I don't get to this place often but I have been coming since it opened and the quality of food has not changed. It's always fresh and tasty. Service is sometimes not super friendly as it could be but its polite. The ambience is pretty. Could be considered a little dive. Pricing is fair for the amount of sushi you get. read more

We ordered a takeout tray for 2 that included 2 miso soups. I loved the variety of fish that was included in it and was very fresh. The portion of miso soup was enough. The tray came with everything we needed including chopsticks, ginger soy sauce, ginger and Wasabi. I have eaten here before, sitting in, this was the first time I did takeout, the food was ready at the specified time. I would recommended this restaurant. read more

One of my favorite sushi spots. Food is always so fresh and the rolls are packed and thick. They have some pretty decent specials which I like including the 50% off sushi rolls on certain ones each day. Came in for a late lunch with some friends and were seated right away. The waiter was really good and we didnt have to ask for anything. I ordered a few rolls including a shrimp tempura roll, chicken tempura and a sweet potato roll which Ive never tried before. All the rolls were rolled tight and filled with ingredients. I also ordered a miso soup and a salad and they both were tasty. read more

Went here for dine in, and prices stayed the same compared to Ninja sushi. So we got chicken hibachi and it was good. But their shrimp teriyaki bento box was okay. Shrimps just sat in teriyaki sauce, and fried vegetables were just plain. California roll and shumai were good, and it came with soup. This place is the best for sushi, but for entree it best to go somewhere else. read more

My food was ready fast.. but did not seem fresh. It was 7/10. The lady at the register was a little rude and dismissive. I didn't pay much attention to the ambiance, I was in and out! read more

First time dining in the restaurant and I have to say that this is one of the better sushi places in Somerton besides Ninja. My order came out fast and sushi was delicious! The servers were very respectful and considerate. They greeted me as I walked in and asked where I'd like to sit. The restaurant is spacious and neat, it's easy to spot a table if your friends are in the restaurant waiting for you! read more

New place that recently opened in a former bakery space and some other prior business. It's right next to Benny the Bums Seafood which has been around for some time, so I guess this space just needs the right tenant to stay open for a while. For now, they offer their standard rolls @ 50% off, and special rolls @ 20% off. I do not know how long this will last or it is a marketing gimmick. They have it right in their take out menu so I think it is the latter. I had a total order of $21 for 1 special roll (Red Lobster - Asparagus, avocado, crunchy inside, spicy lobster on top) and 3 regular (Crunchy Spicy Scallop, Shrimp Tempura, Shrimp Avocado). All of the sushi was average with nothing to absolutely rave about, but it certainly was not bad. I would go back for a sushi fix. The restaurant was dark inside with a wooden bench for waiting for take out. It seats about 40. Staff was pleasant and well tempered to deal with the jackass who had so many specifics for the $100 order he wanted for takeout. Even I was getting angry with his belittling the staff. I hope they got everything right! I'll have to try the non-sushi offerings someday. read more

Come for the deals. Stay for the sushi. This place has the best deals so far in philly for some decent sushi.

I usually frequent this place for the sushi, which is very good. (Something to note this review is not based on the sushi!) I tried the chicken teriyaki, and I honestly wish I would have just gotten my usual california roll. The chicken was extremely dry and the "vegetables" that came with my meal (2 broccoli spears and 2 pieces of carrot) were just horrible. I did enjoy the salad and the ginger dressing that came with it. Don't think I will be getting anything other than sushi from this place read more

This girl s my first time ordering from here, I order the Chicken (5 oz) & NY Steak (4 oz) Hibachi. Well honey that was not what I received, when I got home and open the food all I could see was mushroom mushrooms and zucchini. I got more mushrooms mask as steak and chicken than the actual meats. Don't charge for something your not going to give. Very disappointed. The food tastes good but they cheats you outta the meat you pay for. read more

Best sushi in the northeast. Such consistent quality and unbeatable prices. Your order will be ready fast, it'll be delicious, and you'll be able to get plenty of food at a VERY reasonable price. Please tip them y'all. This place deserves it big time. read more

My party of two stopped here last weekend for a quick lunch at 1ish on Sunday. The restaurant was completely empty aside from us. We were seated immediately of course. The server gave us menus and took our drink order very quickly as well. They don't have any lunch specials on the weekend so I ordered an app and sushi off of the regular menu. We ordered the tempura app which came with to shrimp and a few veggies. I also ordered the fried spicy salmon roll, shrimp tempura roll and California roll. The app and sushi was very good and tasted fresh. I definitely would visit again and recommend this place. read more

This sushi spot is the closest one to me so I always make a stop about once a month. When I dine in, the waitress is always friendly and attentive and it has a nice ambience. The prices are extremely cheap because they seem to always be 50% off for rolls which makes this place even more enticing. Overall pretty good! Tip: my favorite sushi to order is the Philadelphia roll, Spicy Kani roll, Snow Crab Roll and Mexican roll-- it never disappoints! read more

We ordered take out sushi $28 worth . We got 4 little slices of ginger and only a pee size of wasabi . It was ridiculous.

