So we tried Avant. I thought the price was reasonable and when we arrived I asked about the possible possibility of paying more to get a car with cruise control and they provided provided one, a Chinese sedan for not much more than the original quote. I had a minor problem in the sense that some part of the door look that was external fell off, a small plastic part and I communicated that to them and they didn't charge me anything for this slight mishap. Overall, a fantastic experience. I would recommend them to anyone and rent from them in the future.

Honest, Affordable, Hassle-Free Best Rental Experience in…read moreCancun If you're researching car rentals in Cancun, you've probably seen horror stories about hidden fees and airport scams. The experience: * Reservation confirmed within a day * Clear arrival instructions and contact info * Friendly reminder the day before * Shuttle ready to take us to their office The car: We had an older Chrysler - modest, showing some age, but the engine, tires, and A/C were all solid (A/C is a MUST in Mexican heat!). Plenty of space for luggage, easy to drive, and small enough for all the parking spots. The process: Sign the documents, make a deposit, and you're on your way. Returning the car was just as easy, full tank, tipped the staff for the shuttle back to the airport. Smooth and painless. The price: We paid exactly what we were quoted - no surprises. $198 for 5 days, including full insurance. A $400 deposit was required, which was promptly returned. A few honest notes: * Gas is expensive in Mexico, but that's universal * A slightly newer car with Bluetooth would've been nice, especially for rougher roads So happy to support a small business that actually does right by customers. Do your research and book Avant with confidence. I'd rent from them again in a heartbeat. Bottom line: straightforward, no-BS, highly recommended.

The driver, Pepe, was enthusiastic, positive and funny. It's a short drive to the office, where the check-in was efficient and congenial with Daniel. The original quote was honored, and there was no problem declining CDW as coverage is provided by my credit card. NO Hidden Fees. We were given a new car that got us safely to Mahajual in 6 hours. Returning the car was hassle-free, and we were quickly returned to the airport. For added convenience, there's a Pemex right next door. EasyWay provided outstanding customer service and a car with only 600 km. Highly recommended.

The price was exactly what I saw online, no hidden fees. Perfect. The car, however, was not. It was an absolute beater. Scratches, dents, and missing parts all over. Then I'm told if scratches/dents happen I have to call it in. There would literally be no way for me to know because it was covered in them. The engine was loud but the car worked, so off we went. I wanted to plug in my phone to see the directions but there was no spot to plug in my phone and no display. Not a big deal, my husband was my copilot. Two days after arrival we took the car out exploring. All went well. The next day I had planned to go to a cenote with a friend but the car was dead. Called the number twice. No answer. Messaged in. 30 minutes later I get a call back. They would send someone from a satellite office and he should be there within 20 minutes. He tried charging the car, no luck. He gave me the car he had, which was much nicer. Off we went to the cenote! Three days later we were ready to head back to the airport and it had a flat. There was a screw in the tire. The resort filled it up and we were on our way. When we returned the car the lady told a guy to check the tires and specifically pointed to the one that had the screw, as if she already knew. I'm thinking it was there when the car was delivered to us. The whole thing just felt shady. The price for a week was just over $200 with all the insurance, which is great, but I won't rent from them again.

Listen, all car rental places in Cancun are kinda weird. You're not in the USA anymore, but this…read moreplace is as safe as it can get. The reality is that you either have to buy insurance or you have to have a large deposit put on your card. There's no going around it. My work code includes some insurance, so they only charge me half the deposit, and when I return the car, they refund it immediately. So really, you're going to have to have a couple of thousand USD in space on your card if you rent without insurance. The cars are okay, but you don't need luxury anyway. Radio and AC work well, so that's fine. I would actually recommend getting a smaller car, just to be able to navigate and park more easily, thought they only have 2 classes - economy and standard. This place is better than some super shady outfits in the USA, but if you know the rules, you'll be fine.

I had a very disappointing and costly experience renting from Enterprise in Cancun…read more I booked my rental through Expedia for $245 and specifically selected additional insurance coverage, which was included in the price I paid. A few days before my trip, I received a text from Enterprise confirming my reservation and asking if I wanted to add insurance. Since I had already purchased coverage through Expedia, I checked "yes," assuming it referred to the same coverage. At no point was any price disclosed. When I arrived, the office environment felt more like a high-pressure sales floor than a professional rental counter. The agents acted more like commission-based salespeople, repeatedly pushing upgrades and additional charges. I declined multiple attempts to upsell me to a larger vehicle, only to be told they didn't even have the class of car I reserved and had to give me a larger one anyway. The real shock came when I returned the car. I was charged an additional $987. I later learned that by checking the box for "additional coverage," I had unknowingly agreed to insurance costing about $60 per day--far exceeding the cost of the rental itself. This was never clearly explained or disclosed. After returning home, I contacted customer service to explain that I believed I was confirming the insurance I had already purchased through Expedia. While they acknowledged the situation was "regrettable," they refused to issue any refund. I travel to Mexico frequently and have rented many cars, but this was by far the worst experience I've had. The lack of transparency and aggressive sales tactics are extremely concerning. I'm honestly surprised this location has so many positive reviews--my experience suggests many customers may not even realize how much they're being charged. I will never rent from Enterprise again in Cancun and strongly advise others to review every charge carefully and be extremely cautious when accepting any add-ons.

New wheels (which is very important in this part of mexico as most of streets have huge holes), small visible scratches which we marked on documents. All in all car was clean and had decent acceleration and enough space for 2+2 family (Chevrolet Onix) We drove this car from Cancun to Tulum, Merida, El Cuyo and many other smaller trips in the mean time and never had any problems. Giving back car was also arranged on airport, which took us 5 mins. No need to wash car and vacuum. They do it all for you. Great experience. I prepaid for a rental via Capital One Travel. My voucher explicitly stated: "Third party liability protection (TP): Includes 16% tax" with coverage up to 1M pesos. When I arrived at the counter, the agent and the manager refused to honor this. They lied and told me I had ZERO coverage. We argued for two hours, showing them the written proof on our voucher. They gave us an ultimatum: Pay an extra $500 USD for the liability coverage we already bought, or forfeit the car and our prepaid money. We were forced to pay under duress just to get the keys. When I contacted Avis Corporate, they admitted in writing that my reservation did include the mandatory liability coverage. Yet, they refused to refund the double charge, claiming I "voluntarily" chose to buy it again. This is a predatory business practice. They lie about your valid coverage to force you to pay double, then hide behind the signature they coerced out of you. Avoid Avis Cancun at all costs.

Ive rented now 4 times in the Yucatan from 4 different companies and the basics are all the same. I actually found that on my recent 1 week rental from America Car Rental / Economy I got the best deal so far. First things first. Always get the full insurance. There is no getting around this. We are so spoiled in the US and Canada by our credit cards or personal car insurance being accepted. America gave me a price for full insurance with NO-Deductible. Thats what you want. It was basically $50 US a day. Not bad when my rental was only $18 US a day. LOL This is what gets ridiculous in Mexico - the pricing schemes. That being said I reversed into a palm tree and busted the rear door and completely shattered the rear window exposing everything. They drove from Cancun to Tulum (2 Hours) with a replacement car that day. When I returned the car, I thought perhaps things are going to go sideways. Nope, they returned my deposit (500 USD) and that was the end of it. I even checked by credit card after returning a few times. All good. My total cost for the week rental was $328 USD fully insured. My trip was October 2023. As long as they keep it up, Id say this compnay is great.
