Professional yes but until my recent visits to btyDental in Tacoma, I just thought that hospitality just wasn't a priority with dental offices. OMG, these folks at btyDental are of a different breed. A dentist who I swear to gawd, was like a concerned father when it came to my dental condition. He was awesome. The front office and dental assistants treated me like family. What more can I say? I am sharing these terrible experiences so others can be aware and stand clear. It first started with my eldest daughter who had a severely cracked tooth, coupled with infection. Rather than treating the infection before extracting the tooth, he chose to pull it out while she had an infection, causing terrifyingly painful dry socket that lasted over a week. He didn't even prescribe the antibiotic dosage correctly to address the infection immediately as there was no initial mega dose at the beginning, just 1 every 6 hours. And at my younger daughter's appointment, they could not get an adequate crown from the lab. This happened twice and he brought up the state insurance as if that is a reason to provide bottom level care. When he did the mold/impression again, he first drilled her tooth down to the base like her tooth was the problem for the unnaturally shaped and oversized crown. He also he got very defensive and aggressive because we were opposed to the defective crown that he wanted to use on her, which looked completely unnatural, clunky like a piano key and was one & half times the size. My daughter was clearly distressed and tearful, saying she doesn't want that in her mouth, but he disregarded her anguish and stuck it in anyway, after his dental hygienist, Tammie, already said she could have a temporary tooth redone while they send a new impression to the lab, but the dentist took over and said you're not getting a temporary today and he put the defective crown in and sent her out the door looking like Mr. Ed. She was mortified. When we drove home, she broke down into tears and said she couldn't go to school and that her tooth hurt from him drilling it down so far again and putting the glue and crown on it. I called to tell them she needed it off and to have a temporary tooth done because what they have on her was hurting after he filed her tooth down and put on the defective crown and it's pushing against her surrounding teeth and hurting her gums, and that she was not able to go to school with physical and emotional pain. He didn't care and said that was the best he could do and to wait for the crown to come back. Unbelievable! We would never go back there, ever.

I LOST SOME GUM TISSUE IN THE PROCESS, WHICH DOESNT GROW BACK. (This is not supposed to happen) After the deep cleaning,,, they changed the initial measurements of my gum line. The prior measurements of 3's&4's before the cleaning became 4's&5's after the cleaning Ill be following up on this. To make matter worse, since i was in soo much pain due to the gum loss and the gum tissue being so swollen and inflamed. I asked Dr pavlov for 1 or 2 pain pills to get me through the next 24hrs. Dr Pavlov, became dismissive and flippant. He rudely stated that my request was highly unusual. I didnt ask for anything more to get me through a 24hour period. Lets not forget his staff caused this issue. He didnt even take the time to examine my tore up gums. Yeah, how dare I ask for pain relief when im experiencing pain that your practice caused. Im a 58 yo professional/USAF. And he treated me like a drug seeking addict. Even though they caused the issue by their shoddy performance of cleaning my teeth. I dont tolerate being treated this way. ESP AFTER THE POOR LEVEL OF SERVICE THAT I RECEIVED. No empathy whatsoever. I dont know if he was having a bad day, Or if thats just his normal demeaner. He was also rude to one of his staff members. We were referred based on treatment he recommended but when my son's X-rays came back there was more than we even knew. Laura and the staff were amazing and helped to explain a plan of action to make things as easy as possible for myself and 4 yr old. I'm sad that we weren't able to come here originally, it may have saved us tons in dental work for our 4 year old.
