As soon as we had a room we tossed all our luggage inside and went for a walk. It was about 10pm local time and we were just crossing our fingers hoping to find a good Italian meal. Well our hotel is located on the mainland and unfortunately everything was closed. So we just walked around and while walking down what appeared to be a residential street heard music and stumbled across this hidden gem. It's cute, quite and quaint. The dining room is old world, the chef delivers his food to the table and happily describes his works of art exhausted, perspiring and out of breath, but proud and anxious. We only had a small plate of spaghetti and some wine but it was delicious! It was more than delicious it was the best spaghetti we have had. We ate, drank and talked into the night. The families dining around us ordered plate after plate after plate....... We soaked in the background noise of children and family speaking Italian.......laughing and having a splendid evening. I wish we were here a couple more days so we could go back. If your in the area don't pass this up!

Wine is excellent, select spritzes are always offered, and service is beyond kind. There is a patio to enjoy during the nicer months or for smoke breaks, and multiple rooms inside with two bathrooms. There is a large outdoor area where you can sit and watch the sunset after an amazing meal. The restaurant itself is very beautifully decorated with white linen tablecloths. That being said it is not necessary to get all dressed up although it would be appropriate to do so if one wished. You may arrive by car or by boat as there are many slips along the side of the property. The food was fresh and well prepared. There were 12 of us and they were able to deliver excellent service for us all. We ordered a variety of food, from the octopus appetizer to salads, soups, whole grilled fish and even pork chops. All of the food was prepared perfectly. The menu is extensive so there will be something for everyone, with an especially large selection of fish and meat entrees and of course several pasta dishes to choose from. What a wonderful spot!…read more Enjoyed several "meals" here during my 3 days in Venice. The pastries - simply amazing! The location is fantastic as well right on the Grand Canal. It can be crowded with tourists but away from St. Mark's so not quite as busy as that part of the city. There are many small shops and eateries in this area but Bar Aperol was my favorite in this part of the city. Worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for some authentic Italian treats or meats!
