In my opinion it's the best place to get Mexican food in Cullman. they are efficient and great service and the food is delicious

I've been to this restaurant several times over the years and never had a single complaint. Today we went here for lunch and had a group of 30 people to celebrate multiple birthdays. The entire staff was accommodating and did an EXCELLENT job of making sure that we had everything we needed. The food came out in a timely manner and was served hot and fresh! I had the grilled chicken fajita salad and it was very flavorful! Everyone else loved their food as well. We'll be back for sure! read more

Sweet waiter and delicious margarita. I had the shredded beef enchiladas and highly recommend them. My hubby had carnitas and he loved it. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants authentic Mexican food. This is not a taco bell wanna be. Excellent flavor in all their dishes. The inside is cute and much larger inside than it looks from the outside. Parking is a bit tough when they're busy. It is located in a gas station! NO kidding but don't let that turn you off. This is quite literally the BEST Mexican food I have ever had in my life. Alamitos is the best kept secret in Cullman. I've never had anything bad here. They have the best salsa and queso. The mixed drinks are on point. The portions are good size and more than enough for me to have leftovers for a meal later. The servers are all really nice and make great suggestions and is usually really quick. read more

My family and I eat here at least once, sometimes twice a week... or used too. It has gone downhill in service and food quality to a level below the worst Taco Bell you could imagine. They can't get a togo order correct no matter how easy the order is, and dine in is just as bad. Every time you call ,no one answers the phone. When you walk in and the phone is still ringing , there are five employees sitting in a corner booth on their phones. I've had to drive back three or the last four times I've ordered takeout food..,for things as simple as them forgetting to put the flour tortillas in the bag in a single order of chicken fajitas. Alamitos is by far the worst Mexican restaurant in north Alabama. It cost time and money when you have to return to the restaurant to get what they left out. Consistently making careless mistakes, and having employees who are too lazy to answer a phone or apologize when they waste your time and money is a sign of a poorly run business. If that is what you allow to interface with a customer and the service standards you keep, I'd hate to see where the food is cooked. I would say shut the place down and start drywalling or roofing but then you'd be getting sued for doing such a crappy job....now all you have to do when you screw up is say "have a good evening sir" and get back on TikTok. read more

The service was great. Immediately seated and served. The grilled enchiladas were yummy with a slightly smoky taste. I lived in Texas for 30 years and finding Mexican food that I'm happy with in Alabama is rare but this one hits the spot! Highly recommend Enchiladas are awesome! read more

The food is delicious and the service is great. Of all the Mexican restaurants in Cullman, this is my favorite and the prices are reasonable. I can't complain about the ambiance. Don't let the location be off putting. They are located in a building that is attached to a gas station but they have separate parking which is sufficient for the restaurant. read more

I eat Mexican food in every town I visit. This place was very slow and disorganized. Mostly known for their carry out, which I can't speak of, but it must be pretty good because I saw a few carry out orders. I ordered a Speedy G, and the enchilada was pretty good, but the crispy taco was so greasy and soft (the shell tasted like old cooking oil) that it wasn't worth eating. As an on the job traveler, receipts are very important but their receipt system is strictly text or email, which is fine if you care to take the time to input all of your information. There's a few other options in town that I would try before I went back. When you've driven 300 miles, and you're expecting your taco to be crispy, it takes your rating from a three to a two. Food was not good. For the length of time we waited for food to be served, it should have been amazing. Chimichanga was a soft, mushy texture and was too salty. Burritos were extremely salty and lacked, well everything. No rice, no beans, just salty chicken and what was supposed to be beef. Fish tacos were also lacking in everything. It appeared to be one medium sized tilapia filet divided between 3 soggy soft shells. There was maybe a tablespoon of rice in each and that was it. The salad consisted of large hunks of cabbage with brown, over-ripe avocado on top. Salsa was just this side of tomato sauce. Very disappointed. read more

This is the second time I have eaten here. I tried the seafood taco salad and the street tacos with a side of Verde and guacamole. I can honestly say it's the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. The food is awesome service is fast and friendly and prices are reasonable I encourage everyone to try it. I don't know what they put in their salsa--yes, just the salsa they bring to the table--but it is magic. At some point, I'm probably going to end up just pouring the bowl in my purse. "Can I get extra salsa?" I asked, while picking up a takeout order. "Like this much?" the host asked, forming his hands in a bowl shape roughly the same size as the bowl they bring to the table. "More than that." Cut to: Me walking out of the restaurant with my order and a large drink cup filled with salsa. MAGIC. The rest of the food is good, too. I usually stick to the fajitas, but I'm sure I wouldn't be disappointed by anything else I ordered. Nice staff as well. read more

Our favorite local place for Mexican food! Funny that it's on the side of a gas station, but it adds to its authenticity. Fast, friendly and tasty. Good chips and salsa while you're waiting. My family and I always enjoy eating at this restaurant. I try to order different things each time I go, and I have not been disappointed yet. Everything I have ordered has been great! Great salsa. Wasn't a fan of the guacamole as it was too "whipped". We had burritos, enchiladas, and a flauta. The flauta was also cooked in a way I had not seen. Too doughy and not fried enough for my taste. Margaritas were good. Folks next to us had the fajitas which looked good and we'd probably get next time. But chips and salsa were very good. I wouldn't call this exceptional but it was good for a Saturday night. read more
