I am genuinely saddened to be writing this review. I have been a loyal client of Stripped Wax Bar…read morePort Moody for over 4.5 years and have recommended this location to many friends and family. Today, I arrived a few minutes late for my appointment and was immediately told by Sonika that only half of my service could be completed. While I understand that lateness can affect scheduling, what was disappointing was the way the situation was handled. I was spoken to in a rude and confrontational manner, accused of not valuing her time, and made to feel reprimanded rather than assisted. When I tried to discuss the matter with reception, no effort was made to resolve the issue beyond suggesting that I submit feedback by email. To make matters worse, another staff member came out and told me to lower my voice, despite the fact that I was speaking calmly and respectfully throughout the interaction. If anything, it was Sonika who was being loud and confrontational. I found this both unfair and upsetting. In over four years as a regular client, I have never had a single complaint. That is why today's experience was so shocking and disappointing. I encourage management to review the recordings from today, as the level of customer service I experienced was far below what I have come to expect from this business. Sadly, after today's experience, I will not be returning and regret having recommended this location to others.

Private treatment room with a bathroom nearby. Waxing services were clearly explained to me before we started. Questions were answered. I felt totally at ease by the time I climbed onto the waxing bed. As per the website, I had taken some Advil beforehand and was very well hydrated. The waxing itself was effecient and not as uncomfortable as I was expecting. Phew. I had my legs and underarms done. It has been a couple hours and all redness is gone. I love the results and entire experience, so have already booked my next two appointments. Thank you!

This is my new one-stop beauty shop!…read more In a Wink is an offshoot of the popular Wink Beauty lounge in Gastown, except it does more than just eyelash extensions. It's a really beautifully decorated hair salon, with separate manicure and pedicure area, as well as private rooms for massages/facials/other spa stuff. I first went here for a haircut Groupon and decided to try their eyelash extension services as well. I loved my haircut by Caitlin. I know I suck at describing what I want in a haircut, but Caitlin asked me questions all throughout the haircut to deliver me with the hairstyle I wanted exactly. The eyelash extensions were just as good as the ones at Wink. In fact, I think they are staying on for longer than the ones I got applied at Wink. It's been over a month now and I have yet to go for a refill. My 2nd visit was for a Day at the Spa package I got for my mommy for Mother's Day. (They routinely have specials on their facebook page so check often!) She got an in a flash facial, express mani, scalp massage, deep conditioning hair treatment, and style. I also added on a haircut for my mommy for $25. I gotta say this for In a Wink and Wink beauty lounge... they definitely excel at customer service. My mommy felt so pampered and I felt that the girls taking care of her that day treated her just as well as they would treat their own mommy. :) Needless to say, I'm impressed by all aspects of In a Wink. Oh, and they also have a pretty lil boutique at the front of the store selling cosmetics and jewelry.

Life changing experience. I don't think I will ever go back to waxing again…read more I first heard of sugaring a few years ago when I was googling for waxing in Port Moody area. Sugaring Change popped up and I was intrigued. I never got the chance to try the place until recently. I decided to just try it as the waxer I like is on mat leave and the location is no longer convenient for me. My alternative waxer has changed her work schedule and I could not meet her timing. So Sugaring Change it is. This is the fastest Brazilian hair removal I ever had. I think I was done in 15-20 minutes. It was gentle, less painful (to me) than hard or soft wax. It was clean and best of all, no tweezing was done (not sure if it is commonly done anyway). I had my session with Danica and she was very patient in explaining the procedures and would let me know the products she would be using as I am sensitive to certain products. The place was nice, clean and quiet. You need to key in a code at the door to enter. I do not think there is a receptionist there at all times as I tried calling when I was there and there was no answer. To make an appointment, you will be better off doing it online or texting or at the desk. Parking at the underground garage is limited (I was told the 2 spots meant for them is usually taken up by staff), and it may be easier to find a spot on the street instead. I will definitely be back again in future.

I have to admit though, despite being located next to Stan's Pizza (Go Stan's!) I didn't notice this little gem until the past recent months. Sorry, my bad! I yelped/googled/social media'd this place because: 1) I'm all about reviews 2) I'm all about cleanliness. 2 Polished succeeded in both categories. I was going away for the weekend and needed a quick wax. A last minute decision which luckily ended up at 2 Polished. I called and was greeted over the phone with a friendly voice and luckily was able to land an appointment within 30 minutes time. YES! Parking was a breeze because it's all street parking outfront, and upon entering I was pleasantly surprised but how charming it is inside. It's a bit smaller than your average salon/spa but I can appreciate the coziness of it and how everything looked CLEAN and well taken care for. There are 2 pedi stations on your right with stainless steel basins (used fresh every time, double yes), a mani station on your left and a loungey chair in the back which I assume are for lash appointments. Behind the mani station there is a small room for waxes and the like. I was greeted by the receptionist and was told Angie was just preparing for my appointment and that she'd be out in a second. I really had no idea who Angie was, but turns out she is the heart and soul of 2 Polished. The wax itself was pleasant (as pleasant as a wax can be) and I loved that she took her time. I've gotten so many waxes in my lifetime and you won't believe how lazy people can get. Angie used gloves, disposable wooden waxing applicators, fresh bed paper, etc etc. Just basically anything you might be worried about when it came to hygiene...she took care of it. And the cost was very reasonable. I highly recommend 2 Polished and can't wait for my next service. From looking at their instagram, I'd probably try getting my lashes done next time too.
