The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is such a fun movie-going experience. The theater has a cute, old-fashioned vibe with unique movie-themed décor that makes it feel more special than your typical cinema. A little further away than the rest, this is a great theater. Their street parking and you have to pay so try looking in surrounding areas or pay to park. When you first walk in there is a restaurant/bar available if you get there early. This theater didn't look like it had too many screens, but I was in theater two. All of the chairs were the comfortable recliner chairs and each chair had its own table so you did not have to share a table. The staff was friendly like always and quick with the refills and taking orders. I like that they have the order cards on pen and paper during the movie and that you can always write down if another table is too loud on the piece of paper. All of the pricing looked the same as the other theater so it's good to know that they keep pricing the same across the board. Overall, I think this location was really nice and I would definitely go back if it's more convenient for my friends to go to this location. Right now they have the WICKED display and it is huge, very vibrant and it's a fabric background besides the two cut outs on the side. Very cool! read more

My husband and I went here to see a movie that wasn't playing in our neighborhood theater. We were greeted by friendly staff and a fun atmosphere inside. We sat down and ordered pizza a drink and popcorn. The server was great. I enjoyed how the previews were connected to the movie we were seeing and of course there were trailers for upcoming movies. The seats were comedians the theater was clean. It's a little odd with the movie started already how loud they are when they take orders but it wasn't too disruptive for long. Previously used to be a great date place for myself and my wife. The food and drinks are good, the old full-service system with the ordering cards was successful and felt like it was easy to make requests with most of your attention still on the movie. Now, that system is replaced with an automated online ordering system that requires you to be on your phone. It is more work for the customer, causes distractions with people being on their phones, and is a security risk with payment being entered over public wifi. Instead of being able to enjoy the pre-show, we were glued to the phone while navigating the clunky menu and punching in a credit card number. I also had to show my ID to more than one server as they took uncoordinated trips to our seats, which seems like an unfortunate side effect of an online system handling the pace of orders. My wife was also done with her entree by the time I got mine...after we had to get on the QR code mid-movie to bring up an issue, which was an awkward experience. It felt like we were disturbing the people next to us while fiddling with the phone. Unfortunately for the employees as well, we feel less motivated to tip with us handling so much of the ordering and payment process, only for it all to feel less efficient anyways. Feels like a McDonald's ordering kiosk, when part of the theater's charm used to be having a server help you with a having good experience. P.S to the bottom-line sales executives: Our check was a lot cheaper too, no doubt because of the clunkiness of the ordering. Typically, we would get an appetizer, 2 entrees, more than 1 drink each, and even a snack near the end of the movie, because the ordering was so simple and the menu was easy to read at a glance. I definitely wanted a second drink and a side of fries near the end of the movie, but didn't want to turn on the phone, bother my wife and the people next to me, navigate to the right tab, scroll through the site, find the right category, select my seat number and sauces, etc. etc. rather than just jotting down a note with my eyes still on the screen. I always have a great experience here. Yesterday was no exception. My kids and I came to see How to Train Your Dragon. I like to get there 30 minutes before the show. That is when customers are let into the theater for their show. The service is always great! I prefer Alamo over other theaters because it is not all commercials running up to the start of the movie. What is showing is a compilation of related material for the show you are about to see. In this case it was all dragon related reels from movies and TV shows of the past. The fun part of having adult children is we all ordered a cocktail to go with our dinner. I had a house margarita. My daughter chose the Red Cape Margarita, a special in conjunction with the release of the Superman movie. It had blanco tequila, orange liqueur, Monin strawberry purée, and lime. My son got The Grasshopper, a shake with Arrow crème de menthe & crème de cacao. We all enjoyed our beverages. To eat, I had a pepperoni pizza with a side of ranch. My daughter chose the margarita pizza and my son had the pulled pork sandwich. We also shared a bowl of their buttered popcorn. It was a fun evening. read more

This place has lost all of its character since the acquisition. They use to kick people out for using their phones, and warned you about it on the screen. Now they've removed those warnings and require you to order from your phone, so you get distracted by the phones throughout the movie. All to save paying for a few minimum wage workers. I would happily pay more for tickets and food to keep the one last edge they had over the competition. read more

