We visited on a sunny day and took full advantage of their amazing outdoor seating--it's the kind of spot you could easily spend hours at. The ambiance is warm and inviting, whether you're stopping in for a morning coffee, grabbing lunch, or winding down with a drink in the evening. It's rare to find a place that nails all three, but The Sandbar truly does. We started with their specialty drink (highly recommend--it was delicious) and a spinach and cheese pastry that was flavorful and fresh. I also tried their Old Fashioned, and it was well-balanced and smooth. For food, we went with the YORK sandwich--Italian salami, turkey, and ham--and it was packed with flavor. We also tried a focaccia sandwich with a sausage on the side, and both were excellent. From the friendly service to the quality of food and drinks, we loved everything about this place. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by The Sandbar--you won't regret it!

If we had more time we would have ordered some food too.

We came specifically for the Friday night Fish Fry, which comes with one side, and they were out of two of them (our first and second choices, unfortunately). I ended up ordering Beer Battered Fish with Rice Pilaf, and the other two at the table ordered Deep Fried Fish with Waffle Fries. It was 8:17 before our order came out - a full 45 minutes after we arrived. The Rice Pilaf was barely warm and flavorless. I only ate one bite of it (1/10) but the fish was excellent (9/10). The fish portion was large - I could only eat half, and took the other half of the fish to go. I left the rice. I asked about dessert to go, and neither of the cheesecakes on the menu were available, but the server said they had some chocolate peanut butter cheesecake, which wasn't listed anywhere. I got that and had a few bites before putting it in the fridge - it was ok, but nothing special (5/10). I'm not sure I'll even finish it, and that's saying something because cheesecake is my favorite dessert. Ambiance was dark and kind of dingy. Things needed to be dusted and wiped down. It felt like there was a sticky layer of grease on them (chairs, columns, table edges, etc.). Would probably go back and give them another shot, but would likely try a weekday when it's not so busy and all menu items are available. Overall 6/10
