The Airds Hotel's afternoon tea gets my vote because they offer two extremely scenic views for their sittings. My family and I had been making an extreme road trip around Scotland and were stopping in Creag Mohr. This was a relatively short drive up the road and well worth it!
You may sit indoors or outdoors. The indoor seating could have been in a number of beautifully decorated rooms that were reminiscent of old libraries and afternoon parlors. The outside garden seating overlooked the beautiful Port Appin and was close to Castle Stalker. (Get your cameras ready!)
The food itself was really only ok as far as I was concerned. It was a lot of food and quite heavy. One of my road trippers got a little sick (not sure if it was a combination of driving, fatigue, and food). Still, the rest of us enjoyed the fresh air, the gorgeous grounds, and the respite that was offered.
I would caution my possibly obese or handicapped fellow Americans here in that the bathrooms were upstairs. It might take significant effort to make your way up there, and there is only one stall for both genders to share, as I recall. read more
