I scheduled two exams at this lab. After booking, I received five separate confirmation calls emphasizing how important it was to be on time. I arrived exactly on time, completed all the required paperwork, and only then was informed that they don't even perform one of the exams I had scheduled. After waiting again for the second exam, I was finally called in -- only to be told that they don't perform that one either. This isn't a simple mistake. It's a complete breakdown of basic organization and communication. When it comes to medical testing, this level of incompetence is unacceptable. Patients rearrange their schedules, take time off work, and place trust in a facility that should at the very least know what services it offers. A casual "apologize" is not a solution. Professionalism means preventing the problem in the first place -- not reacting to it after wasting someone's time. In hindsight, I should have taken the 2.5/5 rating more seriously. If you have a serious health condition and you are depending on Akumin Hollywood or Aventura accurately, you are in trouble. I have had 2 years of mis-reads. The latest one was 2 different MRI's of the same area for 2 different DX's. One much more serious than the other. They wrote the same report for 2 MRI's never even mentioning the more serious condition which has been present for 15 years. They have the priors for comparison. But wait, they did not bother to compare with prior imaging done at their facility. The person in Medical Records to get this corrected did not even know what the 2 conditions were, even after I spelled them out. If you have Oscar Insurance and are stuck with this imaging center, pay the extra to go to the outpatient imaging at the local hospital. They might be nice but, their rediologists are incompetent. Absolutely just mind boggling how they can still be in business. read more

When I tell you no discomfort whatsoever while getting the sonogram done was a welcomed experience.some imaging places the Tech is aggressive and press excessively hard. My first attempt to this clinic for the very sensitive reason and wow was not expected to talk to this so unprofessional arrogant, simply rude person just to book an appointment. She demanded some information I could not find on my prescription so I asked her to explain since it is my first time how would I know, instead of getting some explanation she just simply cut me off and hung up??? I would give zero stars but the receptionist was very nice. There was a long line and wait to check in at 8 am. Very dreary and not enough chairs. Once in the procedure room was advised to sit carefully as table was broken. The tech, Lisa, was super mean. She snapped at me several times. When asked about my procedure she said practically spitting, "this is a yes or no question, I don't need to hear anything else from you." She criticized how I laid on the table, my deep breath was too deep, my shallow breath too shallow. I would have left if I did not need the results. Really I have never been treated so rudely anywhere. I have advised my doctor to find another place to send people for MRI's where they are treated respectfully. I came here for an echo the place was already filled with clients at 7:45am and there was no one at the check in desk. Place opens at 8am, there's a sign in sheet but on the opposite side of the "checkin desk". An employee walked out of front desk at 8am (front desk lady) didn't acknowledge anyone nor said anything. So if you come here, you'll need to figure it out. From the front desk she advised all CT scan agents that they will need to be rescheduled because the only CT scan person called out. I'm guessing she meant "radiographer" but guessing that she just started her career how would she know that, I mean she only works at Akumin The worse part is that most of these patients were elderly, seniors who truly need these tests. She showed no empathy, she was very condescending and showed zero people skills. But you can hear her talking to her colleagues with a friendly and completely different demeanor. While I understand it is not her fault and it is outside of her control she could be more human towards clients and seniors. Disgusting. I truly hope when you're in their age and need assistance you receive better treatment. Humans don't deserve this. 3 stars just because the process for me was smooth and Lisa was courteous and super helpful with me. read more

I changed insurances and unfortunately had to make an appointment here. The receptionist was really sweet, no complaints there. And my results came in very timely, I think 2-3 days. But the entire experience aside from that was horrible. My appointment was at 2:00 and the reminder said to arrive 30 minutes before the appointment time. I arrived at 1:30 and wasn't taken back until 3:00. The room where I got the scan was small and stuffy. It didn't look sanitary, at all. There was ultrasound gel all over the walls that looked like crusty boogers. The tech had her mask below her chin and was coughing, so I'm not sure what the mask was suppose to do. I've gotten a few of these scans elsewhere and they've been nothing like this. This was way too quick for this type of scan and I knew my results would be affected. Lo and behold, the report came back and said "poorly visualized" and "technically difficult study" which is suppose to mean that I was 'unable to cooperate fully' which is insane because I did everything she asked and if she couldn't get the right shots, she could have been more patient with me and re-done the scan. read more

