We sent our 6month pup for trial session before we could decide on this place. Overall impression - not very professionally run place, extremely dirty, my dog was reeking of some bad odour in only 3 hours and full of dirt but the lady who received us spoke as if this was the only dog day care in town and everyone is lining up to have their dogs sent there! They don't provide tours of facilities so you have no idea where/what you are sending your pets into! No photos or videos put up anywhere about the facilities/amenities inside. No time taken for any sort of assessment to understand the temperament of our dog. The lady asked us if our dog will jump the fence, (I wish I knew, the dog cnt speak to tell me!) I said she has never tried and she said, I quote, "if she as much even looks at the fence, she will not be allowed in the yard again", so they plan to cage her all day if she does try to look at her surroundings! They just want full trained dogs to be left free in groups of 10 to play so easy job for them! All dogs are not same and most of them take time to adjust. They were too quick to judge in meeting my dog for the first time saying that she was nervous (obviously it was her first time there with new ppl and so many dogs!). Not a great place. For one, it is not at all clean. From the moment you walk in, there is either an overwhelming smell of urine, or bleach mixed with urine. Whether you leave your pet there for one day at daycare or for boarding, they will be returned to you reeking of urine, and gritty with dirt. Dirt I can deal with. Urine, no way. You will not want to touch your dog after a stay here. I know some dogs like to roll around in all sorts of things, but I had more than one dog here (one of which did not like to roll around) and they both reeked upon pickup. I also knew 3 other pet owners who had similar experiences. I chalked it up originally to standard "kennel smell" but have since taken my dogs to several other "free play" kennels and non-free play kennels-- they've never smelled the way they did at Ajax. The worst thing though-- my dog was seriously injured while in the care of the Ajax Pet Centre. I was told my dog was in a fight with another dog, and had started the fight. However, both the vet and the surgeon who cared for my dog advised that the wounds inflicted indicate my dog was in a defensive position (bitten on the inside of the rear leg). The other clue that my dog was not the aggressor was that there was no bleeding or inflammation around his mouth or gums, indicating that my dog had not bitten anything. These two observations were made independently by both the vet and the surgeon. Unlike other petcare centres, Ajax does not provide "doggy-cams" for you to observe your dogs, or to witness the care they receive. I'd think twice before taking your four-legged friends here. read more

I started taking my first English Bulldog Bronx 10 years ago, Bronx absolutely LOVED going to see everyone there. It helped to socialize him as a puppy and adult as well as burn energy;) He would come home wiped playing all day! The pools in the summer were extra fun!. Unfortunately Bronx left us a year and a half ago. Since then we got another English Bulldog Boss. Boss has been going since a pup and Loves it just as much as Bronx did. I recommend this place to everyone I know. I am so thankful for the love they show my furbabies and how they pay attention to every detail. If you haven't brought your furry family member yet you must! It was the best thing I did almost a decade ago and will continue to. Thank you to all of you! Super nice staff and my dog really liked it! They provide cage free doggy day care and overnight care for dogs and cats, the lady also runs a rescue out of the place which shows that she really cares for animals and this is not just a business for them. I toured the entire place before and they offer a free trial which I took them up on. The place is not fancy by any means...but hey...I don't think my dog really cared. It was clean, smells overwhelmingly of doggy and has a really nice outdoor area, one for big dogs another for smaller dogs. This is a great option if you are looking for pet boarding where your pet can mingle with other dogs, run freely outside for at least part of the day and is'nt too expensive. read more

My pom stayed at the doggie daycare for the first time last week. It went well. He was really hyper when I came to pick him up but on the ride home he was so tired. No scratches from other dogs. I'm sure they did a great job. My coworker and my neighbour have been going there for years so they seem credible. Staff is super friendly. They accept cash, credit but not debit. read more

We have boarded and used daycare for our dog at the business for quite a few years on a couple of occasions our Dog has come home not feeling well the last time she contacted a parasite. Our VET told us it was from the Ajax pet care as they have treated other dogs from there .The problem is they bring in dogs for adoption which is nice but the dogs for boarding are exposed to whatever health problems this dogs have. This is a wonderful place with very dedicated people who are very pet focused. My dog has been going there for four years now, five days per week and I have no complaints. Every morning when I ask my dog if she wants to go to day care, she runs and grabs her leash and waits by the door. She is excited to go through the door and very happy when I pick her up. Sometimes she is dirty with mud but only because she was outside having a great time with her friends. The staff make every attempt to make sure they are as clean as possible when you pick them dogs are dogs and like to play! They provide boarding as well and my dog has stayed there many times for one night to 7 nights and I have always been very pleased with her care and well being. In contrast to what another reviewer stated, this place is clean and does not smell of urine. There are many dogs there and there are times that dogs have accidents, just like in our own homes, and on occasion, an odor lingers but they have odor eliminators that they use. The best thing about Ajax Pet Care are the people who work there. They are all people who love what they do, who have established great rapports with the dogs and are very caring. They will go above and beyond to do whatever they can to help you out in any way they can. My dog has a health problem and gets quite ill at times and they are always asking how she is if she is not there and, they provide very caring supervision on the days she is not feeling 100%. They are also a rescue for many dogs and who otherwise would have been killed. They are very careful about who the dogs are adopted out to and want to ensure they are going to good homes. I would NOT recommend this dog care facility to anyone!! I went into their Ajax location on Kingston Road two weeks prior to book my puppy "Koda" in for an overnight boarding, I had an out-of-town wedding to attend. They marked Koda on the calendar for a one night overstay, and informed me I would need a Bordetella vacine, which I had done. I called them a week prior to confirm Koda was signed up for sure, and they said yes, and I asked them if they could send me the paperwork to fill out to save us time on the Saturday when we drop off our puppy. The girl said we could come in anytime to fill our the papers, so we did on the Tuesday night at 4pm, and to our surprise, there were two girls there, one gave us the sheet to fill out and the other girl said "oh no I won't be here for one dog, I have the weekend off", she then called over to their other location on Finley and got the owner on the phone to talk to me, and she informed me because there was only one dog "Koda", booked it was not worth paying a staff member so she gave her the weekend off, but..... I could bring Koda to her Finley location and he would be all by himself with no one there, but she could monitor him by camera from her house can you imagine? not acceptable!!! so I was out on a limb, if I had of brought Koda there on the Saturday morning the place would have been locked up. They don't care about our pets, only the money! So Koda had the vacine for nothing at our expense and I had to cancel our plans. They have no business ethics WHATSOEVER!!!
