Worst experience in my life! I had non stop violent uncontrollable dry wretching causing high blood pressure and dizziness for hours before I was treated. I couldn"t even stand up. After several hours a miserable nurse wrecklessly stuck a catheder in my arm which blew a vein and was excruciating. It was agony. Bruising is unbelievable! She was absolutely careless. I think she had a bad day and took it out on me. I cried from the time I arrived til I left 7 hours later. The Doctor who saw me after over 6 hours was tired looking but helpful in the end. read more

We took my 9 yr old granddaughter to urgent care today. She has been throwing up and has severe stomach pain. There was one person ahead of us and no other person in sight. It is now two hours later, the waiting room is full and one person thus far has gone to see a doctor. My daughter asked the nurse if she was aware of how much pain the child is in and she got snarled at. I get that nurses are overworked, under paid, but really common courtesy has left that place. Sometimes, especially when it comes to kids, who have no pain tolerance, and when there is no one else around, rather than making someone who comes in after and out of province, a priority rather than attending a local resident never mind that person being a child. Terrible place. Staff is rude lazy and unprofessional at the front and triage. Nurses there should retake their schooling or made to take service training and how to be compassionate understanding and helpful training. read more

Not the way we wanted to spend Christmas evening, but the care we received was incredible! We're from Edmonton, and have never had this good of an experience at any urgent care or ER. worst place ever . I went because I hurt my elbow in the evening and i waited more than 8 hours and they wouldn't even see me . there were literally 4 patients the whole night and the staff was just chitchatting and gossiping the whole time With each other . Also very rude when you would ask them questions. after 8 hours when I ask them how long the lady literally shouted at me and said I have to sit down and they will call you when they have time and she told me there is still 2 hours wait. I just got fed up and left . Came home took 4 Advils and went to bed . Next day I went to my doctor and ask for an ex-ray and find out my elbow was broken badly . I hate this free health care system I rather pay if that's the case and get treated in a timely manner and not go through pain like I did . And these people should be fired that cannot attend 4 patients in 10 hours . There were staff of 3 nurses, front desk person and 2 doctors on site at the time I was there . read more

I went there with my 3 year old and he had his hand slammed in the car door. I told them he needed an X-ray. I didn't think he broke it but I guessed a fracture. They made us wait 3 hours then when we saw the doctor, they told us they don't X-ray under 8 years old. They wanted us to wait 3 days and to see if it got worse. What a huge waste of our time. I took my son to my doctor the next morning. They gave him an X-ray. I was right. He had a fracture. Thanks for nothing urgent care!!!! read more

A total waste of time. Between my son and I, who were both there to be seen, the doctor spent less than 6 minutes TOTAL with us. did not offer any solutions and was very short and standoffish. The visit consisted of her checking our ears, throat and listening to our chest. That is IT. Did not even address our medical concerns we were there for. We waited forever- and staff members were all just sitting and standing around the nurses station drinking their bevies and visiting once we got through the doors into the treatment area. I recently went in with chest pains and difficulty breathing, I thought I was having a heart attack. After being assessed by the triage nurse I was told that it would be a bit of a wait, which I expected. 1.5 hours later, which isn't long in my opinion, a paramedic did an EKG/ECG (don't remember which). He was professional, gentle and explained the process the entire time. He even pulled up the results of another EKG I did in March and showed me the comparison. Shortly thereafter I was given a bed, an IV and they did some blood work. The Dr thought I may have a blood clot in my lungs and gave me the option of going immediately to Peter Lougheed to get a CT done (which was astonishing as it was after midnight but he said he called ahead and spoke directly to the Radiologist and they'd be expecting me) or that he could give me blood thinner and I go the Peter Lougheed the following day. I found the staff here to be very professional, reassuring and friendly. I received top-notch care, I was never neglected, they came in ever so often to reassess. I was even given a couple warm blankets because I was cold. All told I was in and out in 4 hours and 47 mins and most of that time was spent in a bed getting treated. read more

