I have purchased The Olive and The Grape's vinegars & oils when they had a Kamm's Corner's location…read moreand then at the Westside Market and wow! Great to have in as staples in your cooking and awesome gifts. These are excellent products and how great to have these right here in Cleveland. But sadly, it really doesn't matter what you sell if your customer service is dismal. Despite great products you might as well NOT buy these unless you want that to be a 1-time experience because after that you will *NEVER AGAIN* be able to get them. The Westside Market inventory is very limited and the clerk there clearly is neither invested in the product or knowledgeable. The answer always is to stop my next time or the next week but the next week nothing will have changed -- same limited inventory, same lack of explanation. My most recent visit he told me I should call the Mentor store or email them to get the product at Westside Market. But guess what -- emails to the website are *never* answered. Calls to the store during the hours listed on the website, *no one ever answers* and when you leave a voice mail you will *never* get a response. The website does say they now have an online store but most of their products are not listed and the *website is non-functional* -- links do not work and you cannot order products. So there you have it! This is a business that has missed out on the very basic tenets of running a successful business -- valuing your customers new and repeat. It's looking to me that this is a business looking to file for bankruptcy in the near future because if you can't provide the product you sell then really, do you have a viable business? If you can't maintain your customers who want to buy your product then do you have a viable business? Rhetorical questions. Seriously. Rhetorical. I wish I could say "run, don't walk and buy these great products" but instead let's go with, "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" (never mind that I've been fooled many more times than twice!) Bottom Line: Don't bother with this business -- find another locally owned business to give your support and your money. The End -- and it isn't a happy ending. REST IN PEACE, The Olive and The Grape.

The cashier came out as soon as we walked in and greeted us with a friendly smile. There are so many different hot sauces, rubs and spices here I didn't know where to start first. I just window shopped this time but I will be back to purchase something soon!

I have…read morebeen going to Chilli's since right around the first year they opened (Don - help me out here - early 2000's?) Don (and sometimes his better-half wife) man their store. If you are a diehard chilli-head Don will will talk to you as much as you like about "heat". He is great to point out new products or offerings that he think will fit your bill. I venture out from the far westside area (Rocky River) so I make the excursion only a couple times a year and I'm always spending near $100 worth of products (Don, why do you entice me?). This is one where the 5 star rating is more than justified because it is such a unique store. They have spices and rubs that are flavorful, some hot but many not spicy. Their main emphasis is bottled hot sauces but they also offer a variety of many salsas (mild to XXX-hot, bbq sauces, mustards, a little apparel, a few "pepper themed" knick-nacks, candy, etc. I strongly recommend a visit in to see if your spice nitch is covered.

Rudy's Quality Meats - I love the individually wrapped, hand written meats. And they have their own line of spice rubs now!

I was reminded about Rudy's by my son who gets a lot of meat here for smoking in his smoker. I've been by twice and the first time was just so so. My problem was that I didn't order ahead.! The great thing about this place is they are busy! It's a popular place! There are guys in the back butchering and cutting up meat! It is pretty cool to watch! This is truly a homey place and I can see why my mom visited for her meat needs and she ordered ahead! When you walk in, you can tell there are a lot of regulars. People take numbers, get their meats, have conversations. A nice and welcoming vibe. I ordered an Easter Ham from David. He was great in explaining the difference between bone in, boneless and cooking differences. I did a boneless sliced ham and it was perfect for my own glaze. Everyone enjoyed and the ham itself was good. Not salty or fatty. I will definitely be back and if there is something specific I want, I will call ahead. They are really great and I highly recommend!
