We had Paramount Remodeling Company do a full remodel on our kitchen, dining room, and living room. Issues that we had throughout the project: - They ordered the wrong kitchen cabinets, including a) not ordering enough length to allow us to put 2 barstools across one edge of the counter as we'd planned, and b) not ordering a lazy susan cupboard for the blind corner cabinet. They did not apologize, give a refund, or offer to purchase an after-market lazy susan-type pullout. Now I have to physically climb into the cabinet any time I need to get something out of the back of the cabinet. - They left large gouges and scratches all over the kitchen cabinets. - They ordered our white backsplash tiles from two die lots, and intermingled the two. They wanted to charge us extra to redo the backsplash all from a single die lot. While they ultimately didn't charge us for the labor, we did have to pay for a second batch of tile all in the same die lot. - They painted all of the walls without wiping them down, and after putting the wrong texture on them. There was hair, pine needles, rocks, wall mounts, nails, staples, and all sorts of things painted into the wall. We had to pay extra to get them to do another pass. - They did a terrible masking tape job on all of the places where the walls meet the floor boards, ceilings, etc. They had to do a second pass, and even still the lines are not neat. - It took them two weeks to finish the "touchups". Most days during that time they only showed up for about two hours in the afternoon, if they bothered to show up at all. The project ended up taking about 6 weeks longer to finish than it was supposed to, which is not including the two month stop-work order that the city put on our project due to issues with the bathroom remodel done by a different company that was not Paramount's fault. I've owned two other houses where I've done largescale remodels. This was by far the worst, which is saying something since on one of those other projects the project manager ended up having to stop working on the project and literally almost died because he had a lung collapse and kidney or liver failure.

No idea what the other part of that amount was for, they said it was 'Engineering costs' but won't/can't show us any engineering work/plans. They've decided to keep our $6,000 deposit AND charge for the $1100.00 because we told them we aren't happy with their lack of progress, refusal to give us any estimates for costs, and extremely poor designs, (so bad that we asked them to use another design from a different contractor) constant miscommunication, and inability/refusal to answer our questions. It's been two months, and when we asked for a cost breakdown so we can decide how to phase our project, we get a lecture from the so-called designer about " We don't know how many nails we will be using exactly, or if one of our subcontractors messes up. Just tell us what you don't want to do, and we'll just take it out." We asked if she was able to 'take that out' wouldn't that mean she knows the costs, and could provide us an estimate? The answer was no. We've never heard of a contractor refusing to give an estimate to a client. This was when I told Alyssa that we will not be able to continue working with them. They refused to give us our deposit back, so today, to try and create a 'win-win,' I asked Alyssa if they would do our patio demolition, and we could call that $6,000 deposit of ours even. (another estimate for this demolition came in at $4,700.00) We would have been willing to eat the difference. I got a long, bogus, 'beat around the bush' non-explanation, which is par for her communication style, and the answer was no, they don't do demolition(!!) and only worked with clients for at least a $50,000 project. I would recommend using a different builder. If I could…read moregive 0/5 stars, I would. We worked with GJ Gardner Denver, specifically Dave P and Jeff V for about 10 mos. We paid them $14,000 as a deposit, but they never delivered on what turned out to be empty promises. I expect that a reputable builder would refund the deposit if they could not successfully submit plans for permit, but not GJ. The plans we paid them to develop were rejected by the city multiple times over the course of several months. The personnel at the city office said they were truly surprised by the incompetence of this group. In addition, we would go several weeks at a time with phone calls not returned- maybe we shouldn't have been surprised, knowing that Dave P works much of the time from his house in Mexico. Our build was going to cost about $700k not including the land, but they treated us as though we were their very lowest priority (who knows, we probably were). In short- I wish we had used a different builder. We found their promises to be empty, and after 10 months of dealing with them, we had to fire them. Unfortunately that's a lot of wasted time and money. I would highly recommend you consider looking elsewhere and be very leery of anything they say. They seem like nice people, but I doubt they cared at all about us, our family, or building our home.

