Per my insurance company, it is on the same tab in Availity - Providers- TriWest; when you submit the referrals (as the provider). Only a referral was made and PT requires both. So now it still needs to be submitted but now they are saying my PCP needs to. This was the same way in east region (now west for Texas) so I don't know why this is like a new thing to them with authorizations. They worked me into rehab in the meantime which is nice; when I called they wouldn't do that without charging me per visit out of pocket. Keep in mind up and dealing with this for many years so I looked at him like he was crazy, he smiled and told me "you'll see" After the first treatment, I didn't feel any better but during the second treatment he told me that's common and that things would shift after the second round. A few days later, I called in and explained it wasn't much better. They said sometimes it takes a third round of dry needling for a stubborn case like mine. After three visits there is virtually no change. I feel taken advantage of even though I truly believe it was not their intention.
