Resource Central - Raised garden bed

TL/DR: you're better off at big box stores or Marketplace/Craigslist. It literally hurts me to…read morewrite this review. This review is for the material reuse sales part of the business. It used to be a reliable place to get any type of building supplies at decent used quality for a "this has definitely been used" price. Now it's wildly overpriced. This review is almost more for me to remember to stop driving down to Boulder to try shopping here. Example: selling the 15gal barrels they receive their deicing salt in for winter - for $15. Barrels seem to be priced at $1/gal now, even when they're deformed or broken. So expect to pay $5 for a 5-gal bucket, $35 for a 35gal can and $50 for a 55gal. Saw $45 for a utility sink made of the same cheap plastic as Walmart Adirondack chairs - not the older, indestructible molded utility sink type. Bent and broken rakes and shovels for $5-20. It's just wild. Pieces of pallets are priced as though they're new stock lumber, and they don't even list the lumber prices anymore (were they to have any, which they didn't)... with the way everything else is priced, there's no way I'll even bother checking. At this point it's cheaper and more reliable to buy new from Home Depot which is beside the point of this place and it sucks!! The quality of used goods did not improve in the past 2 years, so why the price tripled is beyond me, but it's not worth it. Bye, Resource Central. I really loved you while you were affordable. Thankfully Habitat ReStore still has their head on straight.

Two years ago I purchased a glass shower installation group from B&G - door, fixed glass panel,…read moreoverhead barn door rail with rollers, and all the hardware. I'm a DIY homeowner and had landed on B&G's product after months of planning and shopping. I also purchased a granite counter slab with sink installed from B&G - let them cut the slab and install the hanging sink. Everything was done well, cut to the exact dimensions I ordered. I did the precision measure myself and gave them a printed and digital file of exact shape I wanted - akin to laser measurement. They were very clear on what they would warranty and what they wouldn't. I took a lot of risk because I picked up all products at their facility and took possession there. I lifted (with help of my sturdy teenage son) all this upstairs and installed myself - built-up pan with a liner, tile, counter top - the whole bit. B&G reps were very helpful the whole time up to payment and taking possession. They even recommended ways for me to take possession that would limit my liability if the counter top cracked. Basically they loaded into my truck for me. This did two things. First, it saved my back. Secondly, if the granite slab was prone to breaking due to a natural weakness or something then the load would be a great time to check, and they would have provided a new slab had that happened. All the products were high quality and as advertised. The communication couldn't have been better. Regarding the reviewer named Yancey - I understand the frustration at having to wait for parts, and maybe given the money you spent you wanted more communication. What is also obvious in your review is that your contractor owns most of the issues there. If your glass is coming detached from the shower, that sounds like an install issue and not a product issue. I suspect the glass was installed incorrectly such that the glass/shower connection was subject to a separating force, or there was some other problem with the install design. That kind of stuff is all on the shower design and installation. I'm guessing your contractor was you, your brother in law or some other DIY type. Any qualified contractor with industry standard skill level would not be relying on the product seller to instruct them on installation method,

I have wasted months of my life with this company. They gave me an estimate in February that was in…read morethe ballpark of other estimates I received. Since it was the lowest price and they had no bad reviews, I decided to choose them. I was later told that they would not honor the estimate they gave me because the contractor they sent out bid too low. They gave me a new higher estimate. When I went in to select the flooring colors I wanted, they told me, for the price they bid me, I had one choice for click vinyl and 10-15 not very attractive choices for carpet. Mind you, they have a beautiful store room with all sorts of options, but I was not allowed to choose any of those without my estimate going dramatically higher. When I called a couple times asking about the floor prep required, they wouldn't answer my question and instead they would send me a new estimate, saying 'that's the best they could do'. I wasn't trying to negotiate prices, I was trying to understand what prep was needed. I finally decided on which carpet and vinyl I wanted. Then I compared all of the estimates they gave me and realized that the labor and types of floor prep varied considerably between estimates. I went in to discuss the variances and they came back with an even higher estimate from Suzanne. It was $1000 over the original estimate. She didn't even come downstairs from her office. She had her employee give it to me saying that this was the final estimate. She basically wanted to get rid of me. I walked out. I have never been treated so poorly.
