Office was clean. Professional. The technician Tanesha was very knowledgeable in her job functions.

I give a 1 star for their customer service and only because I had to at least give one. I went to the Silver Lakes location in Florida in February and was overcharged for an imaging. My Insurance Company contacted them and they confirmed that this was an error and I should return to the office for a refund. I wen to the office and was told that I had to send an email to Billing Dept. or call heir phone number. I sent four emails and phone calls with no response. It has been months now and I am unable to get through to anyone. This is so unacceptable and poor customer service on their billing department. I need my refund! Carleen Richards read more

My Doctor referred me to Akumin Imaging in Mount Dora, Fl. for a chest x-ray to see if I had pneumonia. I went to Akumin and they wanted me to sign a Medicare waiver and they are not supposed to do that unless they fill out the waiver completely explaining why the suspect the services might not be covered and the cost that you would be expected to pay. Medicare does not allow this. This is fraud. If you sign this blank Medicare waiver, they can bill you for any reason that Medicare denies. I have reported them to the Medicare fraud dept, Office of Inspector general and the FTC. They also had to pay over $700.000 for fraudulent claims in 2021. People speak your truth and don'e let this unethical company get away with this. There are so many people that would just sign this and pay when they do not know they are not supposed to. absolutely unacceptable customer service! try to call their phone number if you are due for a refund. you will have to be on hold the whole day because they will keep transferring you. if your insurance pays and you did not have a copay, yet they demanded a copay, they do not refund you automatically. that is theft! they will not answer their phones for hours! you give up and they keep your money! if you are an attorney and you read this: please include me in the class-action lawsuit. read more

Horrible, horrible customer service. No one ever answers the phone . . . after having no choice but to book an appointment on line, they call back after hours. read more

Not pleased with either the technician or the front desk. I showed up for an mri and was told it could not be done -3 separate occasions - for various reasons due to an implant I had. Each time I was sent home and " fixed" what they told me needed to be done and each time they found a different reason to not do it. I had already paid a $75 co-pay which I'm still struggling to get refunded. Once I went to front desk and the woman told me to take a seat while she worked with someone else. I did, and I sat and sat while she finished with that person and then checked in the next person who walked in, ignoring or forgetting that I was there. If you can, go elsewhere. read more

Although the staff is very nice, this place is like a factory. Looks like they schedule too many patients at once. I walked into the waiting room and there was no place too sit. Ended up waiting over an hour to get my MRI. I would not recommend this place at all. read more

Zero zero zero!!!! Not a professional educated diagnostics facility whatsoever! They have no regard for anyone who has scheduled an appt to actually give a reminder call. Staff are clueless without manners no etiquette. Treat people like garbage. The ceo, coo, regional manager needs to clean house. read more

Following the results of a physical, my primary doctor suggested I get an ultrasound of my kidneys. I called AKUMIN to confirm they accepted my insurance and to schedule an appointment. The person who received my call was a lady named Shirley. Shirley assured me that my insurance was accepted by this facility and that I would only be responsible for a $40.00 copay. She scheduled me for Monday, November 8, 2021 at 1:30 PM at their Plantation Gardens location in Florida. Shirley then told me I would need to drink 32 ounces of water one hour prior to my office visit, and that I would need to "hold my bladder" until after the ultrasound was done. Doing as instructed, I arrived for my scheduled appointment ON TIME and FULL OF WATER! The drive getting there took me approximately half an hour with traffic, by the way. Upon my arrival, the receptionist, whose name I did not get, said that she did not know anything about my copay or my insurance, and that my coverage was BETWEEN ME AND MY INSURANCE COMPANY. She said her system was not showing there was any copay, but that my insurance MIGHT send me a bill later. She also said that the person who scheduled me is part of a different department and has nothing to do with their office. She further said that there had been NO NEED for me to drink 32 ounces of water OR hold my bladder prior to this ultrasound! Not trusting this weird LACK OF CONSISTENCY, I decided to call my insurance company directly. As I stepped out of the office to make my call, the receptionist advised me I had ONLY FIVE (5) MINUTES, and then after that I would have to CANCEL and RESCHEDULE my appointment. I was on the phone with my insurance company for THIRTY-SIX (36) MINUTES. My insurance company finally advised me that with this ultrasound I would be responsible for a copay of $100.00, not $40.00, and it could add up to more depending on... IF... there were other factors involved. (Yes, my medical insurance is LOUSY, but that's beside the point!) Obviously, at this point, I HAD TO CANCEL my ultrasound appointment. I asked to speak to the office manager. Her name was Michelle. Michelle apologized to me for the incorrect information I had been given and for the inconvenience. Then she made it crystal clear that APOLOGIZING TO ME IS ALL SHE CAN DO. And then, when I boldly asked, she insisted that charging me only $40.00 (as was originally discussed... ahem... "promised") for the ultrasound and then getting whatever they could from the insurance company after the fact was NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! I advised her to get in touch with whoever is in charge of scheduling and insist they TRAIN THEIR EMPLOYEES BETTER!! Michelle said she was sending them an email right now, while I was standing there, but that again there was NOTHING else she could do. BUT, she was kind enough to let me use the toilet, so there's that. Bottomline: I wasted about THREE (3) HOURS OF MY LIFE today, drank myself silly with water, burned gas and time driving to and fro, got myself ALL STRESSED OUT FOR NOTHING, and I never even had my ultrasound. I hope and pray that AKUMIN goes OUT OF BUSINESS IMMEDIATELY!!!!! Thank you for reading. That is all. read more

