Marla has a special way of not making you feel judged as you share your reason to be there. I have also found through experience that if you cannot truly be completely honest with your counselor no amount of counseling will help. With Marla I can be honest which can be hard when you have to share yourself not in the best light sometimes. I feel safe in opening up with Marla and know that she absolutely has my best interests at heart. You leave her office feeling cared for but also feeling accomplished that you are working on yourself & knocking out your problems. I have made great strides by having the help of Marla in my life. I feel very grateful to have found a counselor that comes across as a caring, empathetic & is also a very strong woman that is also gifted with a quick wit. Also, if he missed 2 months of appointments from June/July, why are they just now sending a notice?!?! If they cared, they would have attempted to reach out to his emergency contact. On top of this, they were charging monthly late fees. As a mental health care provider, you would think they would have the skillset to better handle a situation like this. I would never recommend a place of business this poorly managed and with providers who care this little about their clients/patients. Do better EPA, your patients deserve it. This due to billing, the outsourcing of the call center, and not being able to speak to someone in the office. Talking to an actual billing person is near impossible. Every time I am in the office there is always a new charge for something. I have also found in my EOB's that there are charges that aren't even covered with my insurance or the services have been entered incorrectly. Unfortunately, I will have to leave because of this issue. My medical is expensive enough, I don't need the headache of trying to figure out their mess every time I have an appointment.

This is not typical in my experience with healthcare, but maybe this is typical for the way mental health providers offer services? Subpar scheduling services? Sadly, I have to say these gatekeepers weren't the worst I experienced in Evansville while searching for therapists in the city. I hope the practice reads these reviews and really considers altering their initial contact procedure in order to be more patient centered.
