I guess this place used to be called Bebo's too (there's a Bebo's BBQ) in Isla Verde. We ended up here after going to Bebo's in Isla Verde, Carolina and being vey disappointed with the lack of lechón (pork).
Everything we ate at AL's was good and service was efficient and friendly. The restaurant is out of doors and clean. They have a bar but it felt family friendly (we were there during the late afternoon on a Saturday)
The pork was tender and very well seasoned. We also had arroz con gandules, potato salad, macaroni salad, maduros, and bolitas de yuca (cooked mofongo style). Everything was great, especially the yuca. I'm not a fan of yuca but this made up for the fact that they didn't have mofongo.
I'm only giving them 4 stars because even though mofongo (traditional and delicious green plantain mash), bi-fongo, and tri-fongo were in the menu, they didn't have any. Also, they do not have cuajitos (cow stomach) and that's just sad.
I'm glad we gave AL's a chance. read more
