Lunch was decent here. The food was amazing, as was the ambiance. Service was lacking. Our waitress upcharged us on the receipt, and she wouldn't fix it at the end. It was also hard to get her attention even though there were only 2 other tables seated. Very disappointing. The food was quite amazing though. Great little Mediterranean restaurant. We had the hummus. It was great. Served with hot pita bread. We also had the assortment of baked empenada like things. They were wonderful. Despite some of the negative reviews on here, I really enjoyed this place. Coming from La Familia Sagrada, my boyfriend found this restaurant on google (4.5 star rating with almost 1.5k reviews) and wanted to try it out. Me being 7 months pregnant with a complex appetite who doesn't normally eat middle eastern food, I decided to give it a try as well. We went around 6:30pm on a Tuesday and there were only 2 other tables taken then. The place is small and cozy with outdoor seating and the service was excellent. My boyfriend ordered himself a hookah and the dumpling assortment for us to share. Dumplings were delicious and a perfect plate for us to try a little bit of everything. For our meals I ordered the Kafta Tahina and my boyfriend ordered the Xix mixto. The Kafta Tahina was perfect for someone who's new to trying new things and hasn't eaten middle eastern food before- very much enjoyed. The Xix mixto was great with a variety of things and perfect portion. After spending the past 4 days here in Spain, we've had trouble finding a place that serves plates big enough to keep us full until the next morning- most spots we've been to only had small plates. I found Aladdin on Trip Advisor - 4/5 stars + 50% off if you book a table online. I was sold. This restaurant has a fairly decent size terrace area and narrow dining hall inside. The server was very friendly upon arrival. Overall service lacked - it took a while to order, to get our food and to get our check, but considering they were busy - I get it. The food was very disappointing. Let me explain. Appetizers - Baba Ganush 5.75 Euros - This tasted like pico de gallo from Baja Fresh Halumi cheese - 6.90 euros - (6) pieces. Every time I go somewhere and see Halumi, I always have to get it no matter what! The texture of this was rubbery and dry. It still tasted good but I was expecting a warm creamier touch. Main Entree - #57 - Combination of chicken, veal, lamb kabob with hummus, mutabal, falafel and fries. Let me break this down for you: Chicken - well seasoned and easy Lamb Kebab - dry, spices were off - didn't like it at all Veal - didn't need much seasoning - this was probably the best thing on the plate Hummus - average Mutabal - Great smoked eggplant w/ lemon Fries - COLD and tasted as it was sitting out for a while. Desserts - We got a combination of baklava - LOVED it - but I believe this is from a bakery and not made in their own restaurant. Quite possibly my new favorite restaurant in the world. If you've been in Spain for a month like me and have gotten a little sick of the local cuisine, go to Aladdin! I may be a bit biased because I already love Lebanese food but man oh man the food here is insanely good, tastes homemade. On top of that, the shisha is smooth and cheap, and the service is fantastic. The decor transports you to a Bedouin tent somewhere. This was probably one of my favorite eating experiences during our week long trip. We had our 14month old with us which is always a little unpredictable. Hiding away from the sagrada familia this charm Is actually a runaway from an Arabian princes crown. It's like stepping into alladins palace to discover that the mezes and plates are made with love and passion. We shared the sharing platter filled with filled pita (the meat one was superb. The cheese one cheesy), kibbeh, houmous and baba ganoush both excellent, falafels...bit dry but tasty, kebabs, rice , aubergine and click peas stew and spinach parcels . washed Dow.
