After requesting bids and talking to a number of contractors, we hired Mike and his team to remove our old Fujitsu mini split system and replace it with the 2022 models. It was a great business experience start to finish. Beforehand, Mike promptly provided the necessary insurance paperwork for our property. Mike and his team showed up when they said they would, prepared the spaces and protected our surfaces and property without even being asked, and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. Cleanup and haul-away of the old units and pipes was done thoroughly; we didn't have any cleanup to do after they left. How refreshing! Mike and his team were also unfailingly friendly and respectful. Mike even checked in a couple of times over the next couple of weeks to see how the units were performing. They are working great; much better than our old setup. We plan to have Mike back in the Spring for a system checkup, and we couldn't recommend Mike and his team more strongly. These days it's rare to find someone with Mike's level of experience and eagerness to help. He loves figuring out the best solution for the space. He takes pride in his work, and with good reason. I can't say enough good things about Airmax. Mike did the most custom professional job I could have ever imagined. We did a central air system for a 3 bedroom, 2000 square foot apartment on the lower east side of manhattan. I had 7 different HVAC companies come to the apartment before I hired Airmax and every single one of them acted like my job was impossible. When Mike came he assured me he could do the job and he absolutely delivered and more. He did custom ducts throughout the entire apartment, Mike (the owner) was on the job site EVERY single day with his workers. He is a true perfectionist and I couldn't be more thankful for that. The HVAC is working amazingly, every single person who comes into our apartment is amazed that we were able to put a central air unit into an apartment where you aren't allowed to put anything on the outside of the building. My air conditioner in my bedroom had stopped working. Mike responded immediately. He told me he would have to come out to give me an accurate assessment. This on the hottest day of the heatwave that we just had in New York. It was 100 degrees or more. He and his helper were here in less than an hour. He showed me the broken fan in the unit and said when this happens it is best to replace the unit. He said when I heard your voice I could tell you were elderly and there was no way I would let you remain without an air conditioner in this heat. I asked him if he could replace it TODAY! He said he would try. In about 1 hour he and his assistant were back at my house with a BRAND NEW AIR CONDITIONER AND INSTALLED IT IMMEDIATELY AND THE PRICE FOR THE WHOLE JOB ABSOLUTELY AMAZED ME. On this day I met 2 of the most professional, honest and caring people I have ever met. They treated me as if I were a member of their family!!! I send deepest apologies to Mike Hamden, owner and brains behind Airmax, Inc for this extremely overdue rave review. We made an appointment with him in mid April to have him stop by our co-op apt to get his estimate for yearly maintenance for our 3 thru the wall Friedrich ACs. As this job required proof of his having insurance, being licensed and bonded as required in our co-op, he promptly provided documentation via email to us for building management. He and his assistant were also Covid-19 vaccinated. He was able to stop by the same day, and it was clear he was experienced in the careful removal, transport to his work location to deep clean, disinfect and thoroughly examine the functioning of each unit. We were able to agree to a sum to cover the job as required; in the process of working on 2 of the units Mike found issues with them that we have agreed to wait until he comes across replacement parts required and it will be dealt with then. I was doing a large construction project on m home. My previous HVAC was a Frankenstein system. It was a damper system which barely cooled and summers were a nightmare. Mike came to my house, asked me some questions, came up with an amazing idea on how to transform my damper system into a true 2 zone system using the new Bosch heat pump systems. The service is unreal, Patrick is the best service man in the industry. Installation was managed by Dan. I cannot say enough about this man. He treats you home as if it's his own.
