I've never been there for anything other than my worker's comp case so I no longer know who works there since the various name changes. Dr. Anis whom I call Dr. Anus for various reasons was a horrible doctor. Dr. Peña is a straight up a-hole! That guy has been passed around to all the Soledad clinics. I refuse to ever see him again! I made a complaint against him on how he treated me and made me feel and nothing was ever done. I never even got an apology from Dr. Slater at the time when he was head at Mission HealthcareCenter, nor did he respond back to me. I told him in person and in writing and I was just dismissed. I was glad when Dr. Slater retired, but was hoping all the others would be gone too! I pray they have better doctors now in 2024.

After waiting over two hours, I went back inside to check on the status and was told they had called the listed number multiple times and left a voicemail. I repeatedly explained that no calls or voicemails were received on my daughter's phone, but the front desk staff continued to argue with me and insisted they had contacted us. To make sure my daughter could be seen elsewhere, I called a primary care physician to schedule an appointment, even though my daughter had never been seen by that office before. They were able to pull up her chart that had recently been created by Doctors on Duty. When they read back the phone number on file, I discovered that the front desk staff had entered an incorrect phone number. I then called the number that had been incorrectly entered, and the line was not even a working number. This confirmed that no voicemail could have been left. Despite this, the front desk staff continued to insist that they had called and left voicemails, which was extremely frustrating and dishonest. After going to the back to speak to the manager, the staff member returned and told me the only option was to wait an additional two hours keep in mind we've already waited two hours and my daughter was actively throwing up in the car. I understand that walk-ins involve long waits, but the lack of accountability, communication, and compassion from the front desk staff made this experience unacceptable. This situation could have been handled far more professionally and with basic empathy. In my opinion the lack of professionalism and poor communication from the front desk staff suggests a need for retraining or better coaching on patient interactions.

I came here in the morning because I was sick and I was having symptoms that any sick person would have when they're sick and due to the fact that I had diarrhea and fainting as some of my symptoms, they turned me away told me it would be better for me to go to the emergency room rather than see me. One time I hit my head and I just needed to see somebody about a concussion and they couldn't even do that. Why are you an urgent care if you don't help the people that don't have the money to go to the emergency room and don't have the time to wait to see their primary care doctor.

Soon after our arrival in town my boyfriend was having excruciating jaw pain. It must've been bad for him to want to see a doctor so I Yelped an urgent care. This place was open, close by and most important had good reviews. It was closing in 30 minutes tho, but if we didn't go, bf would be miserable all weekend to see these races. We walked in, place was empty lucky for us, no appointment. Couple of waivers filled out, insurance given and Doctor took us in. Dr. Gilliam is by far the kind of doctor I wish I had as my PCP. He's funny, caring, gentle and educational. After asking my bf some questions and a little exam, it was concluded he had a little infection that needed antibiotics. Dr. Gilliam took care of ALL of it, sent the scripts to Safeway right next door (we needed to get snacks anyway) filled out the claim and sent it to insurance. I mentioned I was a medical coder. He does all of his own coding using software. But if Dr. Gilliam ever wants to hire a certified outpatient coder/biller with Urgent Care experience, we could always use an excuse to relocate to Monterey (hint hint) We were treated like humans, even laughed a little bit at some funny stories. Warm, kind Doctor. I hope we'd never have to be patients again but if we're in Monterey and need an Urgent Care, we're going here. He's the way all Doctors should be.

Dr. Nanra over saw my care while I was there and said if anything comes up come and see us. I decided to take him up on his offer today when I woke up to some questionable symptoms. They had me in and out within an hour (unheard of for urgent care as busy as them, especially with them also being a primary care clinic.) the clinic is clean, the staff is friendly and they are very on top of it. The doctor listened to my history and what led up to today and took all of that into consideration with his treatment options. I will definitely be returning here for my urgent care needs. I'm happy that I have the option to go here if anything urgent arises and know that they care about their patients. Thank you golden state!!!
