This is my first time trying a Poke Bowl and I really liked it. You can choose a size between small and large, a base such as quinoa, brown rice or kale for no carb, a protein like salmon or tuna and then as many toppings as you like at no extra charge which is great. They have some nice choices like edamame beans, a variety of vegetables and sauces. The downside was that I found the food to be very bland and ended up using a lot of chilli sauce... The cafe is open late until 9pm, but is quite small inside and lacks toilet facilities so I'd say it's more popular for a take away. The service was good, the portions were filling and the prices were not too bad either.

Great poke spot in the heart of London. They have a handful of preselect bowls, but it's better to make your own bowl. How to order? 1. Chose your bowl size - Small or Large 2. Select a base (or two) - brown rice, kale, quinoa, udon 3. Chose a protein - ahi, salmon, hamachi, shrimp 4. Pick a dressing - shoyu sesame, spicy mayo, ponzu 5. Select your toppings, pretty much unlimited and free except for the avocado and peanuts. Definitely top it off with the crispy onions They also do deliveroo and ubereats, so you can order some for delivery.

It's dangerous and awesome that this is down the street from my office in London. I've had a lot of poke in California and also have had it in Hawaii and this is my favorite because it is healthier than most other places with the bases of quinoa, brown rice, and kale. They have two sizes - small and large, but the small pretty small that this would definitely not fill me up. You can pick a combination of bases (one, two, or three) which is always nice. I like the mixture of the kale and quinoa as it's healthy and filling - but you can't go wrong with any of them. For the protein, you get one scoop for a small, two scoops for the large - I do think the scoops are a bit on the small side for the price, but I was still full after my large poke bowl so it was fine. Compared to the amount of fish that I'm used to in California, this is smaller but everything portion-wise is usually smaller in Europe vs. the States. They have tuna, salmon, shrimp and mushrooms that you can pick from. I did one scoop of the tuna and one of the salmon and thought it was great. The sauces are the best part as they have a sesame shoyu, sweet ponzu, sriracha mayo, leche de tigre, and a chili sauce. My favorite is the leche de tigre - if you like ceviche or a little sour and sweet mixed together with a hit of coconut, this is an amazing sauce. I got this sauce twice and it was delicious mixed over the quinoa and kale and with the fish. They have pretty traditional toppings - edamame, fried onion, but the unique ones are the coconut sweet potato and kimchee cucumber. This place is expensive and the fish portions are small, but I was still full from the bases and the toppings. My go-to combo now is a large with a base of kale/quinoa, one scoop of tuna, one scoop of salmon, leche de tigre, edamame, coconut sweet potato, fried onion, and kimchee cucumber with avocado (+£1). I ate lunch here two times in one week and will definitely be back here frequently. The queue can get quite long during lunch rush hour, so don't come if you're in a big hurry as it takes a while to customize and mix everyone's orders. 5 stars for one of my new favorite poke bowl places - beats Tombo Poke by a huge longshot.

Wow, finally Poke places are now popping up all around London. Found this little gem while going to my beauty treatment. Apparently they open Monday 27/6 so brand new to the market. And everything looks clean and fresh and I got a Poke bowl to take out. They do a build your own bowl but only have two types of fish salmon and tuna.. While other places I've been to had a lot more choices. The server was lovely and explained the process to me and can give recommendation on popular items. So, tired my poke bowl and can't say I'm impressed, rice not really cooked properly ate loads of raw rice and as an Asian I know when rice isn't cooked properly. Also even with the sauce and extra soya (which I added) tuna taste really bland.. Which is a shame as I was expecting big things...

A few weeks back I went to try out Ahi poke´in Fitzrovia, this was exciting for me, as I have not tried Hawaiian food before and I was anxious to know what type of dishes that Ahi poke´serve. With Ahi poke´you can choose their signature bowls, Sweet green, Heat wave, Oahu and Side chick or why not build your own poke´ bowl. 1. First, you choose the base, either brown rice, quinoa, kale, or udon noodles, I always go for udon noodles when eating out, so I decided to do something different, so I chose brown rice. 2. My bowl needed protein, and as I chose a large poke´ bowl, I could choose two protein choices, so of course, I went with my favourite choices; salmon and tuna. 3. To give my bowl and added taste, I mixed the sauces sweet ponzu and sesame shoyu. 4. Lastly, was the topping, for my bowl Edamame, sweet potato, kimchee cucumber, burnt corn and an extra topping of avocado, my bowl was completed and all for £9.95. When picking the bowl, I realised that the bowl was actually quite large but jam-packed with goodness, my choice to go with the brown rice was a great choice, as the brown rice sat nicely with the Tuna and Salmon. The burnt corn gave the bowl an unusual flavour tangy flavour. With the sesame shoyu tieing in a nutty flavour to the bowl. My bowl tasted so good and it made me feel better knowing that all the ingredients used in my poke´ bowl had positive benefits. Brown rice aids in cleaning the digestive system and is high in magnesium. Corn is an antioxidant, which protects the body, from diseases and is packed with lutein and zeaxanthin, which are two phytochemicals that promote healthy vision. Whilst salmon is known to be rich in Omega 3 and fatty acids, it is high in B vitamins and is a great source of protein. It is so cool, that you can mix and match when creating your own poke´ bowl, as the different tastes are endless. For dessert, to cleanse my palette I chose their pineapple chunks in Earl grey sprinkled with coconut shavings. This was a perfect way to end my meal. Left to sit in the Earl Grey residue, the pineapple chunks are both sweet and refreshing. What I love about this place, is the fast pace and the different consumers that come and go out of Ahi Poke´. From the university students, the locals and the office workers, all looking to pick up a healthy bowl of goodness! I also noticed that Ahi poke´ also sells through Ubereats and the orders seemed to be pouring in! So if you live locally, why not pick up a bowl? Price: £

Sometimes you stumble upon places based on sheer starvation and not wanting to take another step. That was me today. Given all of the places I have bookmarked on Yelp I normally wouldn't just wander into the unknown but when you've been shopping and sight seeing until your feet can't go anymore, you'll end up like me just choosing the first place that looks good. This burger joint was inviting, was able to be seated right away, and staff were quick. The pros about this place are that staff are very friendly and on top of service. Was nice to dine quickly despite how busy this area can get during tourist season. As far as the restaurants theme it was a little funny the Hawaiian vibe and name. I didn't really see it aside from the decor, putting pineapple on a burger doesn't make a restaurant Hawaiian but I'll give them points for being creative with a theme that you normally wouldn't see in the UK. Once I got over the menu being more traditional fare and less "Hawaiian" it was easy to go with the traditional cheeseburger. The burger was slightly above average in terms of flavor (patty needed more seasoning) BUT I was impressed with the grilled onions and how fresh the lettuce and tomato looked. Plus I'm a sucker for Mayo and they put Mayo as a primary ingredient so I was happy. I'd say service and pricing were 5 stars and food a solid 3.5 If you want a easy and casual meal that won't break the bank this spot totally works.

Baby back ribs: not necessarily fall of the bone type of ribs, but if you give it a good tug , some of the meats will slide off its axis. I enjoyed it for what it's worth. Obviously, the smoker is limited in scope , so I'm not expecting Texas style quality. Was a little chewy in some places, but also tender in others. Had a preference for the chiptole bbq sauce rather than the hickory. Fries were mostly good (minus the tiny bits). So close to the meats, the fries absorbed some of the smokiness flavor. Slaw: low-point of the bbq. They used way, way, too much dressing. Like it was flooded. Also the cabbage wasn't cut finely, but presented as whole chunk slices. Would definitely not recommend this one. Overall minus the slaw, I enjoyed Bodean's
