Friendly staff, has all the liquor you need and there's never really a line there so you're in and out very quick.

CoolVines recently opened their second location in JC and the space is insanely beautiful!…read more The new spot is in the base of the Modera Lofts, and is about twice the size of the other location on Grove. Twice the size means they have about twice the selection of booze, plus an in-house cafe, a market area with some groceries and a gift section with adorable giftables mainly related to alcohol (shakers, cocktail kits, ice buckets, etc). This is definitely a one stop if you have any entertaining needs. Liquor at CoolVines is definitely priced on the higher end, so just be aware. You won't find as many mainstream brands. They have a ton of local selection and funky brands that I have never heard of. It's always an adventure when I stop in. I mainly stick to wine when I'm making the trip to CoolVines. They have a ton of great bottles in between the 12-14$ range, and there is always a cool new option to try. The packaging on most bottles here is always adorable and make for great decoration on the bar. Whenever I give a bottle of wine as a gift I always come to CoolVines because they do a great job of wrapping the bottle up with tissue paper and ribbon. I'm equidistant to both locations, but I'll probably opt to visit this location in the future because of how large the selection is!

Its just one block away from the Path train station at Journal Square in the nearby shopping area so it's very convenient if you need to grab something quick on your way home or elsewhere. If you compare it to other liquor stores nearby, it's generally the prices may be around 10% higher, but the convenience balances out the cost. And they have hidden sales on some items which can totally beat even large liquor stores like Buyrite. The interior is like any other corner convenience store, so they also offer snacks, beverages, and lottery tickets. The crowd can vary but you will often encounter some empoverished looking folk, which is common of any liquor shop in an up and coming urban area. Youll be fine if you grab what uou are looking for and leave. Overall, if you need to grab some alcoholic drinks fast, this is a go to spot.

My friend and I stopped by Boulevard Liquor in Jersey City after doing some grocery shopping. We…read morewere carrying our groceries in tote bags, not plastic shopping bags. As soon as we walked in, we weren't greeted -- instead, the man behind the counter immediately stared at us and told us to leave our bags at the front. I've shopped in plenty of places with totes before and have never been treated like that. It was obvious we were being profiled. The man, an older Asian gentleman, watched us like a hawk the entire time we were browsing, making it clear we weren't welcome. It became so uncomfortable that my friend didn't even want to spend his money there. As we left, I told the man directly that it's wrong to assume the worst of people and that he should do better. Whether they want to admit it or not, Boulevard Liquor clearly profiles customers based on how they look. I will never go back -- and if you value being treated with basic respect, neither should you.

When you ignore that, you can also see the in-house kitchen that serves a lot of food, including breakfast sandwiches. For those like me who like an egg and cheese on a roll on occasion, this is a good spot to grab it if you choose. It's not cheap by all intensive purposes, but it does the job. Probably wouldn't trust much else, but at least the hot food is good.

Sprove has changed so much!!! They now offer so much more hot foods, including gimbap!!…read more If you haven't been, Sprove is a grocery store but it's so much more! There is a deli counter where you can get sandwiches and to go sushi and salads, there is an Asian station where you can get things like bibimbap, upon, tofu soup, pho, pad Thai, or even beef bone broth soup, or you can make your own stirfry, if you're in a rush then you can get their already prepared to go hot foods or check out their buffet in the back!! There is also a second floor with seating and a sushi counter (although this may just be on the week days) On your way out you can grab some wine from the wine store, pick up a birthday card, or even grab some frozen dumplings. Honestly you never know what you will find here!! That's my favorite part!! I often check out the chips aisle - I love trying new things and this section always changes and has the most interesting packaging!! I also really like the frozen section - it's not your typical shop rite super market staples!! One time I got frozen boba that you make at home in the microwave!! What else what else.... oh yea they also have a lot of fancy chocolate, cakes, and fresh vegetable or fruit juices. I saw they also started offering meat!! Overall a very fun place and a great addition to that area - the residents who live upstairs are so lucky!!!
