Like how the Federal Bureau of Land Management or Federal Fish & Game Dept. is always making bureaucratic rules that must be followed and adhered to I hate that! I admit it: I have a HEALTHY DISTRUST of the Feds! There I said it. Having said that, I think that one of the better Federal agencies is the FAA. They do a pretty good job of keeping planes flying smoothly. This FAA office is located near Montgomery Field in San Diego and is responsible for the safety of civil aviation in the region. Other than some recent examples of Air Traffic Controllers (on the east coast!) falling asleep on the job, the FAA is one of the better reasons for paying taxes. A neighbor works at this location and now my son will be very privileged to attend an Aviation Career Education Camp this coming week at this facility. He is beyond excited since this is his big career goal. The kid just loves planes! I feel somewhat responsible since his formative years were spent living directly under the flight path of San Diego's Lindbergh Field. I have also schlepped him all over the world on planes, and his favorite hobby is listening to the Air Traffic Control channel on the internet. So yes, there is one Fed office that I cannot manage to work up a righteous indignation over and it is this one-the FAA! Disclaimer: however, this does not mean that I have now given up my right to continue to RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE! Peace out.

I walked through some of them and they were pretty huge! I've always seen the inside of military planes in movies but it definitely feels different when you're actually inside! There were also multiple booths in the area, with a Monster pop up, giving away free drinks. We also participated in the pie throwing fundraiser, which was a lot of fun. Although one of my friends got shaving cream all over herself and there were no paper towels nearby to wipe off. One thing to note is that there aren't very many food booths and places to sit. Also, they ran out of soap near the bathrooms. Some ppl did bring their folding chairs so at least they were prepared. I was able to snag some preferred seating during the Blue Angels Airshow & it was totally worth it! Grandstand seating was pretty tight, so make sure you go to the bathroom before the show. The precision and skill level of these pilots are astonishing! It was as though they moved as one aircraft when they performed formations. Afterwards, I was able to go to the O club & I met a few Blue Angels pilots! They were so nice and accommodating with so many ppl wanting to take a pic. Place was super lively and it was a great way to end the night!

After a variety of services used it as a home, in the 90's as p[art of the BRAC multiple USMC aviation units were consolidated there. The major unit there at present is the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing which comprises a variety of aircraft and types. They have a museum which can be difficult to access and like most bases unless you are active service or have business there it is off limits. That being said they have a killer airshow that is a must see. From a spotting standpoint it is a tough one. There are not a lot of great close in spots. I get there are noise complaints. However, for most, you bough a house next to and around a major military aviation base, and it would have been in your disclosures when you signed off in it. SO not sure what all the complaints are. Retroactive NIMBYism at its finest

The parks, malls, eateries, movie theatres, neighborhoods, and schools were great places that I can recall. Before COVID, before Manila Mesa, before traffic congestion, before social media, and before overpopulation, Mira Mesa was a great place to grow up in. Hey, I think I turned out alright. I moved out of there early 2000's and I'm glad I did. It just isn't the same anymore. I miss my old stomping grounds that are sadly no longer there or have been renovated or under new ownership. Neighborhoods don't seem so safe anymore. There's an increase in crime and accidents. This year of 2020 hasn't made it easier either. I hate you Covid! I'll always remember the good times where I could play with the neighborhood kids outside, walk to the park, movie theatre, arcade store, or convenience store without a worry in the world. I was fortunate to enjoy my childhood innocence and not be so cautious of people or mass media. No distractions and just enjoyed being a kid. This review is split: 5 stars from 1980s-1990s. 2000s-present gets a sad 1 star. Overall, 3 stars ! Thanks for the unforgettable memories Mira Mesa aka Manila Mesa now. What was even more outstanding was their excessive entourage! A SWAT team, Emergency Negotiation Unit, 40 cops, 20 units, 2 flash bangs, AND 2 ambulances, just in case, which fortunately weren't utilized. A very aggressive, effective, expedient, and peaceful apprehension! Without going into the gory details and deep disappointment of all my LEOs lies, falsified reports and overall betrayal regarding my $6 million home heist, (deemed a 'civil matter'), wherein I, a disabled, innocent, law-abiding senior citizen and legal owner, am repeatedly framed, falsely arrested, gangstalked and maliciously prosecuted, as all run cover for the complicit criminals who stole it are also stalking me. The OCSD admittedly destroyed and forensically proved tampered with evidence, and has withheld more. I truly wish I had purchased my home in San Diego County and not Orange, I'd still have it! P.S. This is my first positive review of any Law Enforcement agency for all the above reasons, and MANY more I can't enumerate, including a 3rd pending lockout by the OCSD, plotted by HBPD, and my 18-month LIAR Airbnb host who wrote a letter about how amazingly reliable I am. He then lied that I committed battery to block my account, so I can't book an airbnb! He, his wife, and the predator suddenly began harassing, blocking me from my food, and barging into my room. My hosts were jumping into my bed, and all their terrorizations forced me to change my locks. Phelps, I cried to my assaults, falsely arrested ME, as my hosts lied about the SAME assault upon asking them to exit my room. After I was admitttedly viciously assaulted, and nearly raped, Phelps never arrested my assailant when eviction judge AND host both stated he assaulted me. I still bear a scar 4 months later, and was never charged with the battery lie. Who'd believe at 67, 2 IDENTICAL batteries on 2 people in the same home in 2 days, yet only I bear a scar? A false arrest to expedite a false eviction, as I was paying. I never alleged a battery or received one in my life until 1/9/25. All these and more heinous horrors, as a lifelong, homeowning entrepreneur, being chased place to place for 6 years, enduring break-ins, as my unpermitted demolished home remains a severe, vacant fire hazard. My cars are chronically vandalized, three bank accounts hacked, (one to closure). I was drugged at a diner/bar, fainted all night, sustaining a severe brain, hip, and knee injury as well. None of these violent events ever occurred in my life until I reported to the OCSD my real estate/mortgage fraud, elder abuse, and criminal admitted stalking with PIs. I only received denigrating, mocking, insulting falsified reports. Then, the chronic aerial and ground stalking began 24/7 nationwide since 11/21 Upon viewing America's Finest's exemplary police work, I felt compelled to give them the credit that's due and wish they were my law enforcement! I'd love to see the same display at my property located at 2 Calle Ameno, San Clemente, and a couple of flash bangs at a few unscrupulous OC LE agencies!'
