A few weeks ago, I saw an AJ's driver (male) get out of the taxi, run right up to another car's window and yell at the female driver. She was clearly startled, probably because the driver looked like your average meth user. It was over a misunderstanding in lanes and the AJs driver just went from 0 to crazy without even trying to figure it out in a civilized manner.
Today, in another parking lot, an AJs driver was pulled off to the side picking up 2 elderly people. Fine. You're blocking cars and traffic but fine. It would have been courteous to other drivers to put the hazards on, indicating that you're not moving, or maybe move off to the side where you're not in everyone's way.
Other cars were passing by the taxi since it wasn't moving, and then as I was passing, the taxi just swung out to the left and stared accelerating. I beeped to let him know I was already passing his taxi. He honked back, clearly read to engage in road rage. This driver never signaled that he was coming back into moving traffic. He expected everyone to move for him, after everyone was already slowed down because he was blocking one lane in the first place.
The person merging DOES NOT have the right of way, just like a person who is parked can't just fly out into moving traffic when they feel like it. I would be terrified to be a passenger in the car of either of the drivers I've witnessed.
Today's incident happened around 4:50pm in the Acme shopping center parking lot off of Route 22 in Golden's Bridge.
