( I did a review of Dr. Buonassisi ethics separately ) Upon entering the office I was greeted by smiles from the gorgeous ladies at the reception desk. One of them checked my schedule on her computer. Then I was asked to sit at the lounge area. I then heard her make a call to inform that I have arrived. A few minutes later, someone came to get me. Her name is Katie. She led me to a room where she took pictures of my profile from several angles. Katie was very clear in her instructions which made the process smooth and quick. After taking my pictures she led me back to the lounge area where I waited for 2 minutes before I finally meet Dr. Buonassisi for my consult. After my consult, Katie came and talked to me about the solution given by Dr. Buonassisi so I can schedule for another consult. I thought that both the doctor and staff know what they're doing and they do communicate with each other. I appreciate their honesty. They will tell you if a procedure is right for you or not. This made me feel that they sincerely care and not just after my money. Will I recommend 8 West to friends and family? Definitely!

I asked the receptionist if their website is working and she told me it's better to call...Then, what's the point of having an online inquiry system? SUCH A WASTE OF TIME. The $60 consultation was very short, about 5 min and the doctor left in a hurry. However, you can use this fee towards your treatment if you decide to go for it, unlike many other places that charge a separate fee. My appointment was at 11:30am and I was 5 min early, but I waited for 40 min before the laser treatment. It's very unfair to punish those who are on time by helping those who are late for their appointment.

I'm sharing my experience so others can make informed decisions before choosing Vancouver Laser…read moreClinic When I first visited the clinic, I was initially very impressed. The clinic looked professional and the staff were friendly and pleasant. During my consultation with Ale, I clearly explained that my only concerns were a few very small threadlike capillaries on my nose and chin, and laser hair removal for my chin and upper lip. I specifically asked for the fastest and most effective treatment to remove the capillaries. I had also recently had facial treatments done in another country and my skin had no redness or discoloration, so I was not looking for general facial rejuvenation treatments. I was recommended BBL treatments and encouraged to prepay for a package to receive "promotional pricing." Because I was not knowledgeable about laser technologies at the time, I trusted the consultation advice and prepaid $1,896. ( I later found out that their "promotional pricing" are more expensive then other clinics regular prices). During the BBL treatment visits, several clinicians performing the treatments expressed surprise that BBL was being used for such small threadlike capillaries. They commented that this approach could take many sessions and may take a long time to work and I would have to pay for more sessions!. MOA staff also made similar remarks during conversations when I asked about the lack of results. These comments are what first made me question whether this was actually the most appropriate treatment for my concern. After completing the BBL sessions, the capillaries were still present and there was little visible improvement. I later went to another clinic recommended by a friend where the capillaries were treated using a Nd vascular laser in a procedure that took about five minutes and cost $100. The issue that had not been resolved with the previous treatments was corrected immediately. After realizing this, I contacted the clinic requesting a refund for the unused portion of my prepaid funds. I was initially told refunds were not possible and that the remaining money could only be used toward additional treatments. Why would I want to continue treatment at a place that I cannot trust? They said I could switch to the laser that worked! why would that not have been suggested at first? They were going to hold my money hostage. I then wrote a formal letter to the clinic owner requesting the return of my unused funds. When I did not receive a response, I followed up by phone and explained that I would be contacting Consumer Protection BC, my credit card provider, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia to review the situation. Only after that conversation did a supervisor Jessica agree to return the remaining $896 balance. In the end, I still paid $1,000 for treatments that did not resolve the capillaries, plus a few laser hair removal sessions. Total waste of money. My experience felt very sales-driven, not patient care driven. If they would have been honest with me to begin with I could have save 1000 dollars and I would have come back to them in the future. This place is very shady.

Came here with my girlfriend to see Dr Shehia Ebrahim, who has been her family doctor for over 15…read moreyears. She has now shifted her focus more on medical aesthetics telling me it was "far more lucrative then giving Pap smears" I wanted some facial filler. There was a coupon for 100$ off when you spent 450$ ( min )on Juvederm. I have always wanted to try Juvederm as I have had Radiesse In the past and I saw no results. The office is in North Van, in a retail complex. It doesn't look like Dr office. It does look somewhat spa like, complete with Zen like tunes for atmosphere. There was tea available, as well as some chocolate - we sampled both. My GF went first . She was getting some Botox. When it was my turn, the assistant took me to the back where I was photographed for my "before" pics. When I went to the room, I waited a while, the Dr came in and took a look and I told her what I was wanting to do. She ended up asking me if I was ok with her using a needle beforehand that would break the fibers up. This would help with the treatment she explained. Always eager for adventure, I agreed. I was given some topical pain killer - however when that needle came to break those pesky fibres/chains I really could of used way way more ! This was nothing like Botox ( I actually like the feeling of it being injected ) This was more like dig deep and pop something after a struggle. You could actually hear the tissues break. It was very painful. I'd say a 7.5/10. Yes, this was with the pain killer. This went on awhile and both sides were done, I felt it slightly more uncomfortable then my eyebrow tattooing which wasn't pleasant either. Then she had suggested I do 2 syringes, but at 700$ each - I opted for a single serving , as I was thinking it was going to be around 500$ as per the promo Minus the 100$ discount. I would of been fine if that was the case, but 1400$ plus tax was not what I budgeted for. FYI - syringe contains only 1ml of filler - The application of the filler was a walk in the park, compared to the first part. It was done quickly, but she seemed to really take her time to look and see what went where, she even did a bit on an old pierced eyebrow scar. When it was done, she told me about other things she could do for me, but it felt like a bit of upselling - but not too high pressure. She told me how happy she was to of switched for her general practice to cosmetic/aesthetic . I could tell ! I was then given ice packs to use. There was not an after picture taken, but we were invited to come to an event the following night . It was pushed on us ( "so we will put you down for tomorrow and please, feel free to bring your friends..." ) This just made me feel very uncomfortable, and politely declined. We went to the front to go pay. The receptionist acted quite newish. I asked for an aftercare sheet. But it took quite some time to locate one. The totals for both of us were way more then we expected, and we also did not get our 100$ off discount as per the promo / the reason we went. I looked after on my receipt and I wasn't even given the filler I went in for! I went in for the Juvederm and got some European filler that I had never even heard of ( Fortelis )!! This really pissed me off as I specifically booked for the Juvederm promo. Long story short - my GF did get the 100$ credited back for us each, but she had to call the office at a later time in order for them to look into it. Now as for my results- my face was literally black and blue for nearly a week . It was horrific. ( I took photos, but they are so scary I don't even think I should post them ) Then I couldn't even see any changes at all In my face, still can't actually. For all the pain, the bruising, the money spent, and the high pressure sales tactics, to not get any desired affect really does not make me happy, nor would I ever return or recommend.
