I talked with an employee and we agreed that even though the coupon was out of date by 5 days, it was still posted and therefore I should get the discount. I got to the register and the clerk needed the manager to override the sale because it was out of date and he absolutely refused stating he couldn't do it and they are human and make mistakes. I said this is B.S., every store honors a posted coupon. He really didn't care and he wasn't nice. I shop this store quite often because I like to support local business but I will be driving 3 miles further to go to Walmart in the future.

This location used to be a dollar store. I was heading out to the grocery store the other day and needed just a few items for our new house. It could have waiting, but I figured I'd give this hardware store a try, since I was right there. I was looking for three things: numbers for our mailbox, a silver light switch cover (we were one short), and a plastic piece to go over a vent. Surprisingly, I found all three at this little gem. The only downside is that the switch covers only came in brown, cream, and white...no silver for a double switch. No worries. Since they were something like $1.39, I bought one for the time being until the next time I head out to Lowe's or Home Depot. On the down side...unfortunately, I don't think this place will get much business. It's in a bad location and really just can't compete with the bigger box stores. However, I hope it sticks around. The employees were more than helpful and I got a great big smile from the cashier. The prices are obviously a little more expensive than a bigger store, but they were not outrageous. For me, it was worth it to just have to drive a few miles down the road.

They also know what they're doing, and don't try to upsell or make you feel dumb for asking a question. The store has a wide variety of items, and a lot of things in a semi small space, but it doesn't feel messy or overstuffed. It's a very clean store, but not in a sterile untouchable way. Item not on paper copy so Clerk 1 asks if I remember price. I said $10.99. He says I think it's actually $15.99 and you're just saying $10.99. Ok, so someone should go check the price. Neither clerk went to get price so I went back to check. It was actually $10.39. Told clerk 1 it was $10.39 and he rang it up. First, I didn't appreciate being called a liar and second, one of those two clerks should have checked the price, not me. I remember a long time ago service at Bortz was outstanding, I won't be back.

They refuse to give a raincheck even though the ad said nothing about limited quantities. It seems they want to get you to the store for a "bait and switch".

So our tractor wouldn't start. So we took it to Fletcher's and they told us it was beyond fixing…read moreand they would buy it from us for $50. Or they can fix it for $1200. We ended up taking it to a guy we found on Facebook called Milich Small equipment repair in new Alexandria. He had it running and working for less than $20. We ended up giving him $100 tip because he wouldn't take anything for service. I do not recommend Fletcher. There are a bunch of crooks and they don't know what they're doing. The only reason we ever went to them was because they did one of our push mowers. And they told us that it was fixed they had to put a new carburetor on. Which somehow cost more than a lawnmower. So if you need repairs done, I will go to milich small equipment repair. he charges a flat rate of $50 for a service or less if it's something small. Any charges you when he get charged for the park. So if the park cost $20 to him he charged you $20 nothing extra like Fletcher. The carburetor that they put on our lawnmower, ended up dying like two years later. When Dan put on the new carburetor on our push mower, it cost the same amount. And he told us that it was a Chinese version that they put on that's why I didn't last that long but they charged us $300 for the carburetor.
