Went here for a girl's afternoon with my friend. We both got the Fangotherapy package. My room was cold so it was uncomfortable getting naked and laying in cold foil. The lady who did my services was very sweet and did a good job. The scrub felt nice. But it didn't really feel like a spa.. the music came on sort of startlingly while I was trying to relax. My friend didn't have any music in her room and she could hear the busy mall. When it was time for me to shower, the shower drain was partially plugged and pieces of plastic were swirling around my feet. Lastly was the massage, which was decent. I've had worse and I've had better. It did the trick though. My friend voiced her concerns to the owner who seemed nice and receptive. Personally, I won't go back and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There's just better spas out there where you get more value for your money. read more

The owner Raj was extremly argumentative and unhelpful when I was in to ask a question re the gauge of my piercing. I could not believe how standoffish she was and unwilling to look into finding out the answer to my question from her earring supplier re the gauge of my piercing so mI could buy earrings for my cartilage upper ear piercing I received from her business. Both my daughter and myself had our piercings done there. if Raj didnt have an answer available for my question she absolutely should have taken my number and name apologized and explained she would look into the matter further for me. I asked to speak with the manager and she abruptly said she was the owner and continued to raise her voice to me and argue etc even when I was trying to have a conversation with the receptionist to buy some more antiseptic liquid which she said re covid they were all out of??? I would never go back there for any kind of service. Raj was rude and needs more custom er service training for sure and what kind of example was she displaying in front of her front end staff?? terrible terrible rude standoffish un willing to make a phone call and investigate what size of posting they pierced my ear with. i would of rated with a zero if i could have. she said they dont supply that info when she bulk buys the earrings. but heres the thing Raj you could have very easily said you would or could call and try to find out the answer to my question instead biting my head off that you didnt know and were definately unwilling to even tryyy to find out the answer to one very simple question. the gauge of the post of my piercing. you need to take a refresher course on customer service for sure as you have definately forgotten what good customer service is!!! read more

Actually terrible. The worst Pedicure I think I've ever had. It started with water that was too hot to touch and a chair that lowers your feet into the water... it was so hot I jumped and dropped my purse. I had to get her to put two buckets of cold water in... on the second one she seemed to be upset with me for asking.... During the cuticle cleaning and filing she was so abrasive that she cut me several times. I should have just walked out at this point... When she got to the polish part of this ordeal she cured the polish with a UV light and put the lamp too close to me and burned my toe. I told her that it was too close and hurt and she told me I have sensitive feet. The polish is uneven and goopy in some spots.... I emailed them and have not heard back. After reading the other review, I kinda feel generous now lol. Giving the extra star for carrying Riversol skin care, it's designed local & heard good things about it, esp. good for ppl with sensitive skin. Willing to give it a try after my current Origins stuff runs out. Also carry another good name, Clayton Shagal. Think this is a great pit stop as they also offer RMT along with the usual spa services, & convenient when you're shopping at Coquitlam Centre. It's a pretty clean place. read more

I received a gift certificate as a gift for this place and at first was nervous after reading the poor reviews on Yelp. But I had a great experience! I got a shellac pedicure and it waz great. First of all, they got me in same day, and when I was 15min late for my appointment they didn't give me any problems about it :) which I obviously appreciated. My service was with Luda and she was wonderful. Offered me something to drink right away, chatted nicely with me during the service and helped me with my stuff (I was heavily pregnant at the time so taking off my winter boots and getting in the chair is less than a graceful process lol). My pedicure looks great. No complaints on the service itself. My feet are soft, manicured and look wonderful. I would definitely go back to this place for another service. read more

Please hire a front staff person who knows "something" at all about your pricing and your specials. It is April 21 and she didn't know what your April pedicure special was, either she hasn't bothered to learn or whoever is in charge hasn't taught her! You lost a $100 Service because after driving 30 min. here for a pedicure ( which I asked for a reg pedicure with polish) she booked a sport pedicure which does not come with polish. I would have upgraded to a mani pedi which she didn't know the price. Pay someone a couple of dollars more an hour who can dress like she's at work and maybe your spa wouldn't be empty. read more

Overall I was not impressed. I would have given 1 star, but the service at reception was great, the spa was clean, & they offered me coffee or tea... so that upped it to 2 stars. I got a pedicure - I just went for the mini one, and the esthetician seemed annoyed that I wasn't getting a more expensive package. In fact, she seemed annoyed that I was there at all & didn't even take my coat - I had to put it on the floor. My sister was in the massage chair next to me & her chair was broken. When she complained, the esthetician said "I know", and then ignored her. Finally, the actual pedicure was poorly done. She hardly scraped any of the dead skin off my feet, my nails were crooked & the polish was uneven. And, since this is a "spa", the pedi cost about $10 more than I usually pay anywhere else. My sister's pedi looked better than mine, but not especially awesome. I would not recommend getting a pedicure at 2nd Look. read more

