I woke up one day, December 2016, with hives all over my body and had no idea why or what to do. I…read moreimmediately went to a Dermatologist who told me I had acute urticaria (a form of hives). They gave me a steroid shot, put me on some meds and sent me on my way. When things became worse, I went to visit a second Dermatologist, who then recommended I see an Allergist. Blood tests were always normal, no allergies ever came up and it got to a point where the doctors would just tell me, "I don't know what it is. Take these meds and hopefully it'll go away on its own." After seeing 5 doctors multiple times over the course of 7 to 8 months, my mom recommended I fly back home to Michigan (I live in Texas) to see her Primary Care Provider. After hesitation and thinking to myself, "Why would I spend money to fly all the way home to see someone who will probably run the same tests?," I made the appointment and booked my flight. ONE VISIT, ONE APPOINTMENT, and I received an emailed report and phone call of the exact issue, the causes and the treatment. Nurse Practitioner Tamika Morrow was very thorough, professional and was sure to follow-up throughout my 3 month treatment plan that was given to me. Upon completing the treatment, my hives were completely gone. I hate that it took 8 months of wasted money dealing with incompetent doctors who only did surface level requirements but I'm grateful that Synergy Health & Wellness was able to get me back to good health. Great service. Great staff. I would definitely recommend their services to anyone and will be flying back to Michigan annually for my regular health checkins. I wouldn't trust anyone else.

Fast forward a few years and I am really interested in doing a blood test to see what kind of deficiencies I have and I had no dr. to go to. Dr. Kapatais was referred to me by a friend whose referrals I trust... so I gave in and went. I honestly didn't know if she'd spend two minutes with me or even do the testing because doctors seem to always want to tell you "you're fine" and send you on your way. I know I am a pretty healthy girl, but I was really interested to see my deficiencies. Not only did Dr.K listen to me, she helped me navigate through my fear of flying, which came up randomly because she actually talks to you and helped me understand more natural and realistic ways of dealing with my health, which is what I was so excited about. I have never felt like a doctor actually cared about me, until I met Dr.K.

FRAUD! This place Dr. Lawrence practices at should be called "The Endocrine Learing Center". First…read moreyou will only speak to the actual Dr. on your 1st visit, every time following that you will only speak with their "assistant". The assistants are good, but seem to be over worked because they NEVER follow up on anything they discuss with you. You will have to continuously call back to request for follow up on the things you discussed with them. I went in for an insulin pump on my 1st visit and gave up after a year of seeing no progress. I went to my PCP instead and had a pump within a month. You will also have to wait at least 6 months to get an appointment to speak with these "assistants". Here's the straw that finally broke the camel's back for me. I had a heart attack and while in the hospital one of the Doctors from this fraudulent office stopped into my room each day. They looked at my blood pressure and said, "Your blood pressure looks good, I'll stop back later to discuss your diabetes with you." They never stopped back later to discuss my diabetes but came back the very next day with the exact same story..."your blood pressure looks good, I'll stop back later." When I reviewed my hospital billing, those visits where they stopped in to tell me my blood pressure looked good were billed as "Endocrine Specialist Diabetes Counselling". This is obviously insurance fraud and likely the reason you can never see the actual Doctor at your office visits. The Doctors are too busy scanning the patient logs at the hospitals to see who has diabetes so they can make these 5 minute blood pressure comment visits and charge them as diabetes specialist counselling visitations while they have hired assistants acting as Doctors at their office. Don't just walk, but RUN away from this fraud of a Doctor!

She is thorough without being judgmental and offers a fresh, thoughtful approach to treatment. She listens and never interrupts and truly is caring and attentive. She is exceptionally knowledgeable about new treatment options, is updated and well-read on many health issues that concern her patients. I'm not sure how she has time to read every study, blind trial, and medical journal out there, but she has! It might take awhile to get an appointment, but that just speaks to her popularity as more patients find her and love her.

I've been a patient at this practice for several years and had been taking the same long-term…read moreprescription without any issues. Originally, my prescription was for 1 1/2 pills, which meant I had to split a pill each day. At my last routine physical, I mentioned to Dr. Kastl that I had been taking 2 pills instead because it wasn't always convenient to cut them, and the difference in dosage was minimal. She agreed and officially changed my prescription to 2 pills. Six months later, when I requested a refill, I was told I had to schedule a medication check before it would be approved. I scheduled and attended the appointment, which lasted about five minutes and involved no meaningful discussion or changes to my treatment. The following week, I received a $150 bill for that brief visit. I contacted Dr. Kastl multiple times to express my concern and pointed out that, based on my understanding of Michigan law and federal guidelines, the medication I take does not require a mandatory six-month follow-up. Rather than acknowledging my concerns or showing any empathy, my messages were dismissed by simply stating "it's our policy". In this situation, patient care took a back seat to billing. After being a loyal patient for years, I was extremely disappointed by how this was handled. I will not be returning to this practice and would encourage others to carefully consider their options when choosing a primary care provider.
