I made an apt to Agewell on the recommendation of a colleague. I was not impressed. Kathy, the receptionist/office manager, is very unorganized. She could not find my paperwork from the scale they have you do, and she and Dr. Engsberg were back and forth over paperwork, and she had to go and print it out two separate times. It is odd for a medical practice to not be prepared for new patients. Kathy is also a very pushy sales person, just throws numbers at you telling you this is what you owe now, or this is what you can pay if you want to pay for it all up front, and that is where she lost me. I hadn't even decided if I wanted to do the pellets yet, I went in merely for a consultation, and at the end of the consult with the Doctor, I am being told by Kathy everything I need. The Doctor also stuck her head in and told Kathy to add another treatment, increasing the cost even more. They wanted me to spend well over $1500 for vitamins, one session of pellets, and some treatment plant for weight management. In addition, they wanted me to pay almost $300 for labs as they are not covered by insurance through them. Dr. Engsberg does not have a bedside manner at all. She doesn't let you talk, every time I opened my mouth she would talk over me, most of the time she is very condescending and acts like you're annoying her. Sure, you get a "free" consultation with her, but I felt like a small child being chastised and afraid to ask a question from fear of sounding stupid and being ridiculed by her answer. That is not how I expect to be treated by a doctor when they are wanting me to spend $1500 with them. I chose not to go with them, and actually had a consultation with another Doctor in Thornton and what a difference. The cost is 1/4 of what they charge and the doctor actually listened to me and didn't treat me like an idiot. My questions are valid, and I don't feel like I should be treated like they are dumb questions. I know nothing about these pellets and putting something inside my body shouldn't be taken lightly. The way both the front office and Dr. Engsberg treat people lost them a client, potentially 2 as my colleague who recommended them has a consult with the new doctor I found. Dr. Engsberg should take a class on communication. She has a whole wall of degrees and certificates that she makes you walk by on the way to her office, though human decency wasn't one of them. read more

I have tried testosterone patches, gels and injections under the supervision of my primary care physician. I met Dr. Engsberg and Kathy about two years ago in Santa Fe. This was right about the time I think my hormones really began to tank. I was seeing a CNP and having my annuals done including blood tests to check hormone levels as I was in my mid-40's. My CNP prescribed some hormone creams without doing a blood test when I complained about night sweats. My journey started last July 2021! I had hit a wall on my weight and was totally exhausted by the end of each day. I came to Dr. Engsberg earlier last year and could not be happier with the results. Like many women in our fifties, I was suffering from chronic fatigue and some depression.
