I love Colombian food and this place hits the spot for me. The name changed recently but has the same owner. My guess is the old name wasn't bringing the people in? It was called Rancho Mateo. They refer to themselves as a steakhouse, and they do have steak on the menu, but it seems more fitting to call it a family restaurant. The place is very spacious and clean. It has been recently remodeled to add more seating. They have a variety of seating options, from standard tables, booths, high top chairs and bar seating. There is also a full bar that can serve customers inside and out, through a window to the outside patio. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entering and put our order in for drinks and appetizers. I ordered the empanadas, 1 beef and 1 chicken. They serve them with different sauces. I wish they would provide extra sauces from the start because we had to request refills a couple of times. The sauce containers are very small so its easy to go through them. The server was friendly and attentive so we were able to get what we needed fairly quickly. Halfway through our service, our waitresses changed but we weren't sure why. They were both great but it was a little confusing. The empanadas were hot, crispy and had a good amount of filling inside. My friend ordered the chorizo and potatoes and enjoyed it. For entree, I ordered the chicken and garlic sauce with salad and fried yuca sticks. I liked the garlic sauce but needed a bit more flavor so I added aji and chimmichurri sauces. The chicken was a bit dry but that was likely due to it being so thin. The sauces helped with that. My friend ordered their signature burger. It was massive and had so many flavors and textures on it: grilled onions, a ham slice, melted cheese, green tomatoes, lettuce, crushed chips and pineapple. The melted cheese is poured on top at the table which was a nice touch. I only wish we had gotten a video of it. One reason my friend ordered the burger was for the crushed chips and pineapple. I'm not sure I saw crushed chips on there and we later found out that it doesn't come with a liked pineapple like we thought. It is apparently a pineapple sauce. If ordered again, we will be sure to get the sauce on the side to hopefully get more of the pineapple taste we were looking for. There were some definite improvements to the place since we were here last time under the old name. The extra seating and new menus were great additions. The consolidated menu was a lot easier to read. I would suggest they add the hours for the breakfast section though. They weren't playing a live band or dj when we went but they look like they are set up for it. Check them out for a great meal and for the atmosphere. read more

We had the picata for two. It could fed four of us. Ha a couple of empanadas, too. Everything was great. Service was excellent. Food came out very quickly. It's a casual atmosphere. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices except for the drinks which were $14 each...but well made. read more

Latin sports bar with Great atmosphere and music. The servers were very polite and took extra care and frequently checked on me. I went in late for a quick bite and only ordered appetizers. The empanadas were dimmed with beef and had a nice crust and crunch to the outside. Definitely will order again. The chicharron were very tasty and not overly fatty. The skin had a good crunch. Some did have too hard a crunch but there were very few of those. The drink was excellent. Would have preferred a larger size with less ice but it was tasty. Music was fun and they should have a dance floor!! Someone was celebrating their birthday and the entire staff and restaurant participated in singing! Made me decide to do my next birthday here! I'll definitely be back. read more

Awesome Service by Manuela and also what seems to be the Manager. The Bandeja Paisa was delicious, big, and plenty. The Ceviche is also delicious as well as the Natural lemonades. However, prices are high ($6 for a lemonade and $23 for a Ceviche) during lunchtime. Total $85 with the tip for a normal lunch without any appetizer, nor dessert nor alcohol! read more

I wanted to try this place as soon as I got to my hotel and saw that it was only 0.5 mile away. So glad I had the chance the last day I was in Orlando. I was seated outside and the weather was beautiful. It was pretty chilly inside and the music was a little too loud for my liking. My server was so nice and so attentive. She recommended the traditional Colombian dish, Bandeja Paisa but with skirt steak. It came with so much meat and it was beautiful. Everything was delicious. The steak kinda freaked me out because it had a vein that was tough to cut through and it just turned me off from eating it. I got it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly; it was just the cut that I wasn't a fan of. I tried to cut around the vein but ended up giving up. The pork belly was so crispy. The beans melted in my mouth and the rice and fried egg were so good. I wish I had more plantains but that's okay. I also ordered mango juice and that was so fresh. I got the esponjado passion fruit for dessert to go. It was such a lovely lunch date with myself. read more

First, the ambiance was awesome. They had some live music, and the person singing went around and got people singing. The service was pretty quick and the server was always ready to help. The food was really good, the taste and the flavor are just awesome. This is some really good Colombian Cuisine. Definitely recommend it! read more

Excelente lugar. El ambiente, y la comida es deliciosa, buen servicio, y la ambientación típica colombiana.