I've only had facials done here and LOVE THEM. I'm a loyal customer of Vicki and look forward to my facials every year. Very comfy bed (flannel sheets and a light duvet), and a full hour of pampering, including a wonderful neck/shoulder massage. She's also great for recommending skin care products that aren't necessarily sold by the spa. For that, I trust her - unless she's secretly part-owner of Bio-Therm... or London Drugs! ;o) Update: Vicki is also awesome at massage! Not an RMT (so you can't claim it) but so worthwhile if you have the money. If she ever leaves 2nd Look, I'll be following her. read more

Horrible. First shellac a month ago and she missed a toe nail and she painted around my cuticle. She also grabbed her instruments out of a bag, it fell on the floor then preceded to use it again. I asked her to clean them first. Second time (yesterday) was shellac pedicure again. When I sent out the photo of my pedicure to friends, they could not believe it was a salon pedicure. It was awful. You can see brush marks, shellac on my skin, and cuticles were not cut properly. Sent a private message via Web site but no reply. Posted it on their Facebook page but it's been deleted. If I could upload a picture of my toes, I'd show you. Another note... there was cut hair on the spa chair side table, hair all over the magazines, the receptionist asked me to pay before so she could cash out as i was the last appointment. By the time it was done it was 9 PM and they couldn't fix it and I've already paid. read more

Went for a half a leg wax first of all the temperature was TOO HOT and BURNED me I had asked the lady to turn it down but never did, the lady didn't prep my skin which led to a MORE PAINFUL experience, didn't respect my wish and went to high on my thighs. I had noticed some PATCHES on my legs and pointed them out to the lady, she went over them them but NOT CARFUL enough to do a good clean job. The end result look on my legs is small patches of hair topped off with some leftover wax. I would definitely not recommend this place. The price is TOO EXPENSIVE for the quality and service and less than desirable customer service. After the treatment my legs are SUPER SENSITIVE to the touch and now I'm gonna have to go get my legs redone. NEVER AGAIN. read more

This place was amazing and the staff were great & accommodating! I think I will be a regular here! The nail tech was very detailed and they had a great selection of nail polish. My pedicure and manicure came out great. The place is extremely clean, the pedicure chairs are awesome, and the quality of pedicure is top notch. I decided to go for the royal spa pedicure and the young lady did a great job. Hands down it was a wonderful and friendly environment with very soothing music that helps relax your mind when getting a pedicure. They offer a lot of different services which I've heard are very good, next time I going for a massage. I got a facial for 45 mins and for 7 minutes my face was steamed and for 15 minutes I had a mask on. This was a total of 22 minutes where I sat in the dark with the aesthetician gone. There was no music in the background or any kind of diffusers/aromatherapy. There was also no facial massage. I've been to places where they generally massage your face, neck, scalp, shoulders or hands but there was none of that. Just putting product on, letting it sit and doing extractions. To make matters worse my skin started to burn from the mask and I came out of my treatment extremely red (like tomato red). The website said this facial was ideal for sensitive skin but I don't think so. To be fair they were extremely kind and gave me water and told me to sit and even fanned my face because it was that bad. Overall not worth the money, I recommend going elsewhere. read more