Hope you're not in any hurry and love to hear the same tune over and over. Approximately 1 hour wait and rude answering server

Awful! When I called I specifically asked if they have standing MRI machine available. the representative said "yes we have it at Sunrise location" and he puts me for 9:45 a.m. He said that he would send me an email confirmation which he never did. I took the morning off work & went there. After an hour of waiting the front desk lady told me that they do not have standing MRI machine. they had one slightly wider which was not available till the following week. Best of all my appointment was booked for 9:45 p.m., instead of am! read more

Had a 6:30pm appointment at the Silver Lake location. I arrived early and was told there were 2 people ahead of me and it should be only a 45 minute wait. Come to find out one of the 2 people ahead of me had already been waiting 2 hours. At 7:30pm the receptionist told us they were almost done with one of the patients and we would be next. So my 6:30pm appointment will more than likely be around 8:30pm or later. Place closes at 8:00pm so I am now wondering if they will even see me or tell me to come back. read more

I had to have an MRI of my shoulder and this is place the my doctor referred my to. I called on Friday afternoon and had an appointment set up for Wednesday morning. Upon arrival I was quickly and friendly greeted by the receptionist. They had me fill out some paperwork and was back with the technician in under five minutes. He explained the procedure and and had me in the tube pretty quickly. This was my first experience with an MRI and I didn't know what to expect other than what I had seen on tv. Not sure if this is standard practice but they asked my preference in music and provided headphones for me to listen during the procedure. If I require another scan in the future I would request to use this facility again. read more

I was told to at the Weston location at 7am to prep for a diagnostic test. I've been here for 20 minutes no one is in the office. Seems this whole outfit is very unprofessional. I called to confirm they had my authorization the day before, both times I was on hold fo a really long time, when I did get through I was told their system was down, they would call me back! Never did. Not only am I fasting for this test but I took a day off of work! So not right! read more

Incompetent. Had an appointment and showed up they said they had to reschedule. No reason given even though I had called earlier in the day to confirm time. Will never go to Akumin and will tell everybody I know not to go there read more

I went to the Roosevelt location. I had had a bad experience at the Dunn avenue location a few years ago. I actually live in Fernandina so this was a long drive for me. But My insurance stopped covering the imagine place I use to use close to me and I was afraid of a bad experience at Dunn avenue so I drove an hours drive to try the riverside location. Other then the long drive it was a great experience. The girl at the front desk(wish I'd gotten her name) she was so nice, even though I'm sure she'd had a very long day since I had a late appointment, she was so kind and helpful. Travis the mri tech was so nice too! This place isn't new or fancy but the two employees I met there were great and I will be going back there. Highly recommend for the wonderful service I received! read more

I have used this facility several times over the past few years mainly due to convenience of location. In general, the people on the phone and at the front desk have been pleasant, efficient, caring. However, because I have encountered unfavorable issues at each visit I have decided I will not use AKUMIN again! At my most recent visit for a breast MRI, the technician offered me earplugs, not headphones with choice of music as I had been offered at a previous service with a different technician. I explained that I have issues with joint pain and that it is difficult for me to remain in the position required for more than a few minutes. I told him it would be helpful if he talked me through by telling me how much time each segment would take and how much time was left. Also, I asked if he could tell me at times that I could relax for a few seconds. Well, with the loud beeps, his heavy accent + not projecting his voice, and earplugs that fell out, I could barely understand a word he said! At a previous MRI with a different technician, I had pleasant music and he talked me through clearly without my even requesting it. Made a huge difference. Also, at a previous appt with the same technician as at the latest appt, he told me to wait in a chair with my thin robe in the hallway joined by some guy in construction clothes who sat beside me, very uncomfortable, just the two of us alone!! In general, the facility is in great need of many repairs and updates which I will not go into at this time. What has finally made me decide to avoid AKUMIN is the inaccurate billing after this service as well as a second MRI I had two weeks later! I obtained approved pre-authorization for my breast MRI but received a statement that the claim was denied due to coverage not in effect at the time! This is wrong! I checked online with MyCigna account and the service was clearly covered and paid! Also, the second MRI was paid by Cigna but still billed to me by Elite Imaging, Inc./AKUMIN. I have now spent over an hour and a half on two calls waiting on hold with their billing dept. Plus, I contacted their billing dept via email. Total time spent on this is now well over 3 hrs. Time to find a new imaging company, for sure! read more