The food was really good, there's no doubt about that, but service was another thing. I went on a Monday at 11:30am. Barely any customers. had To wait for about 3-5 for someone to sit us down. Once on our seat had to wait for our waitress who ended up being the "manager" (this was on our receipt) who saw us when we came in and did not acknowledged us, and after we sat down, she did not move after 5 minutes. After finally coming to our table I asked for a glass of water due to waiting for someone, the person with me asked for a piña colada. This literally took 10 minutes (she was making the drinks herself, they did not have a bartender). The third person showed up and we were able to get our drinks. Another 10-15 minutes. Once we had our drinks we ordered. Food came in at a decent time. We could not ask for more drinks because the waitress would take another 10-15 minutes. Finally the check came in. For a party of 3, she included the gratuity of 18% and on top of that they charged us extra because we used a credit card. If we would've paired cashed it would've been less. Like mention the food was good but the service was bad. read more

If you love Colombian food or if you are looking for something new, definitely go here! Our server Erika did an amazing job of taking care of us and making recommendation's. We will definitely be back anytime we are in town!!! Poor service. They brought out the appetizers with my meal so imagine the wait for that. I asked for water twice and nothing. Coffee takes 15 minutes to bring out. It got 2 stars from me cause the bistec i ordered had good flavoring. If it weren't for that I would have giving this place a negative 1 star. The ambiance was nice. If only it matched the service. Oh, and I ordered coffee with no milk and the bright me two coffees with milk. Can't make this up. And I'm sitting at the restaurant as I write this review. read more

This places nice and clean! Good service the sangria it was good! The consomé of costilla a big disappointment! Water w cilantro and couple of pieces of Meat and potatoes! I ordered the fried plantain w skirt steak! No flavor at all! The plantains were not fresh ! The frozen ones! The bandeja paisa it was ok but not the best I ever have! They need to make Colombia look better cause they have great food in their culture! read more

Service was absolutly terrible. Auto gratuity of 18% made me absolutly livid. A table of 15 sat AFTER my table of 5 and was served before and were able to get their checks and were able to leave before we did even though I asked Carlos for the checks earlier than them. This was my second time coming but will be my last that was unacceptable. Drinks came slow, service was slow and at the end of the day they got 18% gratuity for nothing in my opinion read more

Oh my we stumbled upon this place. We speak zero Spanish which we thought could be an issue but it was not. Every bit of our experience was amazing! The place itself was very clean and cute. We went between lunch and dinner and we were seated quickly. We ordered the corn cake with cheese and the avocado stuffed with shrimp for appetizers. They were so good! And I do not even like corn meal! I had the red sangria and my husband had a Long Island ice tea. He was worried about the drink when the bartender was reading the a recipe card - but he enjoyed it. I ordered the steak salad and he had one of the combo platters. Even despite the language barrier the service was great. We really enjoyed our experience and so glad we Tried something new. Highly recommend it! read more

Kelly was our server and she was so awesome. Food was fantastic. Very generous portions, flavor is on point and the music was great. Insanely delicious food options, drinks and ambiance are what you'll find at @aguardienterestaurante Their menu options are an homage to Colombian cuisine with everything ranging from their classic empanadas to bountiful picanhas (what we ordered!), and don't even get us started on their cocktail menu. 4 stars were given for service because although initially our server was very attentive, he eventually left to attend a large party and left us hanging for a good 25-30 to close out our bill. We ended needing to have him located by another server to have him come back to finish our service. Something that the establishment management might want to monitor more closely in the future. Overall, amazing ambiance, food and entertainment. * They are located in : 11048 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32821 read more

Food, ambience was amazing! Service was very nice too. Waitress was super friendly and detailed oriented

I like Columbian food so I decided to try this place. Well Walking in, no one speaks to you. The servers just walk past you without asking do you need help or anything. I was able to stop someone and ask if there was a wait and she said it's an 1hr and a half wait. So of course I decided to wait because I'm curious on the taste of this food. At first glance I thought maybe it's full because of the food, but after continuing looking around no one was eating. People were just taking up tables watching the game lodging in the seats. What type of restaurant allows this? I can understand if you're eating and watching the game but just to be taking up seats just to watch a game and not ordering anything boggles me. Well I waited and decided to order a drink while I wait. This kola I ordered has a very bad after taste. Very very loud inside. Finally got a table after an hour and the waiter was nice. Even though it was super loud with the music, it was very nice to listen too. But conversation at the table could not happen because of the live DJ music so we just danced in our seats until the food came out. I ordered a strawberry daiquiri non alcoholic and it was tasteful with a slight fruit after taste but no bad. Chicken is dry. The shrimp had a fishy taste and no seasoning. The French fries were good. The plantains were very good. Need some sauce to top over the chicken if it is served dry and tasteless. Not my favorite. read more

