This is a great service. I used it at London/Heathrow to move a bag to my hotel in London. This allowed me to have a day knocking around the city on foot without worrying about having to check in at my hotel right away. The bag arrived at the hotel when promised, and the AirPortr staff was attentive and helpful. But I'm knocking off one star for a small glitch.
I booked this service off an email link provided to me by British Airways. I failed to notice that the email link automatically booked the service on the day of my flight, rather than the day of my arrival. This is an issue for people headed to Europe from North America, who typically travel overnight. My flight left on the evening of Jan. 13, and arrived in London on the morning of Jan. 14. But the email link set up by British Airways automatically booked me for baggage delivery on the 13th.
Realizing my mistake, I reached out by email to fix things the morning of the 13th, about 14 hours before my flight departed. But AirPortr was a bit slow on the uptake here. Even though I'd alerted AirPortr to the problem via email, the company's staff called me twice later in the morning to check why I was delayed. I took several more emails to fix things.
So the glitch could have been prevented by providing a proper sign up link, and by noticing that I had alerted the company to this problem via email before I got a pair of phone calls. But once things were straightened out the service was smooth and I was pleased to have a luggage-free day in London. I'd definitely use AirPortr again. read more