I absolutely love this theatre. Food & movie? Yes please! Perfect for date night away from our baby. But we just found out they also offer Baby days to take your LO with you! So cute. My fav fav fav thing is the Truffle Parm popcorn! I neeeeed the recipe. I miss when it used to have Free Refills. But they've added a bunch of other recipes which would be cool to try. I was hesitant to try a salad from a movie theater (I know) but it was surprisingly very good! Went to see Sheep Detectives ..good entertaining movie...Ordered first time using QR Code ordering....it worked well...seem to be a lot of food and drink servers in the theatre as usual...service good and food great. Could not see a loss of waiters... hopefully paying servers same rate...only problem as seen with other theaters is they do not clean restrooms after daytime showings resulting in both ladies restrooms visited not clean and without paper towels... inexcusable! Comes with a side of sauce and side of ranch as well as fries. Some of the best chicken tenders I've ever had. I was very pleasantly surprised. Dill Pickle Buttered Popcorn-be careful with this new flavor, it's tasty but the seasoning can linger in your nose and make you sneeze. Salty and vinegary, this was a well-done pickle flavoring. Key Lime Pie Jar- this pie crust at the bottom of the jar was the best part. The custard had a nice texture and was very tart, but the lime needed to be punchier. Not too shabby, it was decent. "Josephine Baker" cocktail at Pandora's Box Bar- A Prosecco and banana flavored crafted cocktail inspired by vaudeville actress Josephine Baker. One of the coolest places to see a movie is Alamo Drafthouse. Instead of the 1/2 hour pre-show being filled with boring commercials, it's filled with shorts, images and news related to the film you're seeing. For example, "The Brutalist" pre-show was filled with architecture, mid-century fabulousness & old Adrien Brody commercials! You can order food to be delivered to your seat. My favorite is their burgers and shakes. They also have traditional movie food like popcorn. The twist is that it is bottomless. You can have as much as you'd like! There are tables in front of the seats where you can put your food. There sometimes are special food items which relate to the movie being shown. Another thing that makes Alamo unique are their special events. They have movie parties where you get props connected to the film that you can use during the movie. I was sad I missed the "Jaws" themed one! I really miss the Afternoon Teas that they used to have. They played a movie that would connect somehow to having afternoon tea like "Downton Abbey" or "An Ideal Husband". They served several different courses which included various teas and treats. The most interesting afternoon tea I've ever had. Please bring it back Alamo Drafthouse! :) They have a free Alamo Victory program. You can attend free screenings, get a free birthday treat and earn points for free food. read more

Alamo Westminster is our go to theater because the seats are fully reclinable and ticket prices are good. Tuesdays are $7 movie day! Their service is very different from traditional theaters. Instead of ordering and picking up food in the main area, there's a server that takes your order at your seat and brings it to you. Popcorn and soda are unlimited, which does mean servers are running in and out throughout the movie, which can be a love/hate situation for some. They also don't have traditional "movie theater butter" popcorn, instead I think they use ghee, which is a healthier alternative and we enjoy it, but again, could be a love/hate situation. Sometimes you just want that popcorn machine taste. We've gotten food a handful of times, but not every time because the prices are a bit high for what the food is. When we do get food, we enjoy it though. The chicken sandwich is pretty good and they used to have a fish and chips that was great (bring it back!). The truffle parm popcorn is on our "will try" list. read more

This place went WAY downhill once Sony took over. The food, which used to be excellent, has become tiresome, limited, and poorly executed. Now with their new app based ordering, you have to connect to their WiFi, which doesn't always work, and pray your order goes in. I put in an order when the WiFi wasn't working ("it's been acting weird" was what we were told) and it kept saying it couldn't complete my order over and over, as phone reception was close to nonexistent. Then magically my order arrived after we tried to go to the bar directly but nobody was manning the bar. Alamo's wait staff is being screwed, and transitively so are the customers. I've cancelled my monthly pass with them. It'll be Harkins or AMC from now on. read more

I just tried watching Wicked 2 at the Westminster location and the people sitting next to me in theater 5 row 6 seats 10 and 11 wouldn't stop checking their phones and smart watches during the movie. They lied to the manager and said they weren't doing what they were doing while there were multiple witnesses, including other staff, who gave warnings and saw their behavior. I raised an order card twice (after Gabriel, an employee there, had given them a warning). The manager, Justin, talked to the lady and gave her a warning the second time. The third time he came and asked to speak with her in the hallway. When that happened, the person she was with began verbally abusing me. After that conversation the lady came back to her seat and they both kept being rude and disrespectful to me and my husband. When we left the theater, the manager, Justin, said he was just going to keep an eye on them and acknowledged he wasn't following the theater policy of escorting them out after one warning like it says before every single movie starts and didn't give a reason as to why he wasn't following their own policy. I mentioned they were being verbally abusive and disrespectful when they were let back to their seats and all he said was a blanket, meaningless, monotonous apology. "I'm sorry for your experience and that you feel that way." The other staff were great and supportive. Justin's customer service (or lack thereof) was horrendous, careless, and egregiously nonchalant. We left and now the disruptive patrons stayed back and enjoyed the movie. read more