I'm a Colombian and this was not proper Colombian food. The empanadas were not fresh so they weren't crispy, the arepa de choclo con queso was too sweet and dry, and my friends who ordered the pollo a la plancha, bistec a caballo & a bandeja paisa were also disappointed. It lacked in flavor and finesse. Was disappointed. read more

Colombian food is definitely one of our go to's, especially with the Colombian other half in the family. We were originally looking for some sancocho or Ajiaco which are Colombian stews/soups. They did not have it here, but we figured we would try their steaks since that's in their name. We ordered the picada for two. We have had this many times at different Colombian Restaurants. Here they cut everything up in pieces, and stack it up to look extra mountainous like the mountains in Colombia. This looks pretty eye catching, yes, but with cutting it up, it loses it's hot temperatures. When we received the food it was luke warm, and soon became cold. This picada which includes chicken, steak, sausage, morcilla, tostones, fried bananas, and white arepa are smoked and have no other flavor, but a smoked flavor. This flavor is not appetizing for either of us. We ate some none the less and have the rest for leftovers. We all know that Latinos love their music and that's why we came here as well. The music was not good and the singer was muffled like his mouth was too close to the microphone as if he was eating the microphone. It wasn't pleasing and entertaining. This place ended up full inside and out with groups of family and friends and everyone enjoyed their company. I don't think they could hear their own conversations because it was too loud. Their drinks looked good and eye worthy, but I didn't have one. I don't live close and I know for sure we wouldn't be back. Lastly, our service was okay. They spoke all Spanish which I was perfectly fine with, but just to let u know in case u don't speak any Spanish, you can always point. read more

Had the best experience here at Aguardiente Colombian Steakhouse! Our server Kevin was helpful with his service and recommendations. The ambiance was fun and enjoyable. The food was delicious! We ordered their empanadas and a Picada for four ($70), that honestly can be served for 6! read more

This place used to be called Rancho Mateo and now is call Aguardiente Colombian Steak House..... don't know the reason why is changed, is has the same concept as before, small changes are visible such the menu now is condensed, before the menu was very large and honestly I rather this one, it's easy and has everything you need from the authentic Colombian cuisine. The other change is the look inside the restaurant, it used to have a spade in the middle where they had a band show on the weekend, now that spaced is filled with more tables and. The food is very tasty and the staff are always very friendly and fast. I recommend this place. read more

This place was right across the street from my hotel and I didn't want to take Uber so the short five minute walk was perfect. It was Sunday night and plenty of table seating but I sat at the bar with the friendly locals. The bartender did not speak English but we were able to communicate with the help of the other patrons. Everyone was very nice and the restaurant got busy as the evening went on. They did not have music that night but I bet it could be loud as other yelpers had mentioned. The owner was very kind and checked on us a lot and made sure we were happy with everything. The drinks were good and the food was too. I was craving salmon and it was well prepared. We tried the highly recommended seafood sauce and it did not disappoint. I would not exactly call this a steakhouse, but authentic tasty food, a relaxed atmosphere and a fun indoor/outdoor bar. Definitely check this place out, I really enjoyed it! read more

Last night I took my kids to go watch the game and eat some food at this place but wow was it awful , first our server Julian seem lost like he didn't even know where he was at,didn't know anything didn't care to make us aware of the "special menu" they had because of the colombian game that was playing. Then he over charge us even tho he forgot half of our order , then I was told I couldn't order any regular menu because of the game then before we were leaving I see tables getting serve regular menu.i called the manager her response was I gave them the okay because I decided who can get it and who can't plus they weren't here to watch the game I was like wow okay. The food we order was a platter for 4 which apparently for game menu was $80 dollars and it was cold and the it seem like it was seating out for days, also order a bandeja 1 because apperantly we weren't aloud to order anything else and 4 buckets of beer and all this came up to $467 dollars. I just want to make this very clear it isnt about the money is about how we were treated and how the food was so disgusting and the manager didn't even care to knowledge how upset we were also she try to offer us some dessert before we left which by the time I was already more upset and overwhelmed, but yea we won't be returning here again and also we won't recommend this place either, how expensive it is the food isn't good and definitely the services are horrible.. read more
