I fell in love with this store. My sister, son and I were on vacation and just driving around before we going to the airport. We stumbled upon this shop. First of all this is the cutest country store I've been to. it is very neatly organized and prices are clearly marked. There are many types of apples available to purchase and different sizes of bags so you buy what you need/want. There were all types of jams, butters, frozen berries, apple and pear chips, syrup and so much more. They offer hot cider samples which was appreciated on a cold, windy day. There were many things to find, I picked up some maple syrup, an apple pie, and some dried cinnamon apple chips. The prices were very fair in my opinion and the employees were very friendly. Overall this store was an unexpected surprise and I loved stopping in. read more

Came upon this store totally by accident. I was just driving around and almost drove passed but slammed on the breaks (no one behind me) and pulled in. The store takes you back a couple decades when you walk in. You are hit by all the fresh apples, of so many varieties. There are also potatoes and other produce. I grabbed some syrup, some apple chips, apple pie and fruit cake. The pie was small and adorable. It was very good. Flaky crust and the apples were lovely. The apple chips were otherworldly! How they are dried, crisp and somehow really juicy are beyond me! If I could buy online, I would be a regular customer! The service was lovely and I was able to find some holiday gifts. I would absolutely return!!! read more

This is a great little market for fresh fruit and vegetables. Had a cheery pie last week which was fabulous. This is a recent find for me, they are open all year round. Awesome for apple harvest time! read more

I love this place. It has become a regular stop for me now that I realize there are fresh vegetables not too expensive and flash frozen fruit, not to mention amazing preserves, about a million apple varietals, and frozen pies, squares, and savouries. They also regularly have apple cider for tasting, which makes the place smell amazing. I will be shopping her regularly from here on out. read more

My sister and I love going to Al Ferri, there are still lots of delicious apples available and the pears are amazing. You can also find a selection of preserves, frozen pies, vegetables and many other things. Love supporting our local farmers! read more

Perfect rating love this place . We first came here 20 years ago . Up to last year you could pick your own apples. But they have sold the farm to developers. They still have a store that sells apples cider and pies . Great pies at a great price. The apple cider is very good the best I ever had. A must try us the apple butter. read more

Apple select is good, spiced Apple cider in a nice welcome but the "sugar valley Maple Syrup" is horrible!! Thank god got the small bottle for 8$ as I have to throw it out. It completely tastes like metal! Thought it was me at first but 4 out of 4 ppl agree as they tasted it and can't tolerate it at all. Completely disgusting. read more

I was looking forward to having a pie from here as I do every year as well as the spiced apple cider. The cider was good but the peach pie was the worse I've ever had. Big chunks of peach thrown into a tasteless crust. At $9.95 a pie you'd think they'd put some effort into it. Couldn't even finish a small piece. Hopefully this was just a bad one or I'm sure there will be some unhappy people out there. People working there are friendly and it's always very busy but that peach pie purchased on 9/ 23/18 was truly a disappointment. read more

Sorry folks. No more apple picking. The property is all demolished for housing. But the store is still open. Great local apples, homemade pies, Ontario cheese, and cider to warm the coldest hearts. The staff is wonderful happy to help you. The old farm look makes you want to keep shopping. There is also local potatoes and gourds for sale. When I asked what a certain apple was like the gave me one to try at no cost. The hours are typical retail hours and there was lots of parking so it's a pleasure shopping there. I always buy my apples from Al Ferri & Sons. Today I purchased some Honey Crisps and received the 10% seniors discount (Wednesday only). My favourite eating apple is Macoun, but I wanted something different today. Love their sweet cider and pies. Al Ferri is no longer alive and the family has sold most of the land to developers; however they now have a second orchard on Georgian Bay and import the apples sold in the store from there. Georgian Bay is a great place to grow apples. read more

One star is generous. I think zero is most accurate. I have been to this orchard for several years. This year we discovered the " pick your own" was closed and apples were only available in store. Everything was great - until we were just leaving. My 5 year old boy reached out and touched a strawberry. The owner literally screamed at him " DONT TOUCH THE PRODUCE!!!!" Pointing at him and leaning over him. Of course everyone stopped and my husband asked him what was going on and why he was screaming at our son. Long story short, he does not tolerate anyone touching produce. Which is why he closed the pick your own. He refused to apologize for screaming straight out of the gates. And instead told us we have no idea how many times over the years people have touched the produce and that if it were us, we would be screaming too. Another older lady working there told us he's the owner and he will not apologize. Well get out of the business Al Ferri because people will on occasion pick up an apple or touch a pear at an apple orchard. it doesn't excuse you from screaming at a 5 year old boy, who, up until that point, was just walking around happily. We returned the items we purchased. We will NEVER return and would NEVER recommend anyone to support THAT local farmer who clearly is a crusty old man who has no business sense and most importantly no sense of humanity. It's too bad he's such a horrid man. At least there are many other options out there. read more

I had a VERY BAD EXPERIENCE WITH Some of the STAFF WORKING at Al Ferri & Sons today: I called to ask if there is any bags of Mutsu Windfall apples and the lady said there is none. I decided to go there anyways because it was on my way, and right after I got off the phone with her-I saw 10 bags of the Mutsu Windfall apples I asked about on the floor. I asked the lady why she gave me false information. She said she was not the one on the phone with me, so she went to get the lady that I spoke with on the phone. The lady that spoke to me on the phone walked over to me and I found out that her name is Katie. She was very rude, and she said " I said that there was none because if someone calls and I tell them that there is only a couple of these Mutsu Windfall apple bags on the floor, and they end up coming in for them but they already got sold..they will get upset..and some people ask us to put them on the side for them to pick up which we don't do". She said this in a very rude tone and negative manner. I told her "okay but u shouldn't give false information and it should just be "first come first serve". She lied to me and said there was none. If there were still a few bags on the floor she could have told me the truth and then I would come and pick them up, she didn't have to put them on the side or lie to me. She was very unprofessional, especially since I was coming to a farm to pick up apples that are Organic and I thought I was going to a wholesome place to buy them instead she left a sour taste in my mouth as I left the store . I was really surprised with the way I was treated. I was trying to talk to her and accidently spit a little bit as I was talking because she really frustrated me...and this happens to everyone sometimes. She said "DON'T SPIT ON ME!" She knew that the spit came out while I was talking so passionately by accident and she used that against me! She turned her back on me with a very bad attitude and I told her that I would notify the City about her giving her customers false information and treating them with no respect or dignity. I hope the manager or owner of Al Ferri and Sons sees this bad review and can do something about the service. Word of Mouth is important when it comes to any business! read more
