I first met Super K when I flew to LA for a Convention. On the forum boards, several people offered to pick up attendees from the various LA airports. I choose Super K, though we had never met, he picked up my travel companions and I. He even greeted us with a balloon bouquet. Presented us with a pee chee of the hotel facilities, color printout map of the restaurant/stores outside the hotel and the convention schedule. He must have made 10 trips between the hotel and the various LA airports. Impressed doesn't begin to cover it. Come August, it was an estranged relative's birthday and I wanted to do something. I have actually never bought or sent them any presents and have never been close, but I finally thought about making an effort. So I thought why not send a one of a kind balloon art piece to them in Long Beach. I immediately thought of Super K. I do NOT know the LA area. To me, it's all Los Angeles. So I wasn't even sure if he could deliver. I called up Super K, and explained I wanted it delivered this week. I called up the recipient to find out the schedule surreptitiously, as I wanted this to be a surprise. They're unemployed and I don't have the spouse's phone number. So the only thing I could do was have Super K arrange the whole thing. "How horrible", I thought, "I'm asking a delivery company to make all the arrangements, so it can be a secret surprise. What kind of grief are they going to give me?" The next day, I called up Super K and said I wanted the delivery that day, and..... since I want it to be a surprise... you'll have to do all the calling and figure out when and where to drop it off....". And you know what his reaction was? "OK." He didn't even flinch, no sighs, nothing of annoyance. I was sooooo impressed. I was met with a positive, okay I'll handle it attitude - fantastic! I asked how are you going to do this, and he said, "I'll just call up and say I have to deliver something and they need to be around to sign for it." Great, hopefully they won't be suspicious. I provided details about the honoree and what was important to them, so he could create the balloon delivery. I finished my order at 11 am. And at 4 pm, when I retrieved my voice mail, I had a thank you call that they had received the balloon and they were so incredibly touched. The happiness in their voice was just beautiful!!!. When I called up Super K, to see how it went, he told me they were so happy they even tipped him! This, coming from a person who is unemployed and has little financial means. So this says a lot. Well now it's many weeks later and you know what? This relative STILL mentioned the balloon delivery!!!!!! I couldn't believe it. They said how special it was. I can honestly say that we now have a relationship, have spoken a few times and we are growing closer, all because of latex. And I couldn't have done it without Super K's help! PROS: Attitude, timeliness, professional, caring, 'gets it', reasonable price, more umph than a flower delivery! CONS: I only wished he had sent me a picture of the art piece, as I knew this person has no means to send such. read more