The new phone ordering sucks. Took forever to just get a water refill. They decimated the menu. It's tiny now and jacked up the prices. Food quality way down. My pizza was swimming in grease. Used to be a decent pizza around $13. Now $19 for a crap pizza. The caesar salad used to be decent and has been downgraded. We will only come now for $7 Tuesday tix and will eat before coming and bring our own liquor in. Not looking good for the Alamo. read more

Let me start off by saying this Alamo is AMAZING! Reclining seats in every theater, attentive and friendly staff, quick service, and so much more. I've been going here for a long time now, and I've never been disappointed... until now. This new ordering system is awful. I've never seen a company (Sony) ruin something that worked so well. I absolutely hate the phone ordering, requesting help is awful, and workers seemed very overwhelmed by all the orders going in so fast and so many people needing help. Makes sense, the site is awful, and is just an insult to the amazing people working there. Just cancelled my membership, and I hope things change so I can start coming back here! I don't understand why they removed the option to do mobile or write down your order. Please Alamo, fix what's always worked, I haven't seen a single person enjoy this new system. read more

I wish I could give the new experience at the Alamo only a half star. Since Christmas, The Alamo experience has taken a sharp nosedive down. I have been a Season pass holder since early 2022, and the sudden changes made to the theater has made 2026 the first time I have stopped going to the movies. The servers who always make a great time and make sure my food is just right are gone. The menu is now terrible with many of my favorite items gone. The strict no phone policy is gone and We can only order food by phones! This is simply terrible. I used to pay extra to go to the Alamo Drafthouse because it was about the experience and the love of cinema, but since Sony bought them its been a fast death and now AMC is beating them on all points. I can't believe how bad things have gotten. I would love to see movies again but the Alamo experience is close to being trapped at a stranger's house with random lights and chatter disrupting the film. Awful. read more

Wanted to give a shoutout to Crystal, Jason and the bartender during closing on Sun the 19th. They were all amazing! We had a small group with 3 separate tabs and were having quite a few technical difficulties with food and ordering through the apps. When we talked to crystal at the front area she was attentive and adjusted our bills accordingly. She was super friendly and accommodating. Jason was our server and he was prompt and professional. We stopped by the bar before our movie and our bartender was equally friendly and really funny, they started off our experience on a great note. We got a gift card from a friend, which is why we ended up at this Alamo. The young lady at the desk to enter the theaters was very nice and helpful. Our waitress was nice and helpful. The seats were ok, and the place seemed to be pretty clean, although, when I got home my hands had a black substances on them, so I wonder just how well the eating surfaces were really cleaned. I had a grilled chicken sandwich, and we had the popcorn, which was pretty good. We also had two drinks in which one of them was a margarita for my wife and she said that it was more ice than anything, so pretty much a rip off for that drink. Mine was an Angry Orchard in a bottle, so hard to screw that up. That's the few good things if you want to make some type of lemonade out of lemons. There was some just horrible entertainment on the screen before the shorts started. The shorts were abysmal if not juvenile. The first one was supposed to be these 30 something year old guys who are in suits, but supposed to be surviving in the woods. They find hot dogs and one guy decides to masturbate in the woods. It was really just childish and insulting. The second short was just about as bad. Something about a skateboard and wanting friends. I never really understood why several minutes of our lives were wasted on these things. Then the owner comes on with this really just dumb warning about not talking during the movie. I have no problem with a warning to be mindful and courteous to the other guest in the theater even though it's sad that we have to have these warnings these days. Just if you are going to do it don't do something dumb to express the message, but it was lost and now that I've seen the owner do this stupid skit then I totally understand why the theater is so poorly ran by him and his people. We spent over $75 in which a large chunk was covered by the gift card, which we were thankful for, but I will not be back to spend my own money on this atrocity acting like a movie theater. read more

App ordering for food and drinks is garbage, no one checks up to see if you need anything else and they expect a 20% tip- which is automatically given if you don't respond within 20 minutes. I've been a regular at Alamo Drafthouse for years because of the great food, attentive service, and distraction-free movie experience. Unfortunately, today's visit was a major letdown and completely ruined what should have been a fun outing. The chicken tenders have clearly changed -- and not for the better. They taste like they switched vendors, with lower quality breading and flavor compared to the old recipe we loved. The overall food quality felt downgraded across the board. On top of that, the new ordering system is more complicated than the old paper-and-pen method. The menu has also changed, and it just doesn't feel as seamless or user-friendly in the theater. Service was horrible this time, which is unusual for Alamo. We had to complain three times before our drinks finally arrived -- and even then, one person in our group never got his drink at all. Ironically, we received all our food and popcorn about 30 minutes before the drinks showed up. The timing was completely off. The manager did try to help and was polite, but the bar staff refused to serve us drinks directly because we had already placed an order through the in-theater system. That added even more frustration. Overall, the combination of lower-quality food, a clunky new ordering process, and poor service turned what's usually a premium movie experience into a stressful and disappointing one. I really hope this was just an off day and they can get back to the high standards Alamo is known for. We'll think twice before returning soon. read more

