There's a huge practice - easily a dozen primary care physicians - but generally you only see your doctor. Dr. K is young, easy to joke around with but serious at the same time. He orders tests when necessary, and doesn't necessarily push pills. Being in the NYU network also makes it easier for other doctors affiliated with NYU to pull up your files electronically (MRIs and the like). That's a huge benefit because my dermatologist was able to see my most recent blood test results without my having to bring them along.

I did not ask for anything outside of the annual physical and was not told that anything outside of the annual physical was being done. I received a statement for a copay in September, which I called to dispute since there should not be a copay for an annual physical. I received another statement for the copay in November. When I contacted CareMount again, they advised me that my insurance said the copay is valid. I contacted my insurance, they informed me that CareMount is submitting a code that is not covered by the Affordable Care Act and therefore the copay is valid. I have now had many phone calls to the Billing Department at CareMount, and they cannot provide any information other than saying "our coding department says the code is correct based on the notes the doctor provided". It's obviously not correct for an annual physical, or it wouldn't be triggering a copay. Every time I ask the Billing Dept. to advise who else I can speak to since they can't resolve the issue, their response has been "I have no idea who you can speak to". I called the doctor's office directly and before I could even finish my initial explanation I was interrupted and told that "We are just the receptionists here, you need to call Billing." I explained I've called the Billing Dept. many times and have been told that the coding department confirmed the code is correct based on the notes the doctor submitted. I asked the receptionist to please have the doctor contact the Coding department to clear up what is clearly a mistake, and she laughed and told me that "the doctor does not do that. Once the notes are sent, it's out of his hands." What sort of terrible customer service/patient relationship is this? The doctor sends his notes and then has zero concern over what happens? This is an issue stemming from the doctor, and his office doesn't even want to listen to my concerns or help to clear this up. I do not recommend seeing this doctor or dealing with CareMount in general, as they are billing for services not rendered.
