I have done SEVERAL custom orders with Suzanne at Akinz and have been more than pleased. She has done two print tote bags, tee-shirts for my school, a charity organization that I work with and my running group. Every time Suzanne & her crew go above and beyond. Even though I am from about 3o miles away, it is well worth the time and the drive to work with such a great company. Allow me to give some specific examples of the great service: **She custom ordered in plus sizes using two different teeshirt manufacturers (with out up-charging, even though she could have with very good reason) so that all of my girls could have the right fit. **She uses the highest quality teeshirts for the designs, our Art club couldn't be more pleased with their soft cotton, properly fitting teeshirts. In a world where we all toss out the hanes beefy tee, it is SO nice to have a company to go to that uses quality materials. ** Their prices are more than fair, and often less expensive than any competitor that I have compared them to. **When I have sent in both hand-drawn and computer generated designs, Suzanne works to clean up and perfect the design so that the final product is perfect. **Akinz turn around time is unparalleled, sometimes getting large orders in just a few days. **Suzanne was willing to experiment with me (and listen to her client! A rarity for some designers) with a two color design on bags that we both love! **As an artist and designer myself, I cannot recommend Akinz highly enough. If you want the clothing you create or wear to live up to high standards, Akinz is your best choice. **I am also very impressed with Akinz's community spirit. The participate in downtown art events and support local artists by hanging their work using valuable retail space that they give away to the artist. This kind of spirit is one of the things that keeps me coming back. On a personal note, I own several beanies, sweatshirts and hoodies from Akinz. When I was in a bind to have some custom shirts made for an upcoming trade show the fine folks at Akinz went above and beyond the call of duty to make my shirts. With a deadline of less than 2 weeks they were able to print up a shirt that far exceeded my expectations and even worked with the designs I had when it wasn't in the proper format. The owner then drove two plus hours out of her way to hand deliver my product to me as shipping would not get it to me on time. Now if that doesn't talk about dedication to customer satisfaction I don't know what does. On the second occasion when I ordered product from them for a custom project they worked with me extensively to make sure that my order met my standards. Communication which is always the key of any business was easy and always prompt. There was never an instance where I was left wondering when or if my order would be completed on time. When checking my piece count I noticed one item was missing and it was over night shipped to me so that my inventory was not effected. Over all Suzanne the owner takes pride in her business and makes sure that her customers needs are met. I've been shopping Akinz since they were only online and the store and customer experience has blown my expectations. This is my favorite store to bring out-of-towners and to recommend to locals. They have an awesome selection of clothes and accessories in stock but are also great for custom orders as well. Recently,the owner, Suzanne, and staff were extremely helpful in getting a sweatshirt ordered for my boyfriend in a larger size (and even different color!) than their regular stock - the end product was so much better than what I originally thought was even possible. I also ordered both my sisters certificates for custom hats for Christmas and they got to pick out the style and color - the only way I could buy them clothes and have it be something they like. They both love their hats and wear them all the time! It's so great seeing a business go from one person making hats to store front down town Fort Collins with Friday Art Walk events and all! A one of a kind store, with a one of a kind staff. I have been in this store multiple times, and have always had a good experience. No matter who's in the store, they greet me as I enter, don't harass me as I shop, and are not only hospitable but very knowledgeable about the products. Thanks to a unique atmosphere, a genuinely warm staff and one hard working owner.... my Akinz wardrobe is starting to grow! Akinz is awesome. I've gotten several beanies and clothing items from here. Last week my fiance bought a really sweet Olympic-USA themed beanie that I promptly stole from him and am wearing whilst watching this Canada vs. USA hockey game. It's the best and it was MADE IN AMERICA, at the Akinz shop! This is a great place to go if you would rather spend your money at a local independent shop than somewhere else where everything was made half way around the world. I love this store! Akinz makes custom beanies in any color and in any style. I have seven of their beanies between myself and my husband. I'm an avid skiier and love having unique gear on the mountain. This store makes products of excellent quality that are super soft. If there are any issues the store will fix them free of charge. I also have a few of their tshirts and one sweatshirt - love them all. I even bought a bunch of their sunglasses for my wedding and gave them to my wedding party as gifts. Ordered a custom beanie here and it came out fantastic! I get compliments on it all the time. The "fortlandia" shirt is one of my favorites and makes me proud to have a "weird" place of our own to call home. It's just the type of small business that I love supporting. So why not all 5 stars?