We have our own Alamo Drafthouse here in Omaha, so when my husband and I were in Boulder, we absolutely had to stop at this "cousin" of our favorite theater! I've said it before, and I'll say it again - Alamo is a place for movie people, BY movie people. So don't go there thinking you will talk through the movie or be on your phone. The No Talking/Texting bumper at the beginning of the movie should scare you straight from doing that LOL Alamo has tons of fun event movies like movie parties, sing a longs, brunch showings, and more. However, when we visited the Alamo Westminster, we were just seeing a normal movie (It: Chapter 2). It was presented fantastically, with expertly mixed sound and vividly colored screens. Their in-house lounge, Pandora's Box, wasn't open for the day yet when we saw our movie (it was an earlier showtime), but you can always order food at your seat during the film (there are tables to eat at, don't worry). The design and decor of Pandora's Box were just as cool and well thought out as the overall theater theming and design. I looked at their food offerings and they had a pretty similar menu to our Omaha Alamo menu, so I can speak to those. My favorites, that I absolutely recommend are the Baked Pretzel, Fish and Chips, Chicken Tenders, Pepperoni Pizza, and Cauliflower with Gochujang sauce. I know most of that sounds like I'm five years old, but they are definitely adult version of these dishes, and very elevated in their recipes. Alamo will also sometimes have a "special features" section of the menu with a few added items for a season, and it will change out every once in a while to a new special features menu. So there's always ton to choose from, which is nice. This Alamo was just as nice as our location and obviously also geared towards movie lovers. If I'm ever near this Alamo again, I will definitely stop by for a movie! read more

The family used to go here quite regularly but our last visit a couple weeks ago was not great. The switch to QR code ordering is a disaster. App is slow, glitchy, and distracting to use in a movie theater. Only got half our order even after tracking down an employee to help re-input the order. I don't know what management is thinking but I hope they soon all get fired and we can go back to dealing with actual people instead of yet another stupid app. If they keep the QR code ordering, we probably won't come back. read more

If you have never been to in Alamo Drafthouse, you can expect comfortable seating, delicious food, and a full bar. The theaters are also super clean. You can tell that the staff takes pride in what they do. This particular location has reclining seats. This is the movie theater for movie lovers. In addition to new releases, they often show old favorites (ex: Alfred Hitchcock movies, lord of the rings series, classic old rom coms, Studio Ghibli, etc.). The Alamo Drafthouse app makes it so easy to check out what's playing. Alamo also offers fun events like movie parties, where guests are given fun props in line with the movie themes, and are encouraged to quote or sing along. The food here is super good and great portions for the price. I love the hand breaded chicken tenders and personal pizzas. There are vegetarian and vegan options (cauliflower "wings", vegan pizza, vegan burgers, vegan cookies) and you can purchase healthier options like salads. I can't say enough good things about Alamo Drafthouse, and the Westminster location is so lovely! Alamo Drafthouse has unfortunately gone so downhill in the last year, since they were purchased by Sony. It used to be my favorite place to go for movies, and I've been a season pass holder for a few years now. They've gotten rid of all of the things that make Alamo great. They cut a ton of items from the menu, got rid of wait staff, switched to QR only ordering, and cut down the amount of time you have during the movie to place a food or drink order. They don't check tickets, so anyone can enter the theater and sit wherever they want, and you then have to be the one to let someone know if they're in the seat you purchased. The food quality has also gone down a significant amount. I used to have no problem paying Alamo costs because of the amazing food, drinks, and service, but without any of those things, there is no way to justify what Alamo charges. I'm sad to cancel my season pass, but I can get a better experience elsewhere. read more

Love eating dinner in front of the big screens! Alamo was first go to spot upon moving to Denver a couple years ago. We couldn't get enough of the truffle popcorn and chicken tenders! The big show theater is definitely the way to go with better sound and more seating. Went back recently after a few months not going and was a bit disappointed in service as we had to order soda refills multiple times before getting one and the truffle popcorn is no longer bottomless :( The tenders, pizza, and friend pickles are our favorite items. I love Alamo. We come to this location when we can't see what we want at the Sloans Lake location. Theaters here are bigger and the seats recline which is very nice. Always fun short segments before the main attraction make you want to come early and hang out. Each seat here has its own table so you aren't sharing any space. Parking, now that the area is built up, the city charges for street parking. Swing out a couple of blocks to the east to find feee Street parking. There is also a paid lot nearby.
