We did a wine tasting flight and added a charcuterie board and rosemary bread to round out the experience. The wine? Fantastic. Each pour showcased the care and artistry that goes into Rae's winemaking. The Dandy Rosé was bright and refreshing, and the Trousseau was a beautifully light red. The charcuterie board? Easily one of the best I've had while wine tasting in the Hill Country. Every bite was thoughtfully curated and paired perfectly with the wines and we devoured nearly everything on it. The absolute highlight of the visit, though, was meeting Rae Wilson, the winery's master wine maker, herself! She was making the rounds in the tasting room, chatting with guests, and stopped by our table. Getting to hear directly from the winemaker about her process and passion added such a personal touch to the experience--it's not every day you get that kind of access. And they have a lot to brag about! Kalasi is 100% estate grown, 100% Texas fruit, organic, woman led. The wines are really great and they offer some unique offerings (including teroldego). Customer service here was unlike any other winery experience I've ever had. Only thing keeping this from 5 stars for me is I think the inside seating and decor could be improved. I would love to see more bright colors/fabrics to go along with the theme.

From the labels, snacks, names of wines, to the water cups. You can also see llamas, sheep, and horses on the land around. Beautiful area. The lounge is very comfortable and air-conditioned and beautifully decorated, and the backyard is breezy and spacious. Better yet, it's all dog- friendly! We caught a live performance by a young musician, and our dog got plenty of attention from other patrons. We left with branded swag to take back to California. Husband and wife owners, Rarig and Ellery, were kind enough to show us around and even took us on a tour of Main Street! Both are knowledgeable about wines and Fredericksburg, but also landscaping, raising children, dolls, ancient history, relics and artifacts, time travel, and more. We'll be coming back for sure!

I had a group visiting from California and they wanted to visit both the California wineries here in Texas, as well as some of the Texas wineries that buy 100% Texas Grapes. During our Main Street tour, we stopped in for a tasting after visiting another 290 winery just down from you. The experience couldn't have been more different. They had a blast and the staff shared her experience/knowledge about her personal favorite wineries in the area. I am partial to William & Chris, Ron Yates, Adega Vinho, Ferris & Fletch, Becker, and Kalasi. However, she recommended several that I hadn't tried or at least not recently. Having individuals in the group that like sweet wines, she knew exactly where to send them. Personally, I tried several dry wines that I really enjoyed. If you have not tried Fat Ass recently or better yet, since the new ownership, I encourage you to drop in for a tasting.

Yes we had a drink in our hand but instead of staying so sorry, you can't bring drinks in here, we felt discriminated by the hostess asked is there alcohol in it? We said yes and this one only had watermelon juice which a sweet girl gave to us for donating to her cheerleading fundraiser next door. He proceed to say TABC doesn't allow it, and we would get shut down. Where's your southern hospitality? Simple, "so sorry but you can't bring alcohol beverages in here that you purchase else where"would've be sufficent. Do not recommend, bring back the southern hospitality, or get rid of him. He doesn't even presents well as your front store guy he's turning away your business.
