The owners are very friendly and are happy to advise on colour schemes etc as well as order items in, if you want them in a different size or colour to those they have in stock. Pumpkin also have a little vintage tearooms at the back of the store with cakes and tea being served on china plates and cups and saucers. Altogether it is a lovely place to wile away an hour or two.

I love all the sleek lines, modern materials and beautiful woods included in the collection. As well as new designs, they also stock Modern classics like Eames, Panton and Noguchi. For me, I can but dream that one day I'll be picking my way around this showroom on the back of a lottery win or family windfall. Great style NEVER comes cheap.

It is darkly lit and almost like walking into a trendy wine bar as you enter its sophisticated doorway. This is not a place for antiques or vintage finds, Dwell is exclusively for contemporary living- it does not sell furniture, it sells "pieces" darling and it is a place where furniture lovers will find the focal point they have been searching for, for their designer pads. Every room in the house is catered for in a sleek and stylish fashion; sofas are angular and impressive, dining chairs are futuristic and the beds look straight out of MTV Cribs. The lighting section is second to none, and I am in awe of the pendant wine glass chandelier which costs £199 and is a real talking point. Dwell is simply good taste and prices vary from the affordable to the expensive- another light fixture which has caught my eye is £600. Dwell is a supermodel of a furniture shop, traditionalists will hate it, but post modernists will adore it. The staff are friendly and its customer base favour city centre thirty-somethings with a bit of cash. If you fancy splashing out for your urban dwelling then Dwell is right up your busy, congested, city street.

Not sure what they do the rest of the year but this is the simplest, most organised christmas tree shopping I have ever done and I was well pleased with the product and the experience. You got 3 types of trees and 4 - 5 ranges of height, organised in rows. Bloody simple, and the trees look pretty good too. I don't know what are the prices but we paid £37 for a 5-6ft Nordman. Job done !
