Hawaiian latte

Located in the lobby of Marriott. Very convenient and fast service. Hawaiian latte was absolutely perfect! They also offered 100% Kona coffee, which hubby really liked. Little pricy but worth trying at least once.

This one is part of the Marriott Waikoloa. Let me start by saying the service team is so kind. The coffee though, is so so bad. Like gas station bad. Take the time to walk across the street and go to Island Vintage. I ended up just throwing it away. The burrito wasn't bad. It is just a quick microwaved one, but we enjoyed it for something quick. We had done açaí bowls across the street for several days and were ready to add some protein back into our lives lol. The seating area is great with the open breeze and beautiful view of the resort.

The customer service was real nice and friendly. You can enjoy your beverage while over looking the ocean

Very overpriced but guess you pay for convenience. Went a few times in the morning during my stay and each time they were out of varying ingredients for drinks/food. View from the sitting area is really pretty

MINI Breakfast burrito?
TheAmateur H.

We all know that resort convenient food and beverage are expensive and i am OK with the price. What i am not OK with is the deceiving. On display, it is a huge breakfast burrito. In reality, it is a mini size burrito. The food quality is ok, we should not expect much since it is a cafe stand. I would not review it as culinary experience food. Marriott, please stick to reality. We understand the over head cost of convenient food at the resort but don't deceive us.

I am giving the rating of 4 stars mainly because It was the earliest opening restaurant in the area where I could get some coffee and light breakfast (pastry and cold wraps). Trying to adapt to a six hour time difference often left me wide awake, so I would get up, write my Yelp reviews from the day before in the lobby outside this restaurant/breakfast bar, and the head over as soon as they opened at 6 a.m. local (noon by my biological clock.) They do have decent pastries. I especially enjoyed the blueberry scone and the banana bread. They serve coffee at that ridiculously scalding temperature that a lot of places do (probably made by non coffee drinkers or ones that add tons of milk or cream to their cup). I had to buy, then wait which is frustrating to someone who has already waited for them to open. I can't comment on their dinner options because there are so many great restaurants in the area that I ran out of vacation before dining here. And my late nights were pretty much spent sleeping, so I didn't get to enjoy their live music and cocktail specials. Review #2376

Breakfast burrito
Zuzana V.

Having spent several weeks at the Marriott hotel earlier this week, had my regular morning brew and breakfast at the grab and go on the main floor of the hotel, overlooking the ocean. Staff were absolutely fantastic, and in quick time were ready, anticipating my usual order. My Americano with a splash of almond was done right every time, and the rotation of fruit bowl, breakfast burrito, or pastry I would go through never disappointed either. Highly recommend the burrito as a great item to take on the road, as it satisfied plenty times before a long hike. Definitely worth a stop to either grab a coffee before some down time at the pool or remote work in the lobby, or fueling up before adventures out and about.

Stopped over on a long walk around the bay. Coffee was good enough. Love the atmosphere. Crunches, music, breeze all very pleasing.

Always a friendly and efficient crew for our morning coffees and pastry. As locals, this is a go to spot for us a few times every week.

Pizza isn't worth $20, but the atmosphere to eat it with is worth more than 5 stars. Order the Lava Lava (off menu), it's so ono.

Sadie was bartending while also taking care of the entire floor, helping customers, waiting on tables, giving food and drink recommendations, and somehow keeping everything moving smoothly. She even invited us back for Karaoke Night! We've worked in the service industry ourselves, and honestly, Sadie was more efficient and attentive than what we've experienced at many larger restaurants and hotels in Kona with much bigger staffs. She handled everything with a genuine Aloha spirit, a great attitude, and a smile. She is a tremendous asset to the restaurant. If I were the owner, I'd be looking at giving her a raise and putting her in a leadership or management role. She clearly has the ability to increase efficiency and bring out the best in a team. Highly recommend stopping by A-Bay's Island Grill. And if you get the chance, make sure you meet Sadie. She's one of those people who makes you want to come back!

I made reservations ahead of time, but honestly, I don't think they were necessary. My family and I…read moresat outside on the patio, and there was live music, which was a huge plus and probably one of my favorite parts of the evening. The food was just okay overall. The kids ordered chicken tenders and fries and said they were good. My husband ordered an ono sandwich, which he thought was fine, and I ordered the kalbi plate. The kalbi was probably the highlight of the meal--the portion was very generous and there was plenty of meat. The macaroni salad though, could definitely use some improvement. The macaroni salad wasn't very good, and both the rice and macaroni salad portions were about the size of a small ice cream scoop. For a plate like this, I definitely think they could be more generous with the rice. Our server was nice, but not very attentive, so the service was just okay. Overall, the atmosphere and live music were enjoyable, but the food and service were pretty average. I'd give it about 3 stars.

Pro Tip: Enjoy a Luxury Resort Without Staying There…read more Here's a little Big Island travel hack... You don't have to be a guest at the five-star Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection to soak up its incredible atmosphere. Simply tell the valet you're dining at Surf Shack, enjoy a bite, a drink--or both--and they'll validate your parking. The complimentary valet alone feels like a win. The resort is consistently recognized as one of the Big Island's premier luxury destinations. Once you've eaten, take your time exploring the property. Stroll the beautifully landscaped grounds, relax in the open-air lounges, wander the shoreline, watch the waves roll in, browse the upscale shops, and enjoy one of the most peaceful resort settings on the Kohala Coast. The ambiance is worth the visit all by itself. As for Surf Shack, the setting is fantastic. The food? Good, but definitely priced with a luxury resort zip code. We enjoyed our meal, but you'll likely pay a premium for what you order. So here's the hack: Pay for lunch... get the resort experience for free. Between the validated valet parking, stunning grounds, oceanfront setting, and laid-back luxury vibe, it's one of the best values on the Big Island if you know the secret. Just don't tell too many people.
