the price) but they couldn't accommodate us. So we spent two nights here and all agreed it was the lowest quality lodging any of us have ever stayed in. Our toilet wasn't bolted to the floor and it could fall over if you sat on it and leaned. Ceiling was rotting and falling in, the bed was lumpy and the bathroom was something I'd expect in a prison environment. See pics. It was pretty noisy too with tractor trailers zipping by on the highway right outside and some pulling and idling in the parking lot. The good side, the price was on the low end and the front desk folks were very friendly.

Look for the sign.

A great spot to spend the night if you want we find yourself traveling between Las Vegas and Ely…read more Many cabin like units available for travelers with a restaurant on the grounds to fill your hunger. There are single and double cabins. Workmate has a single cabin last time here that had jets in the deep tub. I've only been in the double cabins. I can say the walls are thin between the adjoining rooms, but my coworker is like me and not noisy, so it didn't bother me. Beds are very comfortable and the staff maintains the rooms very well. Some of the cabins are pet friendly, and there is plenty of room to allow your pets some roaming time after being in the car for so long. There is also free WiFi available. I was in an outer cabin, so service was a bit spotty. If you're a business traveler like me, might ask if there is a cabin closer to the main building.

Update: FOUR STARS FOR POSITIVE ACTION. This situation has been resolved following contacting their…read morecorporate office in Las Vegas this morning. Their (first Kat and then Dan) response was swift, and I mean really fast. They have confronted the offending manager and offered to reimburse us for costs associated with the other lodging we sought, as well as comp any future visit should we be up that way again. They are also going to implement that All staff and incoming staff will be educated on ADA laws regarding Service Animals. We are not vindictive people. Education is our preferred way of dealing with situations like this. Bad reviews will happen if there is no response. As with this review, it has been corrected following the positive responses from corporate and this is just one example of a positive way to deal with things. What happened: ZERO STARS IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. We were denied a room because of our Service Animal. Why do I say that? 1)They had available rooms. But... 2) We were told by the manager that because they did not have a pet friendly room, they would have to deep clean the room/cabin afterwards... therefore... 3) We, along with our service dog...were denied! There's always something going on at Casablanca. Whether it's adding or taking out slots, or the…read moresame for dining venues. Activity seems to be a constant. This time it was doing away with the original sportsbook, and relocating it against a nondescript wall deeper in the casino. Not a good look for us bettors. I was told that Station casinos has taken over this aspect of of our gambling vice. In so doing, I'm thinking Casablanca has given it the Ol' heave ho. The sportsbook has been transformed into a comicbook. Good ridden to the bank of TV's. Out you go ample seating. So long talley board giving the spreads. Usher in the new and unimproved thimble experience. A few roundtop tables, and I wonder what the line on the game is? In the place of the old sportsbook location, installed are yet more uninspiring slots. Yes slots are the bread and butter of a casino. But bread gets stale and butter will turn rancid before long. Before you know it, the Casablanca will lean toward its one time neighbor The Oasis. That remnant is a blight on the landscape of Mesquite. However that infection could spread west if ownership doesn't quit tinkering with what made this casino resort a success. The renovated rooms are nice, and getting rid of the buffet was probably the right decision. What's lacking is the once old school ambiance. Adding new this and new that may not have the desired effect. What may happen is that we'll decide to stay home and gamble on our phones. Or better yet, gamble on our phones while in a national park or sitting on a beach in Hawaii. With diminishing returns hovering, it may not be prudent to gamble on repeat business. Quick Tip: If you want a quiet place to hang, visit the business center next to the elevators. In all the years that I've been visiting, I've yet to see anyone (other than myself) in there. You could literally have a party and not have to worry about being disturbed. It's also five times bigger that the new sportsbook!

And we certainly let the food and manager know about the incredible service staff that we had. We both had massages and facials at the spa and I highly highly recommend. There was a little hiccup on the room when I checked in, but it was resolved by a skillful front office manager. I had the opportunity to talk with the general manager, and he was more than pleasant. I'm excited about booking my next trip back
