Ai Tre Scalini was such a great find in Rome! Everything we had was absolutely delicious. The…read moreeggplant parmigiana was rich, flavorful, and one of those simple Italian dishes that you keep thinking about afterward. We also had a beautiful selection of Italian cured meats that was perfect for sharing. The atmosphere is exactly what you hope to stumble upon while wandering through Rome--cozy, lively, authentic, and full of character. Great food, great wine, and the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer. Definitely a spot we would return to!

We ordered one of their more natural red wines available chilled, and Pane & Olio EVOO, and Salsiccette al Tartufo. The bread was so fresh (baked in house daily), and also came with a spicy olive oil option as well as salt and pepper and a plate to dip. The sausage was the perfect little snacking cup with toothpicks and overall everything went well with our wine. They also gave us the little circular baked crackers to dip in our wine. When we were called we were moved to the main dining area which was adorable. Nearly every table had unique artwork on the surrounding walls. We then ordered more of the same wine, the Bonaccia salad, and the Parmigiana di Melanzane con Ricotta Salata. The salad was SO good. It was perfect with lemon and delicious olive oil dressing and an even mix of lettuce, cooked diced potatoes, olives, octopus, sundried cherry tomatoes. The eggplant was a fantastic texture, not too soft but tender and the cheese on it was immaculate. We were too full for dessert but the waiter offered us free limoncello shots as a night cap. My favorite part of this spot was how fun and kind the staff were to us. Letting me practice my Italian, giving great recommendations and overall being super accomodating. I'd love to come back.

Clearly superior ingredients, including the cheeses of which they use three, superior pasta, and a chef that knows what he's doing! Relative to the wine I had tonight, they have a very large selection of wines where it literally numbers in the hundreds. The 2020 Cesari Amarone I had with dinner was exceptional (rated 4.2 in Vivino). I ended up getting two glasses while dining. Earlier in the day before dinner, I came in for several glasses of locally produced whites that were very good as well and were recommended by the hostess. For you wine snobs that are out there this is truly is a restaurant you want to check out as they have all price points here and kudos to the owner for stocking a very diversified and excellent selection of wines! This restaurant comes across as a very classy establishment as the selection of wines adorn literally three of the four walls within the business. It has a bright clean interior with a nice comfortable vibe to it where any wine aficionado will love the place. It also offers outdoor dining for those that want this environment however, there is quite a bit of foot traffic and cars that go by this restaurant which kind of minimizes the enjoyment of the outside dining Overall, this is an outstanding restaurant if you're looking for a superior dining experience that won't break the bank and enjoy a glass of finer wine, you should definitely check this place out. Five stars in my book all day long.

We ordered an Old Fashioned and Mojito for Apéritif and enjoyed both. Once again we moved to another table that was outside but with cover once we decided to stay for dinner. Cool Bar area and a party room that housed their extensive collection of Wine. Outdoor seating was okay. We started with the Roman style Artichoke-seemed like it was missing something so we asked for some olive oil and Balsimic vinegar which made a huge difference. The Burrata/Prosciutto starter didn't disappoint with mild, slightly salty Ham. I asked the server which she would recommend-Sea Bass or Frutti de Mare Spaghetti-Frutti de Mare (Poseidon) it is. Full of fresh seafood with a very light tomato sauce-delicious! Were able to substitute spaghetti for ravioli in the Pesto/sundried tomato entree which was a nice touch-Pesto sauce was amazing! We paired it with a recommended Rose-Calafuria-just right fruity with 100% Negroamaro grape. Service was engaged and attentive. Make this Monti stop for their extensive cocktail and wine selections!

(I think just oil, Parmesan and pepper). It was phenomenal !! We came in not very hungry and only wanting dessert.. we ended up of course eating pasta and it was our most favorite meal. The location is tucked away on a side street right in the heart of Rome. The owner was making his rounds and hanging out with the customers. It was raining out and only a few tables. The place was pretty full outside so we mentioned we would wait for a table (it was a beautiful night) rather than sit indoors. They then quickly cleared a table and got us seats so we waited no more than a minute after mentioning that we wanted to be outside. The wait staff was personable and the wine selection is great. My colleague went with a (what he said) excellent glass of the Zenato Amarone red wine, the server also agreed that it was one of their best. I prefer white and am partial to the island of my boyfriend, Sardegna, so went with the Su'entu Vermentino, and it was exquisite. Throughout our respective two glasses there the staff kept bringing by small bites/crostini to try--they were all wonderful and so tasty--we both especially love the simple fresh tomato. All in all it was a simple yet enjoyable stop and I made sure to remember the name so that I can stop in again for a glass (or two!) on my next trip to Rome. Salute!