Sushi is delicious here and really good priced. They also make the sushi really quickly so your wait won't be long. Sushi is priced from 20-50 percent off even the "special" rolls are pretty cheap. Solid sushi spot in the northeast. read more

Pretty decent sushi joint. Always 50% off it seems too. We were seated right away and our waitress was pretty on the ball. We were in and out and that was exactly what we wanted. I ordered three rolls: cucumber roll, shrimp / avocado roll, and chicken tempura roll. Nothing out of this world, but not bad. I also had the miso soup to start and it was very good! Would I make this my go-to sushi place? No. However, I know I eventually will be back. read more

What a tasty find! And so close to home! When I first started visiting Philly on the regular, I was astonished how awful the sushi restaurants were (are). I figured, hey, I'm from LA where the sushi is awesome, of course everything elsewhere would be disappointing. And every sushi place I went to was terrible. Usually in terms of food quality, but some were terrible in other regards, such as service. Ahi Sushi makes me feel like I'm back on Ventura Blvd. Lots of excellent sushi and rolls, with most being 50% off. And the rolls are a good size too. What's not to like? I remember when I was younger, decent sushi was expensive and reserved for special occasions. It's not like that here. I don't understand Philly's fascination with Old Bay Seasoning. It's really not for me. There's the Double Crab roll and it has sprinkled Old Bay Seasoning on it. So if you're into that, enjoy. If not, well, now you know. I especially liked the tuna sushi and yellowtail sushi. The under control roll was particularly good and the sakura roll. I've already been back since trying it last week. The fish is fresh and delicious. The service is very good. What's not to like? Well not much that I've found. I'm very happy so far. read more

Ahi Sushi - Double crab roll, out of control roll plus many more! - Japanese Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

I am very skeptcal trying sushi in places I've never been - but who knew that there was good sushi in Northeast Philly? I picked this place based on the yelp reviews - but I am glad I went here and tried it! I got the dragon shrimp tempura and spicy crunch tuna. A plus about this place is that they use less rice on the outside - its a thin layer. There was more fish than rice which is always a plus! The prices are very decent as well, we got a total of 4 rolls with two drinks for $22.00 not including tip. Next time I am in Philly and looking for some sushi I know where to go! read more

They lost my business! "SUGGESTED GRATUITY!" What a scam! Been there a few times & never disappointed until yesterday. The prices jumped, okay as expected but too much. I always placed a generous tip in jar upon leaving. After all, the guys behind the sushi bar did all the work! Okay, ready to settle up my bill at register. That hostess person persisted tapping "her" finger on the check after paying required tab. Insistence was the printed; "suggested gratuity" nonsense. A first encounter of such there. So, I'm to pay for the privilege of eating there?! After tipping the behind the bar guys?! Screw them! I told her the unnoticeable check bottom print was "SUGGESTED"! As in; "not mandatory", "not compliant" and my choice not to! The b*t^h was animate with her finger tapping the tab check beside the money owed. I place another $.50 on the money & walked out! It's a business! They should welcome & oblige any patronage! If "they" would display appropriately, conspicuously above the hostess station this so-called "SUGGESTED GRATUITY" charge; I wouldn't have patronized the place! And I'm sure "you" wouldn't either! read more

I had just finished a service call across the street from this place. The 50% off sushi banner intrigued me so I stopped in. The interior was clean and well decorated. I was seated right as I walked in and started to peruse the menu. They have a lot of sushi options and I picked (3) rolls. They were average and normally I would have given this place two stars but I added one for the lower prices. If I'm ever in the area and need a quick sushi fix I would stop by again but wouldn't come for dinner. read more

First time experienced. The waitress was very nice and friendly. The food was incredible!!! Me and my husband wanted to try a new sushi place, so we found this place. I ordered all my favorite dishes which was a lot of food....Salmon teriyaki bento box, Philadelphia roll, and chicken Lo Mein. I asked not for the soup because of bad experiences in other places but my husband got the soup. When he tried the soup he forced me to try...it was VERY GOOD (I should of ordered it)!!!!!! The rolls were the freshest I EVER HAD!!!! The Chicken Lo Mein was delicious, and when the boxes came out......they were HUGE PORTIONS!!!!! When the bill came.....that was the best part!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! read more

Visited this restaurant the other day because I was craving sushi and saw a giant 50% off sign plastered to the side of the wall. Checked the reviews on yelp and saw that it was a solid 4 stars, so decided to partake. The food itself was average and nothing spectacular. The service was also as expected and nothing out of the ordinary though I did appreciate the non-aggressive wait staff that was around when I needed it instead of popping up when I have a mouth full of food asking me if I need anything. Average restaurant with solid service but the price is cheap so four stars. Merry Xmas read more

Ahi Sushi - Godzilla roll - Japanese Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Saw this place when I stopped at the ACME that's right next to it and was drawn in by the 50% off sign. A good portion besides the sushi is 50% off. The classic roles, which the rolls we ordered are from, are pretty cheap. On sale they were all between 2.75 to around 4 dollars. Pretty good for sushi if you ask me! Brown rice was .50 cents extra which is pretty standard. The salmon and avocado used looked fresh and tasted pretty good. The shrimp was a little chewy but was pretty tasty as well. The soy sauce they had was less salty than I was expecting but that's not necessarily a negative (depends on one's preference). Service was good and the place was clean. A bonus being that the bathrooms were very nicely decorated. This place was not out of this world but a solid choice for sushi if you ask me, and at a very good price!!! Would definitely come again :) read more

Excellent sushi! I can order over $100 worth and it will be ready in a half hour!! They do not let their customers down.

Ordered the food for delivery and it did come very fast. However, I requested ginger and soy sauce none were given. One of us also has a selfish allergy and order a separate roll then me because of that and they ended up putting them all together we did not specify that but thought it was a little weird. Then tried to have us pay again after already paying online. We explained that we paid online and then continued to ask if we put a tip on the card or if we're going to give him a tip in cash. Then after we honestly weren't too sure waited after they handed us the food for money, and then stood there and slowly left because I guess they thought the tip we gave them was not good enough. read more