Today 09/23/2022; I'm at their facilities for an ultrasound; it has past 1 hour and 15 minutes since my arrival and I'm still waiting to be called on got my ultrasound . after 45 minutes past I've asked about the delay to one of the receptionist and she said to me "so what Sir you have to wait' then after 1 hour waiting without no results I went to the other receptionist and asked to talk with a manager and she to me that no manager was available but I'll next . This was my first time using this facility and I must say the service was excellent. Once I got there, I completed paperwork and was called by MRI Tech Gerson Lopez for two brain MRIs that I needed to get done. I waited in another waiting room which was a bit smaller but that was fine because the wait wasn't too long. Once the MRI tech, Gerson Lopez called me to begin, he explained everything and calmed my nerves. Once he started he told me to stay still and once one test was done he reassured me that I was doing great before starting the next one. This was the first time that I actually did not feel nervous or claustrophobic during an MRI but instead was relaxed. Terrible service. I arrived on time and waited for 2 hours, but I never got an MRI. Akumin takes more orders than it can serve.

The customer service here is awful, you get better customer service at your local car wash. I signed in when I arrived at 2:50 pm, by 3:35 pm I was still waiting. I approached the front desk, in spite of the many signs that say once you sign in DO NOT APPROACH the window until you are called. They could not find the sign in sheet I have registered on upon my arrival and did not even apologies for the lapse in service. The front desk staff had false eyelashes that made her look like she was ready for a night out on the town, she did not ask me politely for my prescription and insurance card, she stated "give me your prescription. I spoke with the office manager and the false eye lash girl lies to her boss and says she asked me nicely for my paper work. NOT!!!!. The male technician was curt and had no better customer service skills than the front desk staff. I would never recommend this facility nor use them again. Once again, I am at Akumin in Hollywood and once again I am greeted, if that's what you call it, by another disgruntled employee. I was here last week for an x-ray and was told by the person at the front desk that there are no CD's given for an x-ray. The doctor would receive the radiology report. Yesterday my doctor's office called to confirm my appointment and said to bring in the CD. This morning I am here, early enough, 7:45am, and I'm standing behind a gentleman for approximately 5 minutes, waiting to request this CD. I get up to the window only to be told that I need to put my name on a list. Really now!!!! She sees me standing there and cannot tell me that I need to sign in? I'm done with Akumin in Hollywood!!! They've gotten too busy and apparently those at the front failed to be trained in " how to use proper customer/patient service skills. I never post anything negative about an establishment only because businesses are struggling since the pandemic hit. However, this is the second time I've been treated poorly in two visits to Akumin Hollywood. I believe I learned my lesson!!! read more

Dennis was my x-ray tech who also greeted me with a smile, got me back right away ,made sure I was comfortable during my procedure! He knows his job well ! They both were such a pleasure! I have used this location before, & yes I have had Dennis as my tech before , And shame on me for not writing a review then but for both of them ! The office was packed but they did not call a single person back the whole time I was sitting there. I was also overcharged like other people have reported for this location. I was charged $155 but when I got my insurance claim it said I only owed $50. They make you pay upfront so they can rob you. If I havent updated this review then I haven't recieved my refund. In addition, my xray results never arrived to the physician so I'm out that money. I'll take my business elsewhere next time. I sent in an appointment request via the web site, says they respond within 36 hours. 2 days later, hadn't heard, called them. Got a voice system saying I should leave a message, they always call back by the end of the day. It's been now several days since my first appointment request, I've heard nothing.
