He was absolutely amazing in helping me find the lowest pricing available, walking me through the process, and answering all the questions about sewer lines, solar panels, coverage, and mandated requirements to have insurance. He was able to help me cut down our original quote by a few hundred dollars. Most of all, he was super patient and really helped ease my concerns when our insurance suddenly did not renew. The pricing I received was great and dramatically lower than the other quotes I had received. Unfortunately, the follow-up from my sales representative, Jonathan Garcia, CA Insurance License #0D97893, was extremely disappointing. We spent more than 45 minutes on the phone putting the quotes together, and he said he would email me all the information so I could review it. I never received the email. I called twice to follow up and eventually reached someone else, but she was unable to access the quotes. After investing that much time, it was incredibly frustrating to feel like the entire conversation and effort had been wasted. You should not have to follow up multiple times just to get the information needed to purchase an insurance policy. If the pricing had not been so competitive, I would have walked away. Thankfully, I later chatted with Cheryl, who was amazingly helpful, responsive and a pleasure to work with. She deserves five stars! read more

Lula was beyond fantastic. She was extremely validating, patient, and helpful. She really went above and beyond to support me as much as she could. The initial agent who helped me back in April with my policy, Anthony Ramirez, deceived me. He didn't explain all of the details and nuances regarding the education discount, so now I am left without it and paying a much higher premium than agreed upon. It went from $222 a month to now $290 a month. That's more expensive than what I was paying with Allstate, and I left them after about 7 years because I was seeking a lower premium. I wouldn't have proceeded with the policy had I known all the proper details. It automatically left a bad taste in my mouth and made me feel like I want to switch over to another insurance company, but Lula basically canceled out all those ill feelings specifically during my phone call with her today. I'm still very much disappointed that the education discount wasn't communicated thoroughly and stripped away from me, but Lula at least got me out of my spiraling, anxiety inducing state. You truly never know what someone is going through, and Lula interacted with me with so much thought and care. read more

Their AI is horrible however, I was on hold for a very short minute. Once the live sales representative Shane Case was able to speak with me, he listen to what I was searching for. He was able to assess everything and explained the gap insurance which their company carries. He also went through the auto and renters insurance. He looked for ways to help me save money and for the Plan to work and tailored it towards my needs. It's a good insurance plan for all three items that I needed and a great rate; way lower than what I was paying with the other insurance company. Shane was very professional, polite and attentive. Through these many years, we have never been disappointed with AIS. The customer service is great, but the hold times can be long. The quotes are competitive (we have Mercury Insurance), and they will quote over a broad range of carriers. I was stressing about getting a new auto policy. When I would get a quote from a few other people they told me that I had to get it approved from underwriting and it would take two weeks. This has been the worst insurance experience I've ever had. My homeowners policy was canceled without any notice, all because AIS failed to tell me the payment method needed to be updated. Not a single email, call, or message from them -- nothing. I tried calling multiple times to fix it and open a new policy. Their automated system claims they'll call you back, and I left my number at least five times. They never returned a single call. Most of the time, nobody even answers the phone. The level of customer service is unbelievable in the worst way. With State Farm no longer offering homeowners policies in California, I expected AIS to at least act like they care about their customers. Instead, they completely dropped the ball. I would never deal with this agency again and I strongly recommend everyone stay away. They do not communicate, they do not follow up, and they clearly do not value their customers. read more

Consumers be aware of AIS! I had gotten written quotes from these agents three times before I went ahead and purchased a car, relying on their quote. However, after purchasing a vehicle, I was notified that my driving record was not eligible for underwriting with Orion Insurance, a subsidiary of Mercury Insurance. They had overlooked an accident on my record, which would not have qualified for underwriting. But they called themselves insurance specialists. Sure does not sound like a specialist to me. Stay far, far away. They are a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mercury Insurance. If you have any issues, they will not provide any transcript or customer service call records. If you apply for an insurance policy, and Mercury declines it, neither AIS nor Mercury will issue any formal document as to the reasons why. What does this mean for you? It means that if you have a bad experience, as I did with a homeowners policy application, it will impossible to prove it. read more

I just switched cars (new lease; previous one expired) and the auto finance requested a change on my auto insurance policy. I spoke with CSR Cheryll Guesno (Cheryll G ), who was super helpful! She had a wonderful, positive and friendly attitude. In December, Mercury cancelled my home insurance without ANY notification, claiming the autopay was refused by the bank. It wasn't. They never billed my card. Just cancelled the policy. I found insurance elsewhere. Today, I logged on to change my address for my car policy. Found out they cancelled my auto insurance a month ago. Same reason. My card was never billed. My bank has no record of refusing any autopay requests. My Mercury Insurance from AIS was a straight scam. How is this not illegal? read more

They sold my name to every fly bu night insurance company out there and my phone rang off the hook. How embarrising for Mercury and AIS to conduct business like this. Its ok I was denied, but the ausacity not to email or even call a potential customer to advise of the outcome, that is a clear sign of a shady business. HOME OWNERS POLICY: After three mistakes they've made, I would call them "sloppy". They sent me a cancelation notice stating I had mold and didn't repair it based off a dark photo. Never had mold. Received neither communication sent to old address. Found my house was completed listed incorrectly (footage, foundation type) and policy was double what it should be. Corrected that but AIS forgot to submit to insurance company. Had I not called to follow-up, I would have been cancelled...again. Attempting to fix, given incorrect info to submit photos today. I've been offered a home insurance by Arrowhead General through AIS, and it's been hell trying to get a hold of someone to answer for days! How in the world do you stay in business? If AIS can't even afford to hire a cricket to answer the phone in the home insurance department then why have one? Emailed them, nothing. They transferred me on 5 different occasions and all 5 had a hold time of over 30 minutes. Absolute lunacy of a company. They have all these bogus 5-star reviews, too!
