A5 Wagyu, marinated ribeye wagyu, filet mignon, prime Korean bbq, wasabi, and kimchi All so dang delicious

This is somewhere I've been meaning to review for a long time! Coming here feels like you are visiting family! They are so kind and loving! Jo is truly one of the kindest human beings I've ever met in my life and he is so genuine everything he says is honest and kind. It also smells amazing in here! Now the meat... Wow! It's the most high quality and best priced meats of any place you could ever go to. A5 Japanese Wagyu is only just one of the many high quality items they have here. Even their marinated meats are out of this word delicious and super fresh with the best quality. I can't recommend here enough and everyone I know I tell them to come here. I can't wait for my next time here The pictures I'm posting are from 2 different times I came and both times were out of this world (I tried Australian wagyu and Japanese wagyu from them and both were incredible )

Came here to get some Wagyu Rib Eyes with my brother and mom. They had a good selection of meat and offered a selection of grocery items too, but we were just here for the meat. We were in and out of there in about 10 minutes and my brother was excited to get these meats grilled. The meat was pretty good and my brother and I thoroughly enjoyed eating the meat. Glad we got to try them out!

The specialty meats are good. I just didn't appreciate being sold old lule kabob. I got different meats, they were all great. But the lule he didn't have it on display but got it from the back and i didn't check until i got home. Its so embarrassing to sell old lule from left overs, it would have been more respectful if you said "we dont have it" rather than pack me garbage

Prime grade ribeye from Alameda Market

The Joe brothers were very welcoming the moment I walked in the door. I knew I wanted a USDA Prime grade ribeye. They cut exactly what I needed. I didn't know what to get for my kid, so they made a recommendation. When I cooked the steaks, the result was better than anything I've ever had at a steakhouse. We did a reverse sear on the 2lbs ribeyes. Thanks to the keen eye and recommendations of the Joes, we had an amazing steak dinner party.

Meat so good you can smell the picture.

Love coming here. Quality is always on point. Workers are always nice and social. Definitely get the prime rib.

Ask the Community - Alameda Market

Do you carry grass-fed, grass-FINISHED meat? Important that it's grass-finished, because "grain-finished" not great for carnivore diet. Thanks!

Yes our prime Rib eye, prime skirt, prime flap meat and our chuck are all grass finished. We also have our house favorite marinated ready to cook products that is an experience to try them. Thanks

Do you guys carry any angus or Waygu beef?

Yes, all our beef is either usda prime or wagyu (Australian and Japanese). 100% grass-fed

Can you debone chicken thighs and leave the skin on?

Sorry we only get boneless thighs.

Do you guys cook the meat if i order the meat?

No... unfortunately we don't have the facility to cook. It's just straight butcher shop with a lot of high quality meat with delicious marination.

True GOATS in the Armenian Kabob game right now!…read more Spicy chicken breast, Luleh kabob, and pork ribs are TOP TIER. (The real holy trinity) Unmatched flavor. That's all I gotta say. Sometimes there's a line out the door cause the meat is so DARN GOOD. I remember I had a friend invite me to his home around October of 24', and while visiting he asked me if I have had their spicy chicken breast. Immediate answer was nope, what is it? He looked at me like I was living under a rock. Let me tell you all it is the best chicken for grilling I have ever had! Spicy chicken breast is the BEST. The Luleh is perfection as well. And can't leave the pork ribs out either. Super flavorful, not overly seasoned either; just right. I'm talking about it's all SUPER BOMB. Mixed with the flaming smoke of either mesquite or oak charcoal this will have you salivating every time it's BBQ season. For us Armenians, it's BBQ season 24/7 365! Also while we are on the topic of BBQ. I mean the kind you skewer through a spit, sheesh, or SEEKH (whatever you call it)and flip every other minute on a mangal. Had to use all the terms of the skewer since there are many other renditions people utilize. Also mangal is a charcoal grill shaped like a rectangle to grill ANYTHING you can eat. If you don't have a skewer, charcoal, or a grill yes you can find them here for SALE! Small meat market with all the goods like yogurt, beans, some salads to go but the real gem here are the meats. Also can't leave out how friendly the service is here. Makes you almost feel at home with how welcoming everyone is. SPICY CHICKEN BREAST, Luleh kabob and PORK RIBS!

Between a ciabatta loaf, it is different and non-traditional. It tastes fatty and hearty as Pastrami should be. It is evenly seasoned and paired with a modern twist; they call their pepper relish. Portioned as a single serving, it is not your deli-sized sandwich like it should be. Other sandwiches and savory items are equally creative and of good quality. There is no doubt that there is great-tasting food here, and you can notice the attention to detail. Unfortunately, you will spend a premium here. Feeling the pinch is as lacking as the need for a nice, fluffy Rye with a crispy crust.

6* Food 6* Quality…read moreQuality and quantity stand out here! I initially ordered a chicken lule kabob for my assistant. While waiting, I could see through the transparent glass window as generous portions of high quality meat were being grilled over Royal Oak charcoal. The aroma alone was irresistible and I ended up ordering beef lule and marinated ribeye as well. My family and I were blown away by the flavor and quality of both. The portions are generous, and the flavors from the marinades and spices are rich and completely satisfying. The kabobs are juicy and can be served on rice or in wraps. Personally, I appreciated the option to purchase just the skewers to take home, since we prefer enjoying them hot over fresh rice with melted butter. The menu offers a wide variety of kabobs, including chicken, beef, pork, quail, and cornish hen. The market and restaurant are exceptionally clean; very impressive!! That said, I would recommend ordring to go, as seating is limited and the atmosphere is minimal. While waiting, I noticed many customers doing the same and also purchasing meats to take home and grill on their own. Theres also a small market section offering drinks, breads, homemade Armenian specialties, and condiments. Parking is convenent, and the location is on the corner of Western and Glenoaks (easy to access from both streets). Bravo to the owners for creating such a high quality restaurant and market. I hope it continues to maintain this standard! We are a fan and I can't imagine getting my kabobs anywhere else in LA.

Imagine rows of radicchio, rainbow chard, exquisite endive, squash blossoms, sunchokes and artichokes, fennel with their fronds tangled in long red chilies surrounded by pungent herbs like perilla, lovage, tarragon. An extra star just for that. But... My only gripe is their weekly Saturday BBQ. Through the years I have enjoyed both kinds of ribs, the brisket, sausages, turkey and chicken that they cook and smoke right outside in the parking lot. Even if you don't see it, you'll smell it within a couple blocks. I can't think of a better way to promote a bbq business and Handy Market knows it. They're counting on all the new customers who get lured in by the intoxicating scent of grilled meats on live fire to try this sad, sorry excuse that they call BBQ. All the meats are dry, tasteless and overcooked. They do not season any of the meat, not even a lick of salt. They want you to buy their sugary bbq sauce and baste them on the grill. Meaning you still have to finish cooking it at home but it was tasty enough and the price was low so it was worth doing for many years. Lately though, it's been expensive and inedible. The quality of all the meat has become sus and I was sold the driest beef ribs with texture like leather, that they probably dug up from the back of a freezer and a smelly turkey leg that's left over from like, Thanksgiving. My homemade bbq sauce could not save either meat and suffice to say I will never order barbecue from here again. What's happened to you, Handy Mart? I just can't believe you've slipped so far. This is the worst bbq in all of LA and I cannot recommend anyone eating here. Those brave souls who do not heed this cautionary tale cannot say you haven't been warned. Good luck.