I visited the Airdrie Urgent Care Clinic on Sunday, June 4th 2017 at approximately 7pm. The reason for my visit was that I had been experiencing unusual cold-like symptoms that were severe and prolonged. When I arrived I was prompted by a sign near triage stating that I had to stop behind a red line and wait until a triage nurse could see me. My fiancé and I stood there for 20 minutes, all the while, two nurses and an administrative worker stood at a desk chatting a meter away from us. For those 20 minutes we listened to them complain about patients, co-workers and their personal lives without any kind of acknowledgement that we were even stood there. Meanwhile, a line behind us started to form which included elderly people and families with young children. When they finally finished their conversations a nurse called me over to her desk to promptly tell me that it was a 4 hour wait, I said that it was no problem as I was in a considerable amount of pain. She checked my vitals, filled a chart and had me register with the administrative staff. I proceeded to wait three and a half hours until I was called up (which is not my concern, we live in a large city with many surrounding communities and wait times add up), when I was called it was a new nurse who quickly tried to usher me into another area to be looked at by a doctor and when I could not keep up, she barked at me saying, "that chair in the back, go sit there" and did not acknowledge me further. After another 20 minutes a young doctor came to see me, he asked about my history, checked my ears, throat, glands and head. Told me it was a common cold, to drink plenty of fluids and take some advil. He also mentioned that he noticed that I had been swabbed for strep throat two months prior and that he felt he didn't need to test again for it because of this and sent me home. Today, Monday, June 5th 2017 I decided to see another doctor for a second opinion. He did all the same tests and immediately prescribed me an antibiotic to treat my symptoms, which turns out was strep throat as well as an ear infection. I am thoroughly disappointed with the treatment I received at Airdrie urgent care, I understand that being a health services professional is a difficult job that requires a lot from a person, but I was not treated with any decency or respect from any of the staff working on this occasion. For patients to wait hours on end to see a doctor, only to receive less than 5 minutes of a doctors time and be sent home with no answers is a shame. I would recommend that AHS not only trains their staff to better treat and respect their patients, but also how to behave in the workplace in general. Lunchroom gossip needs to be saved for the lunchroom, not the front desk where 20+ people can hear you and are waiting to be served. In addition, I would recommend that for patients (who are usually in pain/miserable/exhausted as is from whatever is ailing them) be treated with some kind of courtesy or kindness from AHS staff in order to provide a positive experience for both parties. I saw several young families come through those doors with injured and sick little ones who were treated the exact same way I was, and the waiting room was filled with chatter of how disappointing the treatment from staff was. Lastly, Doctors need to be able to either have more time or more patience in order to better diagnose and recommend treatment for their patients; having two visit two doctors offices in a 24 hour period is not enjoyable and much of my ordeal could have been avoided if the doctor who saw me at Airdrie Urgent Care had actually taken the time to do his job properly. read more

The 2 stars are for the front end staff and the very nice radiology tech. I was in a great deal of pain...did not recieve any pain meds. When I finally saw the female Dr. She was not friendly and i asked if i could have something for pain, she replied that i was offered a tylenol earlier and refused. Yes I did because regular tylenol would not alleviate what i was enduring. Aside from that she said that she couldnt see any fractures and I could start walking on my foot??? I was shocked. (see pics) She said a radiologist would look at the xrays and call if he saw anything. (The call never came)Then she asked if i needed anything else? I asked what do you mean? Crutches or a tensor? I dont know? (she is the Dr.) She said crutches are $22. & Tensor free. I guess give me a tensor. And...that was the end. The next day went to emerg @ PLC in Calgary. Was a good and mutually respectful experiemce through all levels of care. At the end of the day xrays showed two fractures and absolutely no walking on it. I wonder how much damage i did in that 24 hour period of walking on a double fractured foot & ankle? read more

Terrible all around. Everyone's rude and too busy chatting amongst themselves to help. Every single time anyone I know has gone there, its been the wrong diagnosis. Went there with a broken arm, got xrays, got told its fine and to go home. 3 days later went to the hospital and it was indeed broken. A family member had signs of ecoli, doctor prescribed her meds, when we went to get them filled, they were for something totally different and could of made her seriously ill if she would of taken them. Don't waste your time here. Ever. They are all awful, rude, and uncaring. read more

Very nice setting. The building is nice and modern and staff are helpful at times. However it gets super busy and I guess it's not their fault but they took 3 hours to get my dad in who was very critical. Once they got him they sent him to a semi private room. Overall a good urgent care Center read more

TERRIBLE! Not urgent at all...you pretty much have to be bleeding to death before you're helped. 6.5 hour wait time is a bit much...no?