I purchased a Royal Spa Pedi for $60 for my mother's birthday, which was suppose to include a 60 min treatment...needless to say the complete pedi lasted exactly 32 mins. when my mom asked them why it was so short..the persian lady played dumb and pretended to not speak English. My poor mom was so upset as she was totally taken advantage of. When she came home..she showed us her feet and it was absolutely a joke. The nail polish job was a mess, her heal under her foot looked like it wasn't even scrubbed. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK!! HUGE WASTE OF $$$$ & TIME!!!! Customer Service was disgusting to say the least!!!! I would have given this business no stars, but I don't think that's allowed. On their website, they claim they do single eyelash extensions and it stays on for 2-4 weeks. When I arrived for my appointment, the aesthetician informed me that she cannot apply single eyelashes and she can only apply multi lashes because she does not have enough experience. First red flag. She also informed me that they would only last for a week and I would need to come back for a touch-up. Second red flag. During the procedure, the aesthetician applied, removed, and reapplied the protective tape under my eyes several times. Every time she removed the tape, she pulled them off as if I was doing a waxing service. Really painful. Next problem, when she was gluing the lashes on to my right eyelid, she actually glued my eyelids shut twice! She pried them open with her fingers and the combination of this action with the fumes from the glue in my eyes was extremely painful. She did the exact same thing with my left eye, except she glued my eyelids together several times. Also, at one point, the woman dropped the tweezers on the floor, picked them back up and used them on my face without sanitizing them. And she sat on my ponytail. At the end of the service, the owner came into the room and commented on how great I looked. I looked in the mirror and I looked ridiculous. The lashes were uneven, there were noticeable bald spots, and there were clumps of glue stuck on my lower lashes (even after using all those strips of tape). I asked the woman to fix the bald spots and she said she can't. Completely unhappy with what had happened, I asked the owner for a refund. She argued with me saying that her aesthetician "always does amazing working and we've never had an issue before". I told her I've been doing extensions for years and this was the worst experience ever. The owner offered to remove them for free. As I sat back on the bed as the same woman who put the lashes on was about to remove them. She placed two cotton pads under my eyes and soaked two more pads with glue remover and placed them on top of my lashes. As she's rubbing them off, my eyes are burning and tearing up. She's using the wrong chemical. She uses so much of the chemical that it end ups soaking the bottom cotton pads, seeps into the skin on my lower eyelid and cheeks, and my skin is burning, red, and I get a chemical rash. She notices it and asks if it hurts, I tell her yes. She sloppily puts a wet tissue on my face to fix it. At the end of the removal, she placed some aloe vera cream under my eyes to stop the burning and redness, but wiped it off two seconds later. Useless. There was still glue and a couple lashes still stuck on my eyes. I left and drove to my regular aesthetician, told her my story, showed her pictures, told other aestheticians my story and showed them pictures and they were all shocked about what happened, and informed me that everything during the entire service was done completely wrong. I will never go back to this place, and I warn every person I know to never go to this place. That place only has one person that does the lash extensions, so do not go here unless you want to go through the same experience as I did. The priced you pay for the service is completely outrageous for what you get. The products and customer service are garbage. read more

This place is tired and needs significant updating. They have some new pedicure chairs but unless you are having a steam pedicure they stick you in chairs that look like they are falling apart, the soaker part it rusted and had floaty things in it. She tried to tell me it was tea but she didn't put any tea in the water. Was it left over from the last person?. The woman who did my pedicure was not great. She didn't put any effort into it. She pretty much just cut my nails and put polish on. Missed a bunch of steps on between. I used to like this place but this was the last time that I will go. read more