As usual, drs office that double books. Waited over an hour in the lobby and they could care less. Apparently our time isn't valuable.

I came tonight to coconut creek office and didn't have a scrip and I am a minor but Christie made I possible. Thank you for all you do

Do NOT go to Akumin. It will be the biggest regret of your life. Not because of money, but because they will HURT YOU. I told the mammogram tech twice that she was hurting me. But she did not listen and she did not stop. It's been nearly four months and I am still going to physical therapy on a weekly basis. I'm in excruciating pain, I can barely perform basic daily activities and according to two different breast specialists, I will never be the same and will more than likely have to have corrective surgery. All because their tech @ Boot Ranch, Val, would not stop when I told her she was causing me significant pain. TWICE. The branch manager at Boot Ranch, Dawn, will lie to you as will the Regional Manager Tiffany who claimed they were within their legal right to apply as much pressure as they did. So basically in their minds, it doesn't matter if you tell them they are causing you significant pain, they're going to do what they want. They don't care about your physical or emotional well-being. They treat you like cattle and see it as their right to hurt you because you should just be grateful you don't have cancer. I guarantee there are other women out there who have been injured by them but are made to feel like it's their fault or that it's the price you pay for cancer screening so suck it up. It's my body. I told you that you were hurting me TWICE. As a medical professional, you should have cared enough to stop. read more

Nothing easy about dealing with this entire company. First, had to wait 3 weeks to get an appointment and the procedure could only be done in their Weston office and only on Tue or Thur. Called multiple times to verify that they had insurance autho and was finally told they needed a prior report for autho. Had to call again to get our cost for procedure because they could only tell me that the day before the procedure. Waited 45 minutes past appt to be taken in. MRI tech acted annoyed during the exam. They couldn't make the disc needed because their system was down. Called to nova office to get a copy and was told they would have it ready the next day. Sure enough got there and it wasn't ready. read more

Worst experience ever! You will never get a human to pick up the phone. Had an appointment at one location they called me minutes before my appointment to tell me their equipment wasn't working. Had to return home and get another appt. at another location one hour away later that day. It took the whole day to get the MRI done. MRI machine was old and the loudest I have ever heard. Music was only in one ear and as soon as the MRI started the music stopped. I told the technician I was very uncomfortable and was told, "this is the most comfortable you are going to get"... My skin was all red after as I literally was lying on metal not a cushion! It was very hot and she was annoyed she had to stop and put on a fan which was on high and blew my hair in my face. Very unprofessional. Not one of my doctors received the report. My referring doctor told me they have had so many problems with Akumin and no longer refer patients there. I only went since I was a cash patient and they were cheaper. You definitely get what you pay for. My images were not great and were not helpful. Would never return. read more

I stand by my original review of the akumin in Weston and would never go back there but am writing to update the review for the plantation location. First, after leaving my comments on yelp, Facebook and the akumin corporate site- I got a phone call from the manager at Planation and from a rep at akumin corporate. To me, this shows they care and want to help people have good experiences. So last night i had my MRI at Planation. The staff was courteous and efficient and the office was clean. The technician was kind and professional and the machine there was much bigger than the one in Weston so I felt more comfortable. I had headphones with jazz playing and that helped. Only reason I have 4 stars here is that I didn't have music choice and I had to ask for the headphones which the manager promised I would have. The tech said he wasn't sure if they were working but I was very pleased they were! I would go back again if I had to but please fix the headphones - it helps people focus on something other than the fact that they are laying still in a tube! read more

