Bill Cooper with Shinglemasters was the last contractor to come by and without even knowing what the other quotes were, came in $1000 under the lowest quote. Unfortunately the weather pushed the start date by several weeks but when the crew arrived the first morning they didn't waste any time getting started and had the first house completed and were well into work on the second house. Day 2 was just as productive as day 1 even with several passing showers in the morning. The work was completed, clean-up done and they were pulling away by mid afternoon. I would highly recommend them to anyone that is considering roof repair/replacement. The crew was highly professional and courteous the entire time they were at our home and always cleaned up at the end of the day. They also made several trips around both houses with rolling magnets to make sure there were no nails on the ground. The ''icing on the cake" so to speak was when we got the invoice, even with the extra costs for some deck repair on both homes, his final bill was less than $50 more than the next lowest bid and that bid didn't have any decking replacement costs. As far as I'm concerned the quality and professionalism the exhibited more than exceeds the price.

In fact, we had the roof replaced so we could sell our house, but the house looked so beautiful with the new roof we decided to take it off the market and enjoy it for a few more years. They meticulously replaced anything they had to move in order to work, even putting my grandchildren's little Adirondack chairs exactly where they belonged. He is the consummate professional, offering assistance in the decision-making process but never being overbearing. He checked on us throughout the process and after. He was polite and easy to work with. He is building his business, and he takes pride in everything he and his workers do. He made sure his roofers cared as much as he did. We put off replacing the roof for a while because we didn't want to deal with the hassle and the expense. Start to finish about 8hrs including repairs that had to be done to weathered/rotten wood. They took care of the surrounding areas of my home and protected them with tarps. Zero damage. They cleaned up and left my roof and yard free of debris. High and Tight also provided financing options with low and no interest options. The contract was signed the first week of November 2023 (nearly seven months ago) and he never showed up to do the work or return the money. I have texted, emailed, called and even went to his job sites and he still refuses to repay the money back. He also does not return text or phone calls. I have since hired someone else to do the work and they have completed the job. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Merican Builders to do any work at all.
