Mainly-- this is…read morea bar in a VERY small rural area, so a rare find to get something OPEN late at night, with good and fast food service, friendly staff and tasty food item (yes, I just had one thing) and good selection of beers. Background: I have to travel around the area for work (sports writing, local newspaper). Often I end up finishing work late at night and want a snack; sometimes need to write up a story....and more often than I care, I end up at the closest Mickie Ds. So to find someplace like this is extra special. This place had very friendly staff, even though it seemed pretty busy (Friday night around 10 pm-- prime time for a bar. Good, extensive menu, althouguh I just tried one app, which came out quick and was very good. Decent selection of craft beers on draft. Nice music from a solo musician-- not too loud or obnoxious (I will say, it's a shame folks don't CLAP more when a guy is doing pretty decent live music!). You have to go through this area to know how rare it is to find such a gem open late on a Friday night, without being a loud booze-only bar.

It was Saturday evening and the bar and restaurant were very busy. Sports on every TV and everyone having a good time. We ordered nachos and fried green tomatoes. Both were very good. But be aware, the nachos are excellent and the serving beyond big. The half serving is enough for four as an appetizer. Bottom line...you can't go wrong stopping in at Sidelines.

We were in town, just passing through, and had checked into our hotel for the night. Looking about,…read morewe reviewed the local places to eat something, and wishing to avoid any of the corporate places we found Woody's was pretty close-by. This is one of the magical things about looking for places to eat on-line... you will sometimes find places that you would completely pass over if you were to look at them from the road. This is one of those places. The place is very non-descript, and definitely a locals kind of place. When we walked in there was a small party going on that looked like it was wrapping up, and we were able to get a table. We were greeted warmly, so they do have their hospitality game working for them. There is an outdoor seating area, but as it was getting dark we opted for sitting inside. We both ordered burgers... there are no fries on the menu, which was surprising until we figured out that they don't have a deep fryer. All good there... we can make do with alternatives! I went for the mac and cheese. When the burgers came out, oh boy... these burgers are quite generous and my mother could only finish half of hers. Not a problem there either... it made a very nice little lunch item the next day. The burgers are quite good, and we would absolutely return for them!

It's a great locals gathering place as well as very welcoming to visitors.

Came here on a Sunday, it had just snowed the night before so the restaurant wasn't super busy, but…read moreit still had a good crowd. We had heard of this place for a while and wanted to check it out and we're so glad we did. The food and service were amazing. Walking in it's a narrow restaurant, that has a bar on one side and tables on the other with kinda a rustic feel to it. We were seated immediately and our drink orders were taken. Since we hadn't been there before we got water and then pursued the menu a little for drinks. I had a question between two drinks and the server was very good at describing the drinks and ultimately decided to try the Darryl Strawberry, while my husband got the Nor'easter. The drinks came out and they were really good. They weren't overly strong, you could taste the bourbon in each of them, but it wasn't overpowering. For food we got the OPA! to start and then the Billy for me and the Mother Clucker for him. The OPA was awesome. It's pan seared feta with honey and served with fresh bread. The honey added a little extra sweetness to the feta which went really nicely with the crusty bread. The Billy had goat cheese, bacon, onions and, a tomato jam on it. It was delicious. The creamy goat cheese with the bacon and smokey tomato jam all went amazingly together. I got onion rings as my side, which were crunchy hot and so so good. The Mother Clucker was also really good. I only had a bite of it to try, but was definitely impressed. My husband upgraded to the duck fat fries which were out of this world. Super crunchy, great flavor. Our server kept checking back on us the whole time making sure we were satisfied with our drinks and food, but we had absolutely no complaints. This is a great place for a date if you want good food or to hang out with friends. We will definitely be back.