I went to the location in Wellington, FL twice. The staff is unprofessional, ready to argue with you, & really do not care. The 1st time they wanted to charge my $342 for a procedure that was $135 I left. I called their billing department & was told the procedure was estimated at $135. Before I rescheduled I called the billing office again to verify the cost, I was again told $135 & notes would be added to my account. Please keep in mind you are hold for 20 to 30 minutes each time to speak with anyone, & scheduling is 2-3 weeks out. I went to my 2nd appointment & was told the charge was $342, I asked to speak with the manager, the manager did not come out to speak with me so I paid the $342 for my annual breast screening. My insurance claim was correct, my co pay was $135. I called for my refund & was told they did not have the breakdown yet, I was told to email the claim which I did many times. I finally reached Rae Ann in the Akumin billing department & I was told the procedure was $135 & the payment receipt she had from the location was I paid $121 paid with a Visa & I owe $14. I totally lost it. She asked if I kept the receipt, I told her & have the receipt & the bank deduction. She is reaching out to the location to try to figure out what happened. I asked for the managers # at the location, she said did not have the # but would add a request for the manager to call me. My advise do not go to this location until the co pay is correct. On a brighter note the technicians who do the procedures are wonderful! read more

They over book appointments and don't seem to care about your time or your health condition. I was very disappointed with the hour and 45 minute wait before my MRI, then told it would be another 35 minute test which of course it was not even close to being accurate. Go to another imaging place and save your time and efforts. read more

Just poor all the way around. If any single item happened on its own, it wouldn't be a big deal, but overall, every step of the way there was something. When I called to schedule, the person I talked to was borderline rude. Once I made the appointment I started getting around three robocalls every day telling me to call and schedule the appointment which I already had. It took two requests to make that stop happening. I used Google maps to find the place and it took me to the parking lot, there is no signage. The street number is nowhere to be seen. I didn't know if I was in the right place so I drove around the building to the front and once I got there I was stuck in a one-way and had to circle the block to get back to the parking lot. I'm sure I'm not the only one this happened to. A sign is definitely needed in the parking lot since that is where Google maps are directing people. Once I got into the facility, it seemed like chaos. So many people, so many different areas, and the lack of signage made everything confusing. The person I checked in with was nice, so that is one good thing, and the wait time was very short. The tech who did my mammogram was professional, but the test hurt pretty badly. It was my first mammo so I asked a few people who had experience if it was supposed to hurt and everybody said no, it's a little uncomfortable and a little awkward but shouldn't be painful. As a reference to my pain tolerance, I gave birth twice, both times without any pain medicine/epidural. I also previously suffered a perforated bowel. I would give the pain level of the mammogram a solid 5 on a 1-10 scale with 10 being in line with bowel perforation. No idea why it hurt so bad but many I have spoken to have told me in no way should a mammogram be so painful. read more

Had an AMAZING experience doing my MRI at this facility Aventura). Yes, my appointment was at 3:45 and I was called in at 4:10, but I am from Miami, so II am accustomed to waiting at doctors' appointments, and that is how I dealt with the slight delay. I was extremely anxious, as I have never had an MRI before. The front desk clerk was amazing at calming my fears. She went as far as to say that if she had to, she would ask for front desk coverage to to sit by my side or ask another staff member to do it. The machine was open on the sides, which was a HUGE plus! The technician was PHENOMENAL!!!!!!! The minute she picked me up from the locker room, she gave me an instant sense of peace. She explained everything she would do step by step, and she assured me she would stop if I needed her to (which never happened because I was in complete peace the entire time). Upon my checking out, the front desk clerk handed me my CD immediately. I highly recommend this facility if you are looking for an excellent technician and caring staff! I believe my technician's name was Suli or Zuli, but what an amazing human being to deal with during such a stressful test. THANK YOU! read more

Horrible experience!! Went there to have an ultrasound done . Was their new patient. The lady that did my exam was extremely unprofessional n being sarcastic the whole time. The first thing she chose to ask me with an attitude when I walked in was " Have you been BACK to China lately?" . I was shocked by being asked that question, I said "No mam"(by the way I'm Vietnamese and if I was Chinese then still what's wrong with that??) She went "oh that's a major problem going on rn , I'm very concerned (Coronavirus)". I was hoping she asked that question to everyone not just me, and if I just came back from China, that question should of been used to ask by the custom before they let me in the country not by her!! Later on she said I was polite because everything I said was " Yes mam.. no mam". She went "Oh your so polite. You must from the South". I responded "from the South of what?" She answered "of China". Unbelievable. I said to her no I'm Vietnamese. She said oh I thought you were Chinese because you know Um you all look the same... like us Spanish. Can't tell you apart!! STRAIGHT DISCRIMINATION right there!! Then the whole time she was whining about me not having enough water in my stomach for her to do the exam. She asked me " Do you even drink water every day? I'm wondering why your body is not dehydrated!" ‍ I should have gotten up n left that place. Never ever go there again!! read more