Brad's a shady person, and the longer you talk to him the more you'll pick up on that. I promise you that he's just giving more lies on top of lies with his "response". He told me verbally in person when he was at my house a completely different price than he is now saying. He's a straight up liar. There is no misunderstanding, there is no miscommunication, he 100% told me $1500 for the wall repairs. Period. I vividly and specifically remember this. Here's some more details (because I HATE liars): Originally, I ONLY had Brad come by to give an estimate on repairing the wall damages. That is it. He said $1500 for the walls to be repaired. Then, I told him there might be mold in the basement and he immediately went into salesman mode. Saying how they have this new technology for mold removal and how he prides himself on having the lowest cost for mold removal and blah blah blah. He went on to say that most places charge thousands of dollars for that work, but he only charges $1000, and he would give me a discount on it at $750 for the mold removal. So we agreed and even shook hands on it (as he was just about to leave) that the total would be $2250 for the mold removal and wall repairs, and he said they could get it all done in a day or 2. This is important to remember because in the end he refused to do even just that work. Then, b4 he left, I was feeling good based on how he was talking to me and the price he gave me so I thought to have him look at some other work we need done. I showed him 4 interior doors that we want replaced with solid core doors, and some kitchen drawers/cabinets that need repairs. He looked and said that doors are $150 for labor plus the cost of parts (that was the only consistent part in the formal estimate). He didn't give an exact price for the kitchen repairs, but he did specifically state that he could get ALL of the work done (walls, mold, doors, kitchen) and keep the cost under $4000. Then I waited for him to send me the formal estimate, which listed walls at $3000. Just to show you another example of a red flag discrepancy in his pricing, the cost for mold removal was only $300 in the formal estimate. If you recall, I mentioned earlier that when he was at the house he said it's normally $1000 but he would be so generous to give me a discount at $750 for the mold removal. If his pricing had ANY kind of consistency he would have either: A. Told me while he was at the home that the price for mold would be $300, or B. Listed the cost of mold removal in the formal estimate at $750. To this day he still hasn't explained that single price discrepancy alone, let alone the others. However, clearly, Brad is NOT a man of his word, and anything that he tells you verbally means absolutely nothing, and he will just change the price on you all Willy nilly as he sees fit. And that's why I wasn't able to hire him, because I caught him trying to scam me and pull the ol' switcheroo on me. So he gives this new price of $3550 for ONLY the walls and doors. With him promising the walls for $1500, just do the math thats over $2,000 just for the doors. So with $600 for labor, that means parts would be $1450. This still just seemed like way too much for the doors seeing as anyone can get them for $200/door...so I asked if he could do the walls and doors for $2100 ($1500/walls + 4x$150/doors) as long as I provided the materials. So that is exactly when he said he wasn't interested in my project anymore. It wasn't "no I stick by my pricing and here's why..." it was "I'm no longer interested". I mean, how much more obvious does it need to be that this jerk was trying to scam me and was just mad that I wasn't falling for his BS. I was NOT out of line in any way for asking him to do the walls and doors for $2100 if I provided the parts (based on his pricing in his formal estimate). Remember, he originally came by to quote ONLY the wall repairs......he had absolutely NO reason to withdraw his interest in my job. He tried weasel his way around it to make it seem like he was honoring the original price when he really wasn't, and the way he did that was SO dishonest. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS LIAR. The fact he's trying to defend his actions just adds to his level of dishonesty. If it came down to it I would even testify in a court of law that what I am saying is really what happened. I'm not the kind of person to just make something like this up. You can check all of my other reviews, they are all 100% legit. He's got some nerve to just dismiss what I'm saying as if it's just how I "feel". No. This isn't simply "how I feel", what I'm saying is literally what happened.  No joke, no exaggeration, no misunderstanding, no BS (other than Brad's). Do not trust these guys…read more... Upon multiple consultations with them, they clearly are extremely dishonest and have no integrity. To top it all off, their drivers like to brake check you when driving! I unfortunately got stuck behind one if their drivers pulling a trailer around 1 PM in Boulder on Canyon going through the shopping areas. They brake checked me because the dude driving pulled out in front of me at a 4 way stop. These guys are slimey, scummy, and dishonest.