I have been going to this spa for approximately 2 years now and I never really thought about how bad the services I was getting were. I usually purchase the VIP membership which is $99 and allows you to get your eyebrows waxed or threaded once a month, but after my most recent visit, I will look elsewhere to get my eyebrows done. About a year ago, I had my toe done with the gel pedicure and it was supposed to include a foot and leg scrub and something else, but I forget aside from the actually pedicure itself. I would like to point out that I do have some foot problems where my big toes stick up which causes the toe nails to stick up as well, due to issues with the bones in my feet. Now when I first went in they sat me down at a manicure table. The pedicurist didn't even know what the appointment was for! That was the first red flag. Now since all their pedicure chairs were filled, they took me into a private room and had me almost lay down, very uncomfortable for the pedicure. Unlike the pedicure chairs, there is no massager built into the chair, no foot bath and no magazines. Since there was no foot bath, I did not get a foot and leg scrub, which is what I paid for. That was the second red flag. A better thing to do would have been to ask to reschedule the appointment, apologize and give a discount on the re-scheduled pedicure. However, I should point out that the pedicurist did do a good job on my toes considering the issue I have with my feet. About a year later I went back for another gel pedicure. I got the most expensive one which was supposed to be 75 minutes long. It was around 30. That was very disappointing and completely unacceptable. That was the third red flag. Another thing that was disappointing was that the pedicurist who was doing my toes, did not understand a lot of what I was saying because of the language barrier, so she didn't understand what I wanted and ended up giving me the worst pedicure I had ever seen. I tried to explain to her before that the other pedicurist (who I was not able to get because she did not work there anymore), put gel tips on to curve the nail downwards at the end to make it look like the toe didn't stick up so much but she completely ignored that and just put the gel polish on. This was the fourth red flag. I also started to notice that everyone around me had drinks from the spa, all of which the pedicurist had gotten for them and asked if they wanted anything. My pedicurist did not ask. After my pedicure was almost done, the receptionist came into the back and on her was back she asked if I wanted anything to drink, but the point is, is that the pedicurist should have asked at the beginning of the pedicure if I wanted anything to drink. I'd also like to point out that the foot and leg scrub lasted about 5 minutes and I left the spa with feet that were still fairly rough. All she did was quickly rub in an exfoliator, I could have done this myself and still done a better job! Overall I was very disappointed with the pedicure, she didn't even push my cuticles back! And when I mentioned to her for the third time that the other pedicurist used tips to make it look good, she said "I can't do it, it's too small." This made me feel even more self-conscious about my feet and for her to tell me that it can't be done, wow. Funny, cause the other pedicurist did it. It just goes to show how inexperienced and clueless she was to what she was doing. Now I just go to Walmart and pick up a 96 pack of fake toe nails for $5 and they look even better than the first pedicurist who did my toes. I eventually did get my second pedicurist fixed, but I was very disappointed because it only lasted a week and the new person was very unfriendly and unwelcoming. She didn't even fill up the foot tub, so my feet sat in a cold, uncomfortable tub. I was also told later on that they only have one person who does the gel toe nails when I was scheduling to get them re-done, so the first person wasn't even trained to do gel toe nails! (*Note: Second pedicure and manicure were done by the same person.) Now for the gel manicure. First off, the gel never fully dried and had bubbles in them. This was because the manicurist never waited until the time would go up on the UV lamp, she would just switch it whenever. She also didn't push my cuticles back so in less than 2 days, it looked like they needed to be filled! Lastly, for the eyebrows. Sometimes they turn out bad, sometimes they turn out good-ish. It depends who you get. I've learned to just keep asking for the same person, I think her name is Elizabeth. In my opinion, she is very unfriendly and unwelcoming (same person who re-did my toes) but I only ask for her because she does an okay job. After my VIP membership, expires I will never set foot in that spa again. This spa is a huge joke! Save yourself the money and time and don't go here! I would actually do no stars after that brutal service. Spoke to Jenny at 9:a.m. to ask for a pedicure appt for my daughter and myself with Louisa. We were given the 12:30 appt and to consider it booked if we did not hear otherwise. At 6:00 pm I receive a call saying that Louisa is not available and my daughter could have the 12:30 appt alone but if we wanted to do it together it would now be 4:00 pm. I considered the original appt booked as I did not expect to hear back 8 hours later that the 12:30 appt was not available. I will not be returning as a customer. Very disappointed. read more

DO NOT GET LASH EXTENSION AT THIS SALON. The previous review on the lash extension service says it all and I confirm. The worst extensions I've ever received. The adhesive used was black, sloppy and all over my eye area when I left. Extensions on top were glued to my lower lashes... The only reason I did not have them removed was because I was leaving on vacation the next day and thought they would serve their purpose for the beach wedding I was attending. They did, which was on the second day of the trip.... I was so embarrassed at how bad they looked I removed them myself, which fortunately, was not difficult because of the crappy adhesive job, and thankfully I did not lose too many natural lashes in the process. A joke is right. Why offer a service when the technician has no clue what she's doing! Ridiculous. read more

My girlfriend booked manicures and pedicures for us at this spa. When we arrived I told them that I wanted shelac polish on my nails. This was quite difficult for them to accommodate as not all the techs can do shelac. I wanted a french manicure and the women told me she didn't know how to do french. ???? This is a spa, there should be trained technicians who can do what the client requests. I gave up on the french manicure and had one colour instead. The tech then proceeded to file my nails, when I asked her to please even them out she told me they were fine from her angle??? I paid over $100 for a manicure and pedicure and they did such a bad job that just over a week later I am going to have to go and have my nails done again. read more

I have gone to 2nd look many of times for eyebrow wax/threading. Fatima is definitely the best. That being said, i feel bad giving this place a bad review, but i am no longer going there...EVER!! i just had my brows done last night and they are horrible!!!! Fatima did not do them as she was not working (my first mistake) but i thought id give someone else a chance. My eye brows didn't need too much done to them, but they are now butchered. I not only have hairs that weren't touched that needed to be, she completely hacked into my brows after i gave her specific requests not to. I should also mention that she made me bleed. have never had that happen while threading, so i was a bit take back. The women I usually go to was away in India (she does not work at 2nd look) and she only charges $7... 2nd look charges $15 and it was no where near as good as my usual lady. I am a hairdresser myself, so tipping is a big part of the industry. I still left a decent tip, but like i said, NEVER will I go back. I need to go somewhere in the next few days to have them fix what can be, and thread the hair that is still left. UGH.... read more
