She is friendly, really listens to her patients, goes out of her way to avoid prescribing medication when any physical, herbal, or other solution is available. Many of my friends, colleagues, and various people I have met are patients of Dr. Spalding's and they all have rave reviews too! I have heard tons of horror stories (not all were actually HORROR stories but you know what I mean, bad/rude/annoying experiences) from people about their doctors, never have I heard one about her; and since I am already a patient I don't have to worry about trying to get on her new patient list- I've heard she's booked solid! But if you are looking for a new family doc for yourself or your family, trust me that she is definitely worth giving a call- and if need be, a wait! Dr. Eaton, another doctor in that office, is also fabulous- if Dr. Spalding's patient roster is indeed full, you would be just as smart to try and get on Dr. Eaton (also a female).

(One of my other doctors also told me that his daughter sees Dr. T, which definitely seemed like a good recommendation!) Dr. T is great with my son. He takes a nice, middle-of-the-road approach, I think -- not too laid-back and not too paranoid. He's always very friendly and approachable, and never makes me feel rushed. More importantly, he never makes me feel silly when I have any kind of question, no matter how trivial. He's been very cool about several of our parenting choices, like not circumcising our son and electing to delay or skip certain vaccines. (I know not all of the doctors in the office feel that way about vaccinations -- Dr. Israel definitely seems to take a stronger pro-vax approach.) We've never felt pressured or talked down to by Dr. T about any of these issues. The office is also great. I never have a long wait, and they can always get my little guy in when he's sick. The nurses and the ladies at the front desk are all wonderful. In addition, the waiting room is great -- my son just LOVES the fish tanks!

I have went here for several years and am sad to say that I must find a new Primary Care Office…read more Firstly I have deep gratitude and respect fot thr Doctors, and Medical staff who work here I have NEVER received anything less that compassionate and professional care. The issue is that I was refused care because I needed to have a minor co-pay billed. I had spent a sleepless and painful weekend waiting to see my Doctor. To my suprise I was refused care over a 10.00 co-pay. My insurance covers much more that this. I had no choice but to drive back across town to an urgent care who allowed me t come on payday and pay my much higher co-pay and at a much higher cost to my insurance. I had tissue dammage in my shoulder! This practice has recently grown and I understand that policy must be followed, but patient care must always come ahead of profit.

He did and saw me falter as I headed to him during test and I didn't fall when I passed out because he held me. After, i had an appt w Dr Faruqi and told her what happened at karate. She then told me i couldnt drive any more because she wasnt going to her license to practice medicine because of me. I had driven to the appointment and i had to call my grandson to to pick me up. My husband had to go pick up my van w a friend when he got home from work. I did all the tests she sent me to and all came back ok. I asked her to fill out the paperwork for the Secretary of State and she refused. When i went to the Secretary of state appointment, i didnt have the psperwork needed and i had my license suspended. Months had passed before I found out she never had the power to tell me i couldnt drive. Only the secretary of state has that power. If she had filled out and given me the paperwork i needed I WOULD NEVER HAVE NEEDED HELP GETTING AROUND BECAUSE MY LICENSE ONLY GOT SUSPENDED AFTER THE 6 MONTH APPT THAT SHE DIDNT GIVE ME THE PAPERWORK FOR! I went into a deep depression because i am disabled and my driving is my only chance to get out if the house. I was a prisoner in my own home WHEN I SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DRIVE. AT ALL. This happened in late August 2022 and i got my license renewed after having to test again in June 2023, after dhe finally sent the paperwork to Secretary of State. Bottom line, i should have been driving during all that time but for her lack of law knowledge and her assuming to have a power over me SHE NEVER LEGALLY HAD.

The day of my appointment I was a mere four minutes late, having never been there before and the receptionist informed me that Dr. Gerrish was "a real on-time guy," and that she'd have to check with him to see if he would still see me. After making me wait four minutes she came back and informed me that he would not see me and that I'd have to reschedule my appointment for a later date another 1 1/2 months in the future. I've never heard of such a thing. Fifteen minutes, maybe. But only four minutes when you've never been there before? I was beyond offended. I thought, if a doctor would actually turn away a new patient for being only four minutes late I can only imagine what his other qualities are. I told the receptionist that I would not be rescheduling my appointment and to let Dr. Gerrish know that he had lost a patient. The receptionist seemed actually indignant that I would dare not reschedule my appointment and tried yet a second time to get me to reschedule it. I refused. Then they had the audacity to send me a letter "scolding" me for supposedly missing my appointment, warning me of their three strikes in one year policy (two for new patients) and offering me an "opportunity" to reschedule my appointment when I had clearly told them I would not be doing so. I called them and told them in no uncertain terms that I would NOT be rescheduling my appointment and why, letting the woman know what I thought of Dr. Chad Gerrish and his policy, and demanding that I not receive any further communications from them. It was a horrible experience. I do NOT recommend Dr. Chad Gerrish at McLaren Healthcare Associates at all.

I saw Dr. Hillman while he worked in Laingsburg, and cannot believe that I continued with him as a…read moreprimary care physician for so long. On top of being one of the most misogynistic doctors I've ever known (and, working in public health, I know many) he: - started me on birth control at age 14 when I was not sexually active, nor was I having bad cramping or an irregular cycle, because "it would make sure my skin remained clear" (I didn't have acne). I remained on it for two years and became horribly depressed. He denied that the birth control could be making me depressed and started me on Zoloft -- which made me not want to eat for three weeks. I stopped taking each medication; my appetite returned, however, I had DEBILITATING periods each and every month for about 6 or 7 years after (intense lower back pain, cramps so bad I would faint, nausea, hot flashes), as well as a 37-40 day cycle (instead of 28-30). My cycle has finally evened out, but half of my periods are still debilitating. -- Refused to acknowledge that I was studying science and medicine when I moved onto college, and, on the few occasions he did, told me I wouldn't make it in med school. -- Asked me if I "ever felt stressed out," to which I said "yes, sometimes" (we all do) and threw Valium at me for 3 years -- Took 11 months to diagnose a rare and potentially lethal cardiothoracic/vascular condition that would be outside of any general physician's field of knowledge; however, instead of sending me to a specialist first, let his ego take over, gave me something like ten different diagnoses in a year, would Rx me Vicodin for the excruciating pain one week and yell that I was a drug addict who was faking it all to the point that I would cry the next (...and then Rx me Vicodin again the next week). When he luckily stumbled onto my diagnosis via a lucky neck x-ray, he gave me a nice print out packet on it and didn't explain how serious it was at all.
